We had dined at Purveyor a few months back with friends and found the experience so pleasurable that I decided to book a table for our anniversary dinner. We were not disappointed. Upon our arrival, we were promptly seated and two flutes of champagne awaited us. As we perused the menu, I became conflicted immediately with all of the delicious options available to us. What struck me most was the obvious creativity the chef displayed in his pairing of the main entree, the sauce, and the complementary sides. It was fascinating to see what he envisioned and to contemplate the result. The wine list isn't extensive but it's clear the cellar was selected for maximum effect. Needless to say, we enjoyed the evening immensely. We're going to make Purveyor our go to restaurant. MoreOpenTable Diner -
Bordered to the east by sprawling mountains, Huntsville is known for its association with the military, avionics, and an eclectic dining scene. But you don't have to visit during the city's annual Brewfest or Restaurant Week to appreciate the unique flavors found here. While fried catfish, country fried steak, meatloaf served with cornbread, cheesy browns, and other iconic southern comfort foods can be found throughout Rocket City, it's specialty dishes like glazed king salmon and braised oxtails served with fresh potatoes and carrots that help define Huntsville's food scene. In the mood for delicious German dishes, authentic Thai, island-inspired jerk chicken, or a good, old-fashioned burger with housemade sauce? Huntsville has all of that and more, including venues offering 400-plus beers, tapas, gourmet sandwiches, homemade soups, pizza, and sushi plates.
