The server was so professional and knowledgeable about the menu. The service was very quick, the decor was welcoming and comfortable, and the food! The food was so good. You could tell at the very first bite that the chef enjoyed making each dish. Will definitely return.

After living here for three years, we finally discovered this gem. Several friends highly recommended it so we were able to sneak away for a quiet dinner. Tristan was an amazing server and bartender. The food was outstanding, both the small plates and the main courses. The wine parings were perfect as well. We are happy we found Frog's Leap and will definitely be back.

My wife and I went last night for date night and this was quite possibly the worst dining experience we've ever had. Especially for the price. I made a reservation online for 8:30. The restaurant called and asked if we could change it to 8 and I agreed. We then had to rush and get ready since it's about a 45 minute drive. We called ahead and said that we would be about 10 minutes late and we walked into the restaurant at 8:09. Our table for two was not ready. The hostess and 2 waitresses were bussing tables in a house of what I estimated to be about 20 tables. I understand the new normal of being short staffed but this was ridiculous. Why did they change our reservation to earlier and then not be ready for us? We ordered cocktails and did not get them until 8:28. My cocktail was decent if only about 3 glugs but my wife's pear pollywog was completely oversalted and just gross. My wife is diabetic and had done her insulin before going in. After the long wait just to get a drink I told the waitress and she said she would put part of our order to the front. When she passed by again, I asked if there was even some bread or crackers for my wife so that she could get something in her stomach. She flatly told me no. When the first two dishes arrived it was close to 8:45. We ordered the devils on horseback, pork belly, onion soup and sweet potato fritters. The stuffed figs were bad with no flavor of blue cheese, the bacon overdone, and with the texture of liver mush. The pork belly was good but not by any means "life changing" as the waitress had claimed, and probably only 3 ounces at that. The onion soup broth itself was good but the bread (which I was told they don't have any of) was solid as a rock and burnt. It was so hard I threw it on the table and it bounced. The sweet potato "fritters" were like deep fried strings and were completely burnt; this was inedible even though I was very hungry. I am so glad that we didn't take our kids. It would have been a nightmare.

In answer to your review, the time change was done during the day, with the definite option to keep original time, this was NOT to inconvenience you!I was the last person you spoke with when you needed change. At that time you expressed your apologies in having to cut the meal short because your wife is diabetic and was not feeling well. There was NO mention of dissatisfaction in your meal or experience. In order to fix a problem you have to know there is one, you did not.We did try to call you.

This restaurant is outstanding!!! There are no words to describe the magical way they meld flavors/spices. This is our go-to for special occasions. It is very pricey which is the reason for the 3 stars for value although it is “an experience”

This was our first visit and it was our anniversary dinner. Our server Melissa was wonderful through out the evening! We ordered the 5-Course Tasting Menu and it was fantastic, generous portions artfully presented, and delicious. The Chef suggested wine pairing was well chosen and perfectly complemented each dish. We would highly recommend Frog’s Leap Public House!

Frogs Leap Public House is a class act all the way around. Our food was outstanding with flavor combinations that explode in your mouth. The service was excellent with our waiter extremely well versed in the menu options. The atmosphere is casual and cozy as we had a table for two celebrating our anniversary. The owner is welcoming and went above and beyond in making our special night memorable. Highly recommend this eating establishment!

We arrived 20 minutes early for our 6 pm reservation. The restaurant was half full. They agreed to seat us, if we would have cocktail hour at the table for awhile, which we agreed. The Old Fashion and White Bordeaux were great. About 6:20 they took our food order. Devils horseback appetizer was very good. My husband had the fried chicken stuffed with pimento cheese and it was excellent. I had the short rib over grits. It was good however the grits were lukewarm as were the vegetables. The short rib was good but not “fall off the bone” as promised. It was average. They were very good to bring another side dish of grits, which were excellent, however still just not hot. The ambiance was nice, service was on the slower side from the kitchen. The bill including tip was over $200 for two. We would recommend for a special night out, just be prepared for a leisurely dinner.

There was only one others table of customers which should have given us the first clue. We had the seasonal salad because that was the only salad offered. The steak , which I love well done how ever my husband asked it to be medium, it was so burnt you could not eat it even me . The French onion soup was terrible, like broth , raw onions. We did not finish our meals and told our server why . Sad because we went a few years ago and it was delicious, you could barely walk through the bar area .

You will be delighted to have her as your server. She is outstanding and adds a lot to the overall dining experience! The food... Wow.... Inventive. Satisfying. Beyond delicious! The kitchen staff and Chef Kaighn really put together a well crafted, palatable adventure of flavors Never disappointed, and we always leave with leftovers (gotta save room for the incredible desserts!)

Tristan is one of the best servers we’ve ever had. The staff is attentive and our food was delicious, as always. Our only wish is that you bring back THE Caesar salad and the Parmesan truffle fries! The menu isn’t the same without them. The new additions were delicious but those are classics! My scallops were so tasty and the corn chowder it was on was out of this world!

The Devils on Horseback did not disappoint. Melted in your mouth greatness. Great wine selection (recommend the Red Schooner in whatever Voyage they offer). The chef accommodated my need to avoid sesame seeds in the tuna tartar which was awesome. I did expected the fois gras to be at least warm but it was served cold (still great). Lovely restaurant with a great menu and wonderful service.

Frogs Leap Public HouseResponded on September 16, 2022

Thank you Vicki, we spoke privately and we appreciate your concerns, I would like to say that the foie gras in question is a torchon and traditionally served chilled. "Foie gras terrine or torchon should be served chilled with slices of crusty peasant-style bread" We occasionally do not understand our guests seasoning preferences and are happy to adjust when we are notified. We hope that next time wee see you we can adjust and improve your opinion of us. Thank you for your kind review.

Memorable meal! We made a reservation the day before and received a phone call to confirm on the day of our dinner; I'm so sorry I didn't call back. We were traveling the Parkway with spotty service. When we walked in we were warmly greeted by name (how did she know?!). Great menu. I have an allergy to pork and asked our wonderful server if he might ask the kitchen to leave that portion off my dinner of sea scallops and he was very gracious to do. The scallops and the accompanied corn chowder, fingerlings and herbs were perfect. My spouse had pork chops and said his meal was equally perfect. We shared a creme brulee that was a good finish. Best thing I can say is our server and the hostess who kept tabs on our drinks and water are in a good place to let their friendliness and graciousness be appreciated. Will highly recommend to friends traveling the area. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Wonderful elevated pub atmosphere but quiet & relaxed. Outstanding food choices from local sources. Very attentive servers.

We have been going to FLPH since it opened and we have never been disappointed. We had the Foie Gras appetizer and it was perfect! We also had the best presentation of Tuna Tartare ever, just brilliant and delicious. If that wasn't enough, the scallops entree was a hit and the chicken breast stuffed entree with white pimento cheese and then deep fried gave a whole new and wonderful meaning to "fried chicken". Tender, juicy, cheese filled and crispy. Chef hit it out of the ballpark and we were delighted to be there and throughly enjoy the home run.
