About
Frida's Mexican Beach House is a restaurant serving eclectic Mexican fare along with dishes inspired by Central and South American culinary traditions. As the name implies, Frida's is located right next to the Hawaiian beach. This allows diners to listen to the waves roll in as they eat their meals or just sip on a cocktail. Frida's is a tequila bar in addition to a restaurant, as it carries over 40 different tequilas that are ideal for taking as shots or sipping slowly.
Frida's menu features primarily Mexican cuisine, although some Central American flavors and dishes have made their way onto the menu as well. Entreés include items like fresh fish Veracruz, tiger prawn mojo de ajo, grilled Spanish octopus, rib eye mojo de ajo, chile relleno, huevos rancheros, enchiladas, burritos and street tacos. Guests can also order a side of cactus fries with their entrée.
Diego's platter with grilled fish was delish
Great service, food & atmosphere!
Love everything about this restaurant!
3rd time dining here, consistently great food and service!
Great as always!
Did I mention the signiture margarita? Frieda is drink name on the rocks is good I feel the blended way was best. The food was instragram worthy. Portions are enough to share. Servers work as a team. Free valet is a plus. Love the accessibly of the restraunt with a ramp that is wide.
All ages will enjoy the food but I did not see a lot of young children. Lots of parties of 6 . Can not wait to go again with family and friends .
We LOVE Fridas!!
Great margaritas and the fish tacos are fantastic!!
The food and ocean view are very good. Their salsa in particular is excellent. We always feel that service is less than friendly nut prompt.
Fantastic dinner and service!
Carne asada salad came with no carne asada, tacos requested with no cheese came with cheese, margarita tasted bad and came with salt instead of requested tahine spice twice, was hard to get our waitress-she was too busy or wasn’t around. View was great next to the water. Would not return to Frida’s.
This is our favorite Mexican restaurant on Maui. Their food is always good and the staff always friendly. Can't beat the ambiance - beachfront on Front St.
The margaritas were way overpriced, 14-17. $$, for basic, higher for specialty. The food was just ok,also nothing special, the sunset was the best part, although our waitress was conspicuously nowhere around and we wanted a picture taken together, as it was our second to last night, and the sunset was great. Would probably not return even though it’s the only Mexican
Type restaurant in the area. I think they think they have something special, but the only thing special is the location. Our waitress was nice though.
This is a lovely gem on the ocean. It’s a little crowed and well used which detracts a bit from fancier places. The service is fast, hometown and excellent. The tastes of the ahi crude dish with spicy jalapeños, red onions and cucumbers is amazing, and worth the meal. It was a bit hot for our Eastern European guests, but fine for western tastes. I also recommend the chili relleno but had fish tacos on this occasion. Both wonderful. But I have comment on the rice and black beans. I now wish I had ramen a picture. It is a unique preparation in my gringo experience, the best and most memorable i can recall. I only regret that I had to save a little room for the flan. We always make a stop at Frida’s when on Maui.
Was looking for some good Mexican cuisine and Frida’s delivered.
The guacamole, chips and salsa were amazing. We also did the cheese appetizer which was packed with so many different flavors I can’t even begin to describe how amazing it was.
The bartender was also outstanding - had a very good old fashioned with my dinner - I started with the mezcal cession which was good but just a tad to smoky for me, so I switched to one with basil hadien, can’t go wrong their.
Tried the tacos for the main course chicken and carne Assad, both were great and then we wrapped up with churros for desert that were warm and fresh - can’t wait to go back
Excellent food!! The enchiladas were spectacular. Definitely would come back!
Oh my gosh, this place is soooo good! I loved the flavors in everything. We went twice in our week in Maui. It was perfect the second time too. Our server Jeff was totally cool. Not cheap (nothing in Hawaii is) but Frieda’s is worth every penny!! Yummn
Amazing food, amazing views. 10/10 would recommend if you’re in the Lahaina area.
Excellent brisket enchiladas, great ocean/sunset view, and great service. Homemade salsa was suburb
Nice location with fancy interior (a visit of the toilets is a must!). The view is great to watch sunsets.
Very friendly service staff and really good food with big portions. The burrito can feed two!!!
A little bit outside of the city center.
Great margaritas! Great Mexican food on the island of Maui!
Always fabulous!!!!
Food was fabulous. Service outstanding. Location was great. A little pricey for what it was but it was a great meal if you are craving mexican.
Lovely ambiance and the service was good. We enjoyed the complimentary delicious salsa too. The fish was a tad over cooked but overall yummy.
One of the best spots to watch the sunset with some amazing cocktails.
We absolutely loved Frida's! The food was spectacular, very tasty and fresh, especially the homemade salsa (first bowl is free!) and the fish taco special. The drinks were awesome, in particular the Frida Margarita which had a combination of fresh fruit and even jalapeño but was so tasty! You could taste the freshness and all the different flavors working together. The sunset was incredible and sitting on the porch was the perfect location to take in the beautiful view. Our server was so helpful, informative, and had a great fun energy that made our honeymoon dinner special! We will remember this dinner for a long long time and are hoping to make it back to Frida's one more time before we leave Maui.
Sorry we missed Mark to give him the Frida poster ... lunch was great tho a bit uncomfortable in the sun - shade cloth not quite covering the whole table. Loved having Jay Cohen the racetrack trumpeter & friend arrive to play Happy Birthday was a highlight !
Most amazing views and great Mexican food.
The food and the view were wonderful!
Good food.. waitress short on personality
Beautiful spot. Excellent fresh ingredients. Amazing service!
Food is exceptionally mediocre. Drinks were good although very expensive. Nice location and view.
Great “send-off”lunch for our family. The food was a creative twist on Mexican, and the view was phenomenal. We appreciated the artsy theme as well. Definitely will be a return visit!
We made a reservation at Frida's for a quick lunch. All the other restaurants we've frequented in the past along front street were quite busy and not taking reservations. We we're shocked to find a plain quesadilla priced at $15! A burrito was $22. Wow! We ordered a light lunch for the 4 of us to share that included 2 burritos, a quesadilla, 1 bottle of coca cola and 1 fountain coca cola. The bill was a whopping $100!!! Never again. I don't have a problem paying for quality food but this was simply overpriced and not worth $25 a person even when sharing!!!! Ridiculous.
Location is amazing but everything else is just OK. The food was clearly prepared ahead of time. I say this because we ordered 4 meals and then I walked to take a picture of the sunset over the ocean. Before I took the picture, I was called back to the table because our food was there. It was literally about 3-4 minutes. Food was fine but prices were ridiculous for what it was. Your paying for a view and not the food.
Frida's Mexican Beach House on the ocean on Maui explains exactly what it is. It is also an amazing eclectic Mexican restaurant. Some unique dishes as well as familiar fare. All very very good. You will definitely want to return to try other menu items.
Food was very good and the service was great. Restaurant is on the water and the sunsets are amazing.
We loved all our entrees, burritos, tacos, and the octopus. Very generous portions and plenty of meet or fish in the burritos. You can't beat the beautiful view of the ocean and all the sailboats.
Like all Elman restaurants simply amazing. I wish Avalon made a comeback!
It was delicouse! Please visit this place with great ocean view.
Fantastic experience! Service was exceptional with Jerry taking care of us. She’s the best!
All I can say is that we are from Texas and love Fridas! It’s a must
