Absolutely the best restaurant in Western North Carolina - perhaps even the entire state.
Our server, Kim, was truly fabulous. She is a restaurant professional - had great wine knowledge, knew the menu and its ingredients and source. Terrific personality, wonderful service without hovering, knew exactly when to check in with us.
The food is beyond wonderful. Prepared and plated with attention to every detail.
We go here a lot, are never disappointed. Nevell was our waiter and he never disappoints.
There really is never any negative thing to say. The food is great, the ambience is right up our alley. Personal attention, quality care, comfortable seating, and the most genuine of smiles.
I'd love to take cooking lessons, and learn how to make the flavors come together that set this chef apart from many others. But then I'd have to cook at home on Friday nights! :)
Frogs Leap Public House is one of my wife and my favorite restaurants in the area. We typically try to have a meal there every two to three months. Food is always wonderful and the atmosphere is inviting. Service is above par as is everything related to the restaurant and staff. This time we had a desert with a chocolate brownie, ice cream, black berry syrup and peaches. Wasn’t sure how all of this would work together but it was incredible! Best desert either of us had ever had. I also had a New York strip that was perfect. Not the first really good meal that I’ve had here. I highly recommend Frogs Leap Public House to anyone who wants a great meal and service with a wonderful atmosphere.
This was our first time dining at FLPH and if we lived in Maggie Valley, we'd probably eat there once a week! We chose to eat at the bar by the kitchen and were glad we did. Our server was Neville and he could not have taken better care of us! He was a true pro and very knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. We loved our first experience at FLPH and will surely return the next time we're in the area!
We dine at FLPH often. We love the creative and changing menu. We always ask for Neville, who is the best server ever. As native Californians, we’ve been fortunate to have eaten at many upscale So Cal dining establishments and Neville could certainly teach a class on server excellence. Great food, combined with great service, offers a wonderful dining experience.
You MUST have the pork chop entree. Absolutely delicious. You'll never be able to enjoy a chop from your grocer again!
We recommend you request Abbey as your waiter. She's attentive and highly knowledgeable re : menu and wine list.
Compliments to the Chef for the creative, mouthwatering menu.
The best fine dining in Waynesville. The menu is always changing and it gives you the opportunity to try many different dishes.
Excellent entrees. May have been the best pork chop I've ever had. Good pricing on the wine list with a waiter, Neville, that knew his wines. Don't miss the focaccia, it was superb. Request Neville, he was great.
A not-so-hidden gem in Waynesville. We're always impressed when we visit Frog's Leap. Our server was Abby who is great, although everyone there is super wonderful. Always a nice selection of locally-sourced food well-prepared, with a sensible but something-for-everyone wine list.
Felt the food was not up to it’s usual quality. Definitely overpriced for what we received. The fried pickles were paired with a cucumber buttermilk ranch dip, which sounded great. However, the menu failed to mention that the dressing also contained large amounts of dill which was just TOO MUCH and made the combination inedible.
Our food was exceptional, it was hard to decide what to get. Very unique combinations that work well. Our server was excellent as well. Very personable, knowledgeable about the menu, attentive without being overbearing. He truly made the experience better. But again, the food was exceptional. We will go back
Unique and delicious dishes using locally sourced and fresh ingredients. Great service, pleasant ambiance. Frogs Leap has become our new favorite restaurant.
This was our second visit and both times the food and service was excellent. This is a real gem and we’ll return again.
The very Best wood grilled pork chops I have Ever eaten!!!! 10+
One of THE best meals we’ve had in a restaurant in years! Waynesville has become a bit of a foodie Mecca, quite a change from where it started when my wife grew up here 50 years ago. This restaurant is diverse, the food is authentic global cuisine, and the service is first class all the way. An absolute gem in this little town. And our waiter, Neville, was fabulous!
Took our family of 4 for dinner. Great service! Impeccable food! Looking forward to dining there again! Exceptional!
Well, where to start. We arrived early around 5:45 for a 6PM reservation and not many customers yet which was fine. In spite of that still took a little time once we were approached to get going. Admit we did ask for time but waitress seemed to vanish for periods of time. Ordered wine which was very good and wondered where the usual bread and butter started was but were told there was a charge because the restaurant did not make the bread and they had to pay for it-so it does not cost anything to bake if done in house? Asked about what was included in the main dishes and it was not explained fully and when my dinner arrived it was loaded with Lima beans which I cannot hate. Usually you are told what was on the plate. Mine was a chicken dinner and the chicken was very good. My wife serve also had the same Lima beans and we both had the same dressing for my chicken and her lamb.
