Frida's Mexican Beach House is a restaurant serving eclectic Mexican fare along with dishes inspired by Central and South American culinary traditions. As the name implies, Frida's is located right next to the Hawaiian beach. This allows diners to listen to the waves roll in as they eat their meals or just sip on a cocktail. Frida's is a tequila bar in addition to a restaurant, as it carries over 40 different tequilas that are ideal for taking as shots or sipping slowly.
Frida's menu features primarily Mexican cuisine, although some Central American flavors and dishes have made their way onto the menu as well. Entreés include items like fresh fish Veracruz, tiger prawn mojo de ajo, grilled Spanish octopus, rib eye mojo de ajo, chile relleno, huevos rancheros, enchiladas, burritos and street tacos. Guests can also order a side of cactus fries with their entrée.
Amazing! We love this restaurant. Geri is the absolute best!!
Best view on Front street with awesome food to match!
Always good. Large burritos. Great sauce and salsa.
We took friends and they were so impressed. The effusive compliments started with the chips and salsa and went throughout the meal. Most everyone had fish, from ceviche to fish tacos to grilled fish on a traditional plate. The plate had so many accent items. Wonderful.
Bad experience with server running our credit card twice for someone else’s bill before correcting (still pending) and he was not forthright about it and defensive
Fantastic restaurant! The drinks were amazing and they have an extensive list of tequilas. My husband sipped a $23 dollar tequila and it was totally worth it! The ahi appetizer was phenomenal, and our meals were delicious. Nothing bad to say about this place. Good spot to watch the sunset too.
Get the duck wings....yum!
Waiter staff was very friendly but understaffed
They were very accommodating to our requests for seating and allowing my 5 year old in without a shirt. But we ended up buying one of theirs anyway.
It was way too expensive for what it was.
Frida's was an overall excellent dining experience in Maui. The food , amazing views and ambiance were perfect!
Kia was awesome!
Great as always
Everything was great! Our table was outside overlooking the water/boats and was beautiful. Waitress from NH, can’t remember her name, real nice and gave us some good info on the island.
Outstanding food! Excellent place to try something you may not normally order such as the fresh, local fish, Zarandeado - delicious!
Awesome food in a lovely setting. Super fresh/ Staff super friendly. Going back again tomorrow. Superb Latin food in Maui. Who knew?!
I've eaten here several times over the years and this visit made me not want to return. Service was absolutely horrible! Waitress was more interested in taking pictures of other guests instead of taking care of her tables. Waited at the table for 15-20 minutes before our drink orders were placed and then another 10 minutes or so before the drinks arrived. Food came out fast once we ordered but was not the quality we experienced the last few times we dined there.
Great spot for dinner watching the sunset. Great selection of tequila’s. Favorite dish is the grilled octopus. Mine was a little over charred but my husbands was done perfectly. The salsa was excellent.Try the Oaxacan Mule If you want to tequila drink with a little less sugar and tartness. the Smokiness and any bit of spice or delicious.
Beautiful view and great food. Wonderful experience right on the ocean and highly recommended
The food was delicious! The ceviche appetizer was so yummy, and the chili rellano was the best ever! The food is made with fresh quality ingredients. Our server was super friendly, well acquainted with the menu, and able to make excellent recommendations as well. The happy hour deal includes 15% off all food. It's between 3:00 and 4:30 pm. However, although we ordered all of our food prior to 4:30, since the entree was served after 4:30, it apparently did not qualified for the happy hour pricing. Our server was very accommodating and adjusted the price for us.
It was a rainy nite so all the outdoor tables were crowded into the main dining room. It was very crowded and loud as a result. Might be a totally different experience on a nice evening overlooking the ocean at sunset.
Service was very slow. Food was good but quite a limited menu if we didn't want to break the bank.
I'd give it another try if the weather is good. Nice to have a Mexican restaurant in the area
It was raining hard but we still sat on the lanai. It was great to hear the ocean crash and Sip our margaritas. Everything was good but a wee bit over priced- that’s Front street and island life. So enjoy..and just save a bit more than your typical Mexican place at home.
Great Mexican beachside restaurant - think your favorite local Mexican gem and drop it on the beach in Maui -
Can’t get any better than fresh Mahi Mahi tacos at sunset on a beachside veranda with family
Best meal on our trip. This was well worth the drive from wailea. We can’t wait to visit again and try the other two restaurants in this family-owned business.
Took the family to Frida's for a late lunch/early dinner while on Maui in Lahaina. The mexican food was very good. I had pork tacos. The cocktails were craft style and very tasty. I would go back to this restaurant if I am in Maui
Excellent food, beautiful location.
Great relaxing atmosphere with great food. We had the grilled octopus, oysters, and ahi sashimi. It was so good, we went twice in one week! Kids had a good time with the build your own taco plates.
From the moment we arrived the hostess was great we were seated in 5 minutes.
From the waitress down to busboy so friendly and professional, the food was spectacular .
We had a party of 4 for dinner
We went to celebrate out anniversary and enjoyed good food and service. We will be returning.
Loved it! Great food, good recommendations from the staff, good wine list, wonderful view! We will be back.
Always enjoy the food at Frida's, the fresh fish is amazing, so much flavor!
With the closure of Sangrita, this is one of the few options for Mexican food close to Kaanapali. The front hostess was rather rude when checking us in (we had an Open Table reservation). The waitress was very slow to come to our table (but later told us it was only her 3rd shift there). The menu was pricey, even by Maui standards. The food was ok to good but not great and not a hidden gem or anything. The salsa is cooked, not fresh. And the kids menu was incredibly overpriced relative to other places in the area. Having said all of that, the beer was cold and the sunset gorgeous
Awesome location on the beach. Salsa was different and good—although, hubby wanted more hot/spicy. He got enchiladas and said they were fine, nothing special. I had the shrimp special and it was tasty.
Frida's is a place we come back to for a hit on Mexican food and a night out. This was just a routine date night. Sunset was limited due to weather, but the ocean front venue is great. We had a trailside table and although the noise level inside was higher, we were able to have an intimate time while enjoying a very good meal. The staff is attentive and pleasant, and the ambiance is excellent. We have enjoyed every visit and will definitely be back.
Frida’s is awesome. I would say the food is gourmet Mexican, so expect to pay for what you get, but it is worth it. Portions are large and preparation is to perfection.
They even know how to prepare fish to perfection.
Ambiance is relaxed, beachside, open air, and family friendly. Parking is by free Valet or limited street side.
Looking forward to our next meal there!
Good but expensive $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Very good "modern" Mexican in a nice setting right on the ocean in a quiet part of Lahaina. We had a great corner table with a fabulous view and enjoyed the food. Would definitely go again when in Maui.
