Always an incredible dining experience. Great service. Delicious food.
To start off the food was good. We enjoyed everything that we purchased on the menu. It was loud but I did not expect for it to be quite. It was a lot of groups in restaurant and had the perfect seating for conversations.
Good, diverse menu with fast attentive service. Stands out in the area of tourist traps.
Food was ok. Started with oyster app. Only 4 oysters for $22, but they were fabulous...wished there were more. For $22, should be at least 6. . First sushi roll I liked most, other 2 were ok at best. Wife preferred other 2 rolls. Overall, decent dinner, but a lot of other places to try. It was an early dinner and as we left we saw the restaurant next door was having $1 oysters for happy hour, so I'd have done that had I known beforehand.
Superb dining experience for 3 guests who joined my wife and me. We had a table reservation, and were were greeted at front door in a friendly manner, and promptly and professionally escorted to a lovely table. Jennie was our server - professional, kind, knowledgeable, efficient and patient with our group, members of which ordered different items at different times! Service, food, and sake choice were awesome! Thanks - we’ll be back!
Some of the best sushi I have eaten outside of Japan. Very original menu.
Amazingly fresh sashimi! Excellent service with an an easy going attitude and classy ambiance! If I lived in San Diego, I’d definitely be a regular! The wild king salmon and bluefin tuna sashimi/nigiri were a couple faves! Also, the seared albacore with crispy onions and the miso cod were stand outs!
We will be back.
Order was incorrectly delivered and had to wait for things like ginger and water to be replenished
By far, the most outstanding Sushi Restaurant in San Diego. Limiting these chefs under the term 'Sushi' is a disservice. Very creative menu and my only regret is my wallet wouldn't let me try each and every one of their creations. Even the 'simple' things.....I order a 2nd round of their seaweed salad....like no other I've ever experienced. Simply outstanding
Absolutely amazing everything. We had the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rise, Third Quarter, Half Moon, Spicy Tuna Roll, Waning Gibbous, Eclipse, Shrimp Tempura Roll and edamame. The Kurasawa Nigori Sake is the smoothest I've ever had and for a much sweeter sake the Coconut Sake they have is also good. Highly recommend the eclipse, third quarter, waning gibbous and half moon. The others were also exceptional in that they have very good cuts of fish throughout their menu.
We went for a birthday dinner, just my daughter and me. The prices were a little high. Our appetizers we superior to our specialty rolls. In the back corner was a couple with a chihuahua type dog that kept barking and begging for food. Super annoying but I’m sure the employees were between a rock and a hard place. Everyone cries service animal nowadays even when it clearly wasn’t!
My husband and I are visiting San Diego and chose this restaurant based on good reviews. It was a Tuesday night and it was packed- I guess because the food is so good. However, it took us an hour and a half to get all of our food. I was served both of my rolls and my husband was sitting waiting for his for over an hour. Not a great experience.
The best sushi I've ever had! The yellowtail carpaccio was fresh and delicious. Our server was outstanding and recommended rolls that matched our tastes.
Outstanding food & service. Best sushi ever!!
Love the food and atmosphere. Will definitely be back again!(:
Food was very good and so was our waitress. Can’t wait to go back!
Food was amazing!! Sushi rolls were creative but on the expensive side (~$20 per). All in all loved the experience!
Would have liked a full bar
Meeting a good friend I have not seen in a long time.
Food was delicious. We chose this place last minute for a nice dinner. They were able to accommodate no questions asked. The service was outstanding as well as the food. We were pleasantly surprised and left extremely satisfied. We would highly recommend this place to anyone.
It was a surprise to find such an energetic location, Amazing food & amazing server!!
Yet another fantastic repast at Full Moon, and a wonderful evening to boot! Our group totaled 7, and, with a wide variety of orders (starters, small plates, sushi, cooked entrees, adult as well as nonalcoholic beverages), EVERYONE was more than pleased. Jairus, a truly amazing server and great human being, never missed a beat; was professional, informative, friendly and efficient; and was a joy to watch orchestrate the parade of beautifully prepared and delicious items we ordered. I know for certain: We will all be back ... SOON! Thanks, Jairus and Full Moon team!
WOW - this place is just flat out amazing. The service was exceptional and the sushi is a grand slam home run! I’ve enjoyed some phenomenal sushi in many of America’s West Coast cities - San Francisco, Seattle, San Jose, Portland - but tonight was some of the BEST I’ve ever had!!! It was off the charts good! Presentation was a sight to behold as well!!!
We were a little early for our reservations, they greeted us and sat us right away. All staff was friendly and the food was great.
Great food, great ambience, great service. Really enjoyed it.😁
Seriously some of the best sushi we’ve ever had, and we eat sushi a lot! HIGHLY recommend this plaice, with a big thumbs up on the full moon roll. We will definitely go back.
VERY expensive for what they served. Food decoration is good but hit and miss. Some are fresh some are ok. Not recommended.
Went in after my son’s graduation in UCSD. This is the 2nd time I dine here, foods is excellent, service is great, a bit on the expensive side though. But u won’t regret if u come for an occasion. Try different rolls from the menu would be something u want to do & u do not know what to do for a new adventure!!!
One of my favorite sushi spots in San Diego - ambiance is unlike any other sushi spot I've been to. The grilled oysters are amazing, a must-try! Quality of the fish is top-notch, I also recommend the fatty tuna nigiri and the Eclipse roll!
It was a dinner with my wife
Great atmosphere, one of the best Sushi I have ever had. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.
Another superb Full Moon experience!! Yolanda called us around 45 minutes before our reservation to ascertain our preferred seating ... WOW! Upon arrival, she welcomed us and escorted the 4 of us to a lovely table. Ariel, our principal server, was professional, efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. She took our request to "be in and out in just over an hour" (because of showtime a few blocks away) in complete stride. She and the Full Moon team provided us with superb, efficient service in spite of our multiple orders ... and we never felt rushed. Jairus, who has served us previously, stopped by and welcomed us by name. Every item we ordered was truly exceptional. We were so enjoying ourselves that Ariel, very professionally, reminded us of our timeline at the one hour point, and we had no trouble getting to the theatre in time. Thank you, Full Moon team! We'll be back!!
The best sushi restaurant in all of San Diego!!! Amazing quality sushi bursting with all kinds of amazing flavors!
I found this place on Yelp and was hoping to have a nice dinner for a friend's birthday. Sushi is her absolute favorite food and she was looking forward to getting some quality sushi. The food was great but I will never go back to this place because the service was atrocious. We couldn't get our waiter's attention and the wait staff was honestly very rude. I do not recommend this restaurant. You can easily find another sushi place in San Diego and hopefully they will have better service than this hole.
Amazing grilled oysters. The black cod was wonderful and the rolls too.
We were seated at the exact time of our reservation even though the restaurant seemed full. Our server was attentive and very knowledgeable and helpful. We enjoyed two chef’s special sushi rolls, one with lobster which was outstanding, and the other with
Tempers shrimp which was very tasty. In addition we ordered sashimi from their “exotic” fish list which was unusual and very fresh and delicious. We would definitely recommend Full Moon and return again when in San Diego.
Full moon was great. Our server Ariel was very attentive and nice. We tried 5-6 things off the menu and everything we had was really good but our favorite was the spicy tuna and crispy rice! The place is very cute and trendy and they take reservations! Great sushi place in downtown
Horrible service. The waiter couldn’t even pretend we existed. Threw our checks on the table - didn’t bother handing them. Drinks didn’t come out until the food came out.