My wife ordered her lamb with a light pink center and it came well done. We sent it back and when the next attempt arrived if was again well past light pink towards well done. If I had ordered it I would have rejected it again but my wife accepted it reluctantly as we did not want to wait for something else. After her experience and the added wait we both thought that maybe the manager would send some complimentary bread or something while she was waiting for the redo of the lamb-no luck! Waitress told us that she asked the manager to make an adjustment to the the bill for obvious reasons but it was denied.
A shame as it is a nice restaurant and I am wondering if the manager/owner is new and not prepared to handle customer issues. We may tell friends about out dinner but with all the caveats related to our experience.
Excellent location for Birthday celebration! Birthday person received a desert selection that was superb!
This was a fantastic find!!! In the Waynesville area to celebrate our fortieth wedding anniversay,we chose this restaurant based on Trip Advisor reviews, and are we ever glad that we did! The limocello martini was a great beginning to a scrumptious meal. My wife had the scallops, and I had the pecan encrusted trout. Presentation was amazing, and taste was fantastic. Our wait person Rachel was incredibly attentive. You can be sure that the next time we are in the area we will mke dining here our top priority!
This was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in years. Our waiter was a true professional and made the experience memorable. My wife had the trout and I had the Ethiopian skirt steak. Both were top notch.
Always one of our favorite go to restaurants in Waynesville.
A gem in the arts district of Waynesville, it is truly fine dining without the price tag or intimidation factor. We were served by Neville, a professional who read our minds without hovering. In order to get as many flavors as possible, we chose to share several small plates. Next time we’ll tackle the entrees, many of which are contemporary spins on classics. Most ingredients are locally sourced-and it shows in the freshness.
Food was awesome and the service was even better! Neville , our waiter was attentive, funny and professional! We appreciated our surprise free dessert for our anniversary dinner. Will definitely be back!
Not a single thing to criticize - it was extraordinary in every respect. The menu was fabulous and we wanted to order everything. The trout was spectacular and the service was great.
Always good. Have never been disappointed. Service is always outstanding!!!
our fav place to dine when visiting lovely waynesville:)
What a gem here in Waynesville. From the classic cheese pairings to the wonderfully designed appetizers and on to the luscious Lamb and decadent desserts. A classic staple in town. Thank you.

Local restaurant that never fails to impress us and our guests.
Food was amazing, as usual.
I had the pork chop with grits and greens.
Meat was exceptional and the grits were some of the best I've ever had. The juices from the chop were scrumptious. Chop was tender, tasty and a perfect compliment with the creamy grits.
Scallops (friend )ordered were perfect.
Mountain trout was also perfect as usual with the "Pecan Crusted Starburst Trout", always a favorite!
A wonderful experience. Great food, Caesar salad, cheese plate, bison steak! Awesome, knowledgeable server, Neville. Always a special treat to eat at Frogs Leap!
Excellent as usual, great food, service and atmosphere.
Quality of food was excellent.
Early reservation but hostess tried to seat us at worst table in the house which we refused. "Quiet table" does not mean right by front waitstaff point of sale stand and in the main walkway from front door and main dining area. The table we were reseated too was perfect.
Excellent food and acceptable service
Frogs Leap is my favorite restaurant in this area. The food is creative and flavorful. The cocktails are well done and the wine list has a good variety.
What always makes our experience a notch above is the excellent service we receive from Neville. He is a true professional!
We have been here numerous times when we visit Waynesville. We love it so much we had our rehearsal dinner here two years ago before we got married at the Cataloochee Ranch. It was Friday at 5:30. Restaurant empty. Hostess was fine. Waiter, Neivelle, at first was great. Ordered drinks. Martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives which cost $2. Not the usual but ok. Then the recommendations from the waiter. Started out telling us what not to order. Again not the usual but ok. The apps have seemed to shrink. Dates smaller with less local honey. Cheese boards and meats smaller portions. Nothing the waiters fault. $40 NY strip was inedible sent back and $30 Lamb chops had 2oz. of meat on them. Waiter spent less and less time at our table as night went on. Credit the hostess/manager for taking steak off bill and my daughters flatbread. We want the restaurant to succeed but something has changed.
Well crafted, farm to table, creative and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our salad, flatbread pizza, tapas and main courses. Creative house cocktails, well thought-out wine list and broad selection of craft beers. A must visit if ever near Waynesville while travelling the Blue Ridge parkway.
We had a wonderful first experience at Frog's Leap Public House. Our wait person, Hannah, was amazingly helpful as we both have dietary restrictions. The food was presented creatively and was so delicious and fresh. We will definitely return soon.
Very Expensive. The meals were tasty but too much money for the dining experience.
Awesome restaurant. Will keep going back!
Rachel provided great service and answered our many questions
