Frida's Mexican Beach House is a restaurant serving eclectic Mexican fare along with dishes inspired by Central and South American culinary traditions. As the name implies, Frida's is located right next to the Hawaiian beach. This allows diners to listen to the waves roll in as they eat their meals or just sip on a cocktail. Frida's is a tequila bar in addition to a restaurant, as it carries over 40 different tequilas that are ideal for taking as shots or sipping slowly.
Frida's menu features primarily Mexican cuisine, although some Central American flavors and dishes have made their way onto the menu as well. Entreés include items like fresh fish Veracruz, tiger prawn mojo de ajo, grilled Spanish octopus, rib eye mojo de ajo, chile relleno, huevos rancheros, enchiladas, burritos and street tacos. Guests can also order a side of cactus fries with their entrée.
Dinner: Monday – Saturday: 4:30pm – 9:30pm; Sunday: 4:30pm – 9:00pm
We were excited to get a good margarita from a Mexican restaurant. The menu even stated they were made with fresh squeezed lime juice. However, the rice had more lime than the margarita.
Zarandeado is a fabulous dish - trust me...order it!
Good food, on the water, fair prices, efficient but not friendly service. The atmosphere was sterile, no soul.
Quite busy. Server was unable to give us her full attenrion. Her section was either too large or all her tables were sat at once overwhelming her. One drink order was taken 30 minutes after we were seated. Never offered again. The food came fast and it was delicious. Welcome to Maui, same song and dance at every restaurant here. Understaffed.
Food was ok. Quite pricey for such average food.
Very good mexican food and a nice atmosphere. I would not go there on a regular basis because it is just too expensive
Food is really nice and server is kind. Enchilada is recommended
Fresh and delicious fish tacos. Homemade salsa was awesome.
The view is the reason to go. Especially at sunset. It’s incredible. Sadly, that’s the only good thing here. Service is super slow and food is just ok.
Frida’s was a very nice find. Our first time there and we enjoyed it very much. Food is not the typical mexican food but a nice change with many different flavors. We will go back again. We loved that they list out the ingredients for their salsa. It is delicious!!
We frequent Frida's every time we are in Maui. The food, the flavors, the cocktails, the service! Jeff and Dana will make you feel extra Special and cater to your every need. We love to go for dinner and enjoy
the Beautiful sunsets. Frida's is a Must!
Real Mexican restaurants don’t charge extra for chips and salsa! And charging an additional,. $3.50 for 4 tortillas is rediculous!!!! Oh, and charging $19.99 for a 12 oz Margarita made from a Tequila I never heard of is Tourist Robbery👎Although, the wait staff are all very personable and just doing their jobs! They will do what it takes to accommodate you.
One of us had the carnitas taco plate and the other had the chicken enchilada plate. Then we switched half way through. Both were excellent. The home made salsa is to die for. Recipe right there on the table.
At the beach, see and hear the waves, and watch the sunset if timed right. Food is excellent Hawaiian-influenced Mexican food. This is a favorite spot.
First time here. Loved the food and table on the deck. Great service too. We’ll be back!
Ate dinner with friends to celebrate a birthday. We all had a great at our oceanfront table. All the food was great (monching, octopus, chile relleno and rib eye steak). Great upscale Mexican cuisine. Highly recommended.
Food and drinks were expensive. Not really sure they are worth the price.
Poor enterance to the place. Very tired but great view and pretty good food.
Unexpectedly good Mexican food!
Overall experience was great. Food was excellent. Will go back when we visit again.
Best Mexican food in the islands. Recommend the corn side dish and octopus main
We absolutely loved this place! Our server was fantastic. The margaritas that we had were amazing. The menu has a lot to offer for various tastes. We are from California so we have a lot of great Mexican restaurant to choose from. I enjoyed this menu because it was different from what were use to, I think it's the South American influence that makes it so unique. The bean dip was the best we've ever had! Mom had the Aztec salad and loved it. The rest of the table ordered the tostada, quesadilla and 2 taco plate. We all were very impressed with what we had. Would highly recommend this place. Also the view is one of the best around as you are only feet away from the water!
Great service! Food was good!
This is a fun restaurant right on the water with a nice ocean view. It has several interesting sounding items on the appetizer menu, but we had been eating so much all week that we didn't order any. But we plan to come here early in our trip next year so we can eat a lot! Otherwise, the burritos that we ordered were very good. And it is nice that you are able to choose from about 10 protein options for their Mexican items. And they have a good Mexican beer selection.
Friendly staff, delicious drinks and food. Valet makes parking a breeze!
Reasonably tasty and quality food - but margaritas have been a perpetual disappointment after 6-7 visits - even when given explicit request the margaritas were still poorly executed !
outstanding mexican food and drinks (the ahi tuna, omg, and the Herradura margarita was to die for). And our table was about 20 feet from the waves with a view to Lanai. Hard to beat.
We hadn’t been in awhile so we decided on Fridas for dinner. The bar was very busy and loud but it was a Friday night. That restaurant was busy as well but our server Victoria was pleasant and engaging. I absolutely love the drinks here. I had the Mexicano with silver and mezcal tequilas and it was so good! We had the ahi appetizer with jalapeño, also really good. For my dinner I had the burrito with shrimp. I wondered how good could a $24 burrito be and it was outstanding. All the flavors with the queso, salsa verde, sour crema, guacamole, made one of the best burritos I’ve had. I loved that the shrimp was cut into bite size pieces. We look forward to our next visit!
Great view, Friendly waitstaff, food was good, but we are spoiled by great Mexican food in So Cal, so not that unique for the price. BUT they pour a good Margarita, so that and the view are what you are paying for. Better food at their neighbor the Mixed Plate and same view. in my opinion.
We loved our server and the food was outstanding as always along with the view!
Great dinners as usual. My wife had the octopus (her favorite) and I had chicken enchiladas. Had a nice table for two with a nice sunset view. Highly recommended.
Frida's tries hard, but really does not seem to know what it wants to be. The traditional dishes were tasty and abundant. My wife's octopus was well prepared, but not particularly tasty - at least not enough to sustain her interest throughout the large portion. The margaritas were great.
WE found Frida's for the first time on this summer's trip to Maui and ended up eating there twice. We cant wait to go back next summer.
We've eaten there five or six times over the past couple of years. Service is always been very good and oceans setting is very nice. My wife had this ceviche which is a great value and very good. My buddy and I really like the octopus which we always order and is always excelent. It's always been a little pricey $30 for four legs but this year it was $39.00 for two legs. Also they charging for chips after the second basket, whether there's one person at the table or 4 people at the table, which I think is Criminal, when we spend over $200 for dinner, 4 people. It's not the $2, it's the principle.
EXCELLENT!!!! Food, drinks, ambiance and service were incredible! Our waitress Gerry made the night from her entree and cocktail suggestions to the wonderful photos she took of our family at sunset, just at the right time lol. Mahalo Gerry.
We had a flawless experience thanks to Brooke and the whole staff at Fridas. I have a knee injury, and they were very accommodating. It was the first day after the hurricane Lane, so they were limited on the fish; although, Brooke was very helpful giving us other very tasty options. For apps we shared a guacamole and chips, very flavorful. Then for entrees, I had the Chile Relleno and my husband had the Burrito half red sauce and half green sauce. We really enjoyed our drinks as well, Margarita and sangrita verde drink
Beautiful view of the ocean and unfortunately the dumpsters in the business lot next door Only thing with the service was that the appetizer came out the same time as the entree. Typical Mexican restaurant ploy
$150. For 2. No alcohol
Food was ok just
Not a great value
Friendly service, good food and fair pricing for a tourist area.
