   We stayed at the Wedmore Inn, about 100 yards from the tavern. So to make things easy, we ate at the tavern. Boy, are we glad we did. Both our entrees were fabulous: the duck and gnocchi with a crab cake. And we're from Maryland and very snobby about our crab cakes. The food was memorably delicious. The service friendly and professional. Our server thanked us for selecting the tavern for our celebration! We live in a great food city, but we'll drive to go back to the Gabriel Archer Tavern!!! Loved it!

   Easy to make reservations (and adjustments at the last minute). Our server, Jenna was fantastic. She gave the dad jokes and we gave them back! Food came quickly, well prepared and delicious. Turkey and Brie sandwich, burgers, crab cake sandwiches, soup of the day (pumpkin bisque) - everything was fantastic. We had cheese board appetizer which was a delight along with a bottle of Two Schilling red. Some in our party also got wine flights. We stayed a really long time and that wasn't an issue at all. Jenna checked on us and brought fresh drinks and dessert when requested. A quaint little restaurant tucked into the winery location. Definitely will keep this in mind for future Williamsburg trips.

   The menu is so diverse and the helping sizes are reasonable. Service by our waitress Heather was wonderful. Attentive but not too overbearing. Will be back soon

   Not a huge menu but we each liked our dinner and our waitress very patiently helped us choose a glass of wine. We didn't realize until we got there that this restaurant is on the Williamsburg Winery grounds .

    I have been to WW hundreds of times & am a huge fan. I enjoy the wine, the food and the ambience. However, we had dinner inside, in the back room, and the noise level was almost unbearable. The wine, the food, and the service was excellent. But the noise was a huge bummer.

    The room is simply too “bright”-there’s nothing to absorb noise so it is very loud. I was charged $2 for bread-they asked and I said OK but that is ridiculous. Service was fine, food was good. A nice place for lunch because you can sit outside but would not do dinner there again.

    I always enjoy dining at Gabriel Archer. Good and service never disappoint. I usually attend during the week and the noise level is not an issue. But with the increased attendance this weekend and some very noisy unaware people at a neighboring table the noise level was difficult to manage. We barely could have a conversation.

    The restaurant was very nice and had a great ambiance. It was moderately loud but I would blame that on the specific diners. I quite enjoyed the food but if you don't want to leave feeling hungry you'll have to order an appetizer, entrée, and dessert. The staff was absolutely 5 stars, great service, very polite, and attentive. I definitely would go back but probably have a snack before.

    We always enjoy lunch at Gabriel Archer. The food options are very good. We especially enjoy the Governor White wine. The noise level is very loud. This is a fun place.

    Delicious food. I had the hanger steak. Loved the mushroom risotto and roasted carrots. My husband loved his pork chop. The dessert was excellent as well. Highly recommend the chocolate mousse pie. Hats off to the chef!!

    Dining at Gabriel Archer is always a pleasant experience. We were able to grab a table on the patio on an unusually warm February day and had a lovely lunch of charcuterie and wine followed by sandwiches and mussels. Light fair and not an extensive menu, but there is always something that appeals to everyone.

    What an incredible restaurant and an amazing wait staff. We’ve dined here twice in the past day and had an excellent experience both times. Sharrod was our waiter last night. He was very attentive and friendly. Today, Heather waited on us and she was amazing too. Along with being a great waitress, she went over and above by taking us to where we were supposed to meet up for the winery tour because I wasn’t sure where to go. Thank you, Heather!! The food was excellent… as well as the wine. Loved the hanger steak and the burger. We also enjoyed the oysters, quiche and we managed to try all three desserts. I recommend ALL of them. Kudos to everyone at Gabriel Archer Tavern. You made our trip to Williamsburg extra special.

    Really nice dish, the gnocchi with crab cake. Gourmet touches, like the silkiness of the mushroom soup & creative key lime brulee. I had forgotten all about this place & love to visit the vineyards views. One of the few places in the Burg where you can get raw oysters & it’s a classy presentation. We’ll be back..
