Creative and well executed combinations! We ordered sushi, black cod and lamb; all were delicious!
The only downside was the amount of time we had to wait for our food. It was too much time.
Great sushi spot! High quality, fresh fish. Good for sushi purists or for people looking for those saucy rolls. Loved the toro and the sake negiri. Rice was done properly and not packed too tight. Good vibe too - busy. Ideal for a date, group of friends, or business dinner. Not cheap, but you never want your sushi to be. Pony up. I definitely recommend. FYI not a fully licensed bar but plenty good wine, beer, sake choices.
Awesome fresh sushi, however service sucked... we think waitress forgot us and didn't even take our order for 30 mins. She seemed overwhelmed on a week night. Really bad service ruins this place
Great food. Great service. Can’t wait to eat there again.
The food here is amazing. Everything we tried was perfect.
Amazing sushi creations and loved my Lychee martini. Service was a touch slow, but I think it was just our waiter.
The food was good but small portions for the price. Atmosphere was nice.
We showed up about five minutes from our reservation time. We were seated within a minute. Our waitress was well attended. I ordered a Tokyo Mule. Great beverage! We ordered three different sushi rolls. All good! What we noticed comparing to the many other sushi places we been to, their rolls were filling but felt lighter. We are not sure how to describe it. Just get some yourself. If you are planning to take your infant here for weekend dinner, I would advise not to. I am a father to one. Since it was my birthday, they gave me a big scoop of cookie and cream ice cream. Thank you.
The specialty sushi was very tasty. Regular rolls were also good, although were not rolled tight. We also had the grilled salmon and that was very good and tasty.
I love full moon sushi!!! Best sushi in San Diego! It is always sooo fresh and just phenomenal! I can’t say enough good things about it
We were party of 8 and they put us in a small table in the corner. Food wasn’t authentic Japanese. Miso soup was salty, oyster was too sweet, sashimi was very thinly sliced it’s ridiculous. We ordered a lot more and it was just average, nothing special.
I usually don’t post anything especially if it’s negative but this place really needs to step up with service. We informed our server and the manager that we were in a 1 hour time crunch because we had to get to a comedy show on time. There were only 4 of us and the people who sat after us (they were 4 people too) got their food first. Then 2 out of 4 of our sushi rolls were never put in but my husband had paid the full bill at this time. So they had to void the sale to remove the 2 rolls we never got which took another 15 min. We barely made it to the show on time. The food was mediocre at best. It was overpriced with the amount of food you were getting. I don’t think we will be coming back
Great service by the entire staff, quality and creative plates! Love this place and the staff make it special.
The service was very slow — it took at least 15 minutes to get our drinks. But it was some of the bests sushi we have ever had!
This place is pretty good, but it does locate at the end of the downtown area where is a less desirable area to hang out, but overall we had great time and the food was excellent!
My wife and I just dined at FMS for the first time based on positive reviews and we really enjoyed the experience. Nice contemporary, fun venue with excellent service and we liked every dish we ordered.
Our food was incredible, but for putting that our reservation was for a special occasion (my husband's 40th birthday!), we were seated at a coffee table in the front of the restaurant and the table came below our knees! One of my friends is over 6'2", this was ridiculous. We were holding our plates in our hands to eat. The food was very good, the service was awkward and the seating was outright absurd. There were tables available in the back of the restaurant, and we were sitting at a couch and two ottomans without backs. We didn't even have a window to look out onto the Gaslamp night life. So very strange for such a nice and pricey place. This place was recommended and we chose it for our special occasion, but left feeling less than special since we were seated at the kids table in the corner! I don't care if it's chic, it was tacky, and how do you eat sushi seated like that? I would have rather sat on the floor.
Had a craving for sushi and this was the spot I chose. My husband and I love contemporary/modern vibes so the reviews sounded right up our alley. We loved it. Loved the mood, loved the food. Every sushi roll we tried was delicious. Made a reservation, and we were in and out in an hour. Would definitely go back. The only thing I’d say is that it wouldn’t be a great spot for a big party. It’s not a huge space and didn’t look like it could accommodate a big group.
Most amazing uni I have ever had! Sashimi cuts were really fresh, robata was delicious and rolls were also delicious. We also had top notch service!
The sushi wasn’t as great as previous reviews had led us to believe and it was very pricey for what we got.
Service was a bit slow, but the food was great ! Sake, beer and wine only ( so bar menu is limited) . Sushi was very fresh . I would go again !
WOW! Fantastic. Get the salmon tartare and be sure to order sashimi/nigiri off specialty fish menu. Relaxing comfortable setting, great service and fantastic sushi!!!!
I thought the food was very good but the service was lacking in that the two of us who ordered Sushi received and had consumed 5 different orders BEFORE our other three guests ever received the Salmon dinners they ordered. NOT COOL! Serve all together unless it is an appetizer - and, bring a complimentary item if the kitchen or server screws up on ordering properly so that items can be plated at the same time.
FABULOUS sushi and the peach saki was also tasty!
