I didn’t find that the food was worth the price. Fortunately I wasn’t very hungry or the $50 sushi dinner I had would have left me even more disappointed and hungry.
Amazing Sushi and I an an expert
Best restaurant in San Diego!
The food was amazing. The service spectacular! We will be back soon.
Enjoyed a very nice dinner there with my son while on a business trip. The food was outstanding. Young and energetic vibe. Excellent service!
Food was phenomenal
First, as a solo diner with a reservation I was not allowed to have a table. Second, the portions are tiny but very expensive and the quality was poor. There was an "off" taste to several of the nigiri sushi offerings. I ordered a maki roll made with pickled burdock room (Oshinko) and it was watery. The sushi rice was sub-par.
This is NOT a good sushi restaurant...it may pass for fashionable in San Diego but neither the quality nor the value are there.
We love this place! It’s a little pricey for sushi (but not pricey for downtown) but it’s DELICIOUS, and they have a great price for 22oz Kirin! Last time we went we sat at the bar and shared a few rolls, I think we were in and out in less than an hour. Great service, not rushed and everything came out very quickly! We’ll definitely go back!
Food was delicious! The place is small but plenty of tables to accommodate. Highly recommend
The food was exceptional. The service was subpar. I was greeted with a snobby reception by the receptionist. It appeared that customers were an inconvenience to both the receptionist and the server.
The service was incredibly slow for both drinks and entrees.
Love this eatery, great atmosphere , outstanding food quality and great service. If you need spirits this place is not for you. Beer sake and wine only. Perfect for me and my group.
Certainly returning when next in town.
It was my wife and my 20th anniversary. I was stationed in San Diego with the Navy, and my first time back in 25 years. We made a reservation but was seated at the sushi bar and really wanted a table. The staff bent over backwards and got us a table within 5 minutes on a very busy night. Sashimi, sushi, and the saki were amazing and so very fresh!!!! Loved the entire experience and was a very special night
We loved Full Moon!! The sushi was delicious and the options interesting! Cool ambience! Our server was perfect.... professional and friendly.
Food and service were both excellent.
The sushi was fine but way overpriced for the amount of fish. We ordered a salmon avocado roll and the salmon was all minced up instead of a good fresh piece. The hot sake on the happy hour menu was not good. The atmosphere was really fun and the service was great. We may have just ordered the wrong things but I wouldn’t go back.
Wonderful server, excellent food, really fresh sushi and sashimi. Amazing presentation on several of the dishes. Definitely a high recommend for sushi and sashimi!
Excellent food and excellent service. My wife was craving some good Sushi for her birthday and this place fit the bill perfectly. Sushi was delicious and the atmosphere was great. I had the New Moon and the Eclipse roll and they were delicious.
Great food. Hints of Nobu in the menu. Solid ambience.
Nice place, ambiance, friendly staff. Sushi was fantastic.
Delicious sushi, amazing fish quality.
I thought pears the end of the night near closing time the waiters and or employees decided opening the door was cool, but it actually caused me not to want to tip as much so moving forward don’t open the door on a cool SD night.
Food was outstanding in taste, presentation to freshness. Sushi Chef is a master and his attention to detail was reflected in our dishes
Great time, atmosphere, food and costumer service!
Full moon sushi was great. The decor is modern and trendy, the food was delicious (a tad on the pricey side but that's normal for good sushi), solid drink menu and the service was prompt. I would go back and I would recommend. Plus the location is great, you can eat a yummy dinner and when you're done you're in the Gaslamp and can take advantage of the other bars and activities.
Great restaurant! The sushi was excellent, our service was great too! The waiter made recommendations and was attentive without being pushy. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be back!
Some of the best sushi I’ve had recently and the service was outstanding!
Yum! Everything was outstanding
It was very very crowded and chaotic. Even the staff struggled to get around. Our server said she was new, but she was the highlight of our experience! The food was good, not great and definitely not worth the discomfort of how crammed everyone was. We made advanced reservations for a quiet dinner to celebrate my husband returning home from deployment, and we couldn’t even hear one another across the incredibly tiny table. Even the bar drinks were subpar, and way over priced. Overall it was a total letdown.
We have come every year for the past three years to this restaurant and always have fresh and delicious sushi that is well prepared. They are great at accommodating gluten-free and it is fun to try new fish off of the exotic menu!
Great food, great atmosphere, excellent service. Can’t go wrong with the rolls. Really excellent.
Let me preface this review by saying the food was amazing. All the fish was fresh and the vegetables crisp. Try the Miso Cod.
The atmosphere is hip and the place has good vibes. The music is not intrusive and matches the aesthetic. Loud enough to notice, but not too loud that you can't have a conversation.
That being said, we felt very rushed. Numerous people hovering and just waiting to take a plate away. We did not want drinks to start off and they took the menu immediately, even after we said we may order a drink later. There was a long wait to get the food as well. People who were seated after us and ordered after us were getting their rolls before us. Reservations are definitely recommended if you even want to get a spot.
Food was mediocre. It was fusion sushi with brown rice and other healthy toppings. Expensive for non-high-quality fish.
Best Sushi / Asian in San Diego, well worth a visit!
Visiting from La Quinta. Cozy ambiance. Adara, our beautiful server, was very attentive, helpful with menu choices, prompt and courteous. Backup crew most efficient also. Food delicious including lobster carpaccio and cucumber protein roll. Recommend highly.
Hostesses were a little spacey, but the food and service was amazing. Adara was our server and she made amazing recommendations on both food and drinks. We’ll be back because of her wonderful selections.
Ariel took great care of us. Service was superb. Food was incredible. We were there for a high school friends get together. My favorite roll was the Full Moon. Shannon, the manager, did a fantastic job. - Andy
Service was excellent, food was good!
I have been to this restaurant for many years and the sushi keeps getting better. We kept trying other places in the area and keep coming back for their quality. The fish on their exotic menu are the best. Work your way down that list and you can’t go wrong. Norma was the nicest and helped make the night fun. Expensive but worth it. You get what you pay for.
Food was amazing and fresh with great service. Would definitely go again
Innovative sushi with nice presentation- great cocktails (Their personal twist on a mule is delicious) Definitely recommend.
