Friends Sushi on Rush
kani kama, avocado, cucumber, masago
pan-fried veggie dumplings
This is one of my least favorite types of restaurants, a dive pretending to not be a dive. The dacor is run down and old, they should ditch it and make it a nice hole in the wall. The food itself was okay and the service was attentive.
Daughter’s birthday. Food was good. One sushi order returned and a substitute was Offered
Food was good. Tight space to pack people in. Friendly service
One of our favorite go-to sushi spots in the city. Everything we ordered was awesome. Edamame and three rolls - Sweet & Spicy, Fire Dragon, and Can You Handle It. They were all so good in their own way. Drinks and service were excellent as well!
My girlfriend loves mochis
They had the best Gyoza I've ever had. The Ramen and Maki rolls were both amazing. The seating is a bit cramped but was never an issue once we were seated, and the service was outstanding.
Love this restaurant. Food and value is always good. Servers are nice and ambiance is great.
We love Friends Sushi definitely a hidden gem with an awesome menu. The “Can you handle it” roll is an amazing sushi roll with a kick. We seen this restaurant out every time we are in the area. Best in Chicago we’ve had!
Excellent service and sushi. Very fresh and a fun environment. Our two kids (9 and 12) enjoyed it as well.
Yes, it is a very cozy restaurant with good food and quick service.
Great food, great service! We will be back!
Awesome!! Truly enjoyed everything.
Good music, fast service, food was very very good
Friends Sushi has the best sushi in Chicago -- highly recommend. I lived in Japan and am picky about sushi and sashimi -- Friends is always fresh whether via takeout or eating in-restaurant. Love the staff, too!
I have been to Friends Sushi on two separate occasions, which were a little more than a year apart. Both times the food was excellent. We ordered appetizers and sushi rolls which were all delicious.
Good food and great service.
The establishment appeared very rundown and not clean.
Seating arrangements are tight , we had a reservation for 5 people , they brought us a stool for the 5th person and when re requested a chair they said they will put us on a 6 person table but for 5 people they provide a stool
Food was good , service was fair
Tables were very tight. Very small place. Good food and drinks.
Great server. The spicy miso soup was fantastic. All the rolls were very tasty.
My dad and I went for a sushi dinner and were looking for a great place to get sushi and had some amazing sushi! Highly recommend this place!
Very nice evening and dinner. Service was top notch and we were very well attended to. My only complaint and this is minor is that the tables are very close together which makes moving around somewhat difficult. The food is very good.
Very nice restaurant. It’s a been crowded in there (tables close together) but we didn’t mind too much
Good sushi menu, not the best service this time.
Miso soup was a little too salty. Sushi was delicious.
Great food, great service. The seats are very tight so if you don’t like close neighbors, this isn’t your place.
It was good, their spicy miso soup is really delicious. Some of the sushi ordered could have been better
Don’t fine before 6 pm. Lights are very bright and the music is nightclub boom music that is horrendous for enjoying a nice meal. Food was good but nothing fantastic. Prices are a little high. The lights were dimmed at 6 pm which was very much appreciated but the music remained loud and disruptive.
Sushi was fantastic and came out fast. The environment is very cozy and inviting
Friends Sushi is a small neighborhood sushi restaurant with a significant though not extensive menu. I had the Friends Maki roll and my guest had chicken terriaki bento box. We both enjoyed our selections. The white on white interior ambiance and tightly spaced seating makes you feel like you are almost eating in a communal space. We went in early afternoon and there were few customers. So we were not crowded.
Sushis are really weaks. And expensive. Miso soup is way to big but still good
The sushi was amazing! I’m so glad I found this place and will definitely return whenever I’m in Chicago.
Good choice. Fresh interesting sushi choices and a few Japanese beers. Intimate indoor seating or outside. Would eat here again.
Good sushi. Just very tight quarters. Couldn’t really hear either.
Lo recomiendo por la calidad de la comids. Quizá demasiado ruido y poca luz pero creo que fue ese día debido a las personas de las mesas cercanas.
Really good Sushi and terrific service but the place needs a good cleaning and general sprucing up.
Great food, interesting decor.
Very good creative sushi. Bit expensive but portions are generous and the fish was top quality and freshness. Like in so many restaurants in the US, service felt a little pushy, hasted. But otherwise fine.
