Frida's Mexican Beach House is a restaurant serving eclectic Mexican fare along with dishes inspired by Central and South American culinary traditions. As the name implies, Frida's is located right next to the Hawaiian beach. This allows diners to listen to the waves roll in as they eat their meals or just sip on a cocktail. Frida's is a tequila bar in addition to a restaurant, as it carries over 40 different tequilas that are ideal for taking as shots or sipping slowly.
Frida's menu features primarily Mexican cuisine, although some Central American flavors and dishes have made their way onto the menu as well. Entreés include items like fresh fish Veracruz, tiger prawn mojo de ajo, grilled Spanish octopus, rib eye mojo de ajo, chile relleno, huevos rancheros, enchiladas, burritos and street tacos. Guests can also order a side of cactus fries with their entrée.
Best Mexican food anywhere! And I’m from Texas!
We had an incredible meal and amazing service at Frida’s! The margaritas were fresh and delicious.
The best Mexican food I’ve ever had. Basic dishes but in a new and delicious way. Seaside location was beautiful and service was prompt and accurate.
This was my second visit. Great experience both times. Today, my daughter and I both tried the 2 taco plate with short ribs, we both thought it was EXCELLENT! We ordered the Guacamole and chips for an appetizer which also was very good. La Familia margaritas were great too! Service was a bit slow, but we didn’t seem to mind ...with the beautiful view and our very friendly server was helpful with recommendations and seemed to really love her job there at Fridas! Great food, great view, and happy employees! Highly recommend!
Awesome view. Right next to the ocean. Chips and salsa was very good. Food was very good.
Incredible views! Decent Mexican food with a really fun twist on Mexican decor with the focus on Ms. Kahlo. Generous portions help - though the food isn’t top notch, the service is really great. We will be back for sunset cocktails!
Delicious margaritas. The salsa they serve is out of this world......unlike anything I have ever tasted.
We even bought a carton to bring home. I was a bit disappointed in the shrimp tacos as they were steamed
shrimp. Not a lot of flavor - used the salsa to create flavor.
Great view, atmosphere ok, needs some polish. The food was very tasty but crazy expensive. Come on guys, I know you are in Lahaina, but your prices are way out of line. The service was friendly, but I had to ask if there were any specials, and the waitress did not know what Creme Caramel was, yes in Spanish, the word mostly recognized is Flan, but if you are going to be in the food business, maybe learn a few more words.
Excellent food and excellent service right on the beach with an amazing view!
Great grilled fish tacos, killer drinks and the service was top notch. Get a chance check it out. Good tequila menu reasonable prices for premium selections.
Gerry was fantastic and treated us like we were her only table, while it was obvious she was slammed. We had the best anniversary celebration in her section!
Awesome!!! Delicious food! Great environment! Fun evening!!
We love this restaurant! Authentic Mexican food merged with the islands. Great service and you can’t beat the ambiance, right in the water.
Fun atmosphere but they restaurant was down wait staff so. Longer than normal waits... decided against coffee and dessert as it just took too long to get our waitresses attention. I’d say $23 for a burrito was a bit pricey.
Decent mex food. Nice break from pacific rim food. Great setting with harbor views.
Great food, place and excellent views.
Drinks are good but a little expensive.
Also skip the desserts.
Fantastic food and view. Grilled mahi enchiladas were amazing. Recipe for the salsa is on the table which was very cool. Great time!
Fridas was just okay. Pretty expensive forMexican food, but this is Maui. The rice & beans were flavorless. The chicken tinga was wonderful. The wait person was sarcastic, but trying to be witty. The decor and view are amazing. In full, I would probably choose somewhere else.
Great when you want a change from the ordinary Hawaiian fare. Food was excellent and view amazing. Make sure to try the chocolate tres leche.
I had been here before with a friend and told my husband about it. He is very particular about eating out and he gave Frida’s a thumbs up. Food, service and views were amazing!
We love sitting on the lanai
Worst service I've had in a long time at a Restaurant!
We come here more than once every time we are in Maui. The braised beef rib tacos/ enchiladas and the Fridas margaritas are the best!
Food was bland and very overpriced. Drinks were mediocre. Service was ok but not friendly. We spent $102 on lunch for two and left hungry and unsatisfied.
Food was amazing, view beautiful our waiter Damon was awesome!!! Everything he suggested was great!! Dessert was very yummy!!
Delicious food, casual atmosphere, good drinks. Love the table side salsa.
We were seated right on the porch looking out at the beach and watching the sunset. Our meals were delicious and so were our fruity drinks 🍹
It was a wonderful Maui experience 😊
We booked our reservation weeks in advance. We received an e-mail request to confirm our reservation 2 days in advance. We confirmed. We received a phone call the day of our reservation requesting that we call back and confirm. We called and confirmed 4 hours prior to the reservation. When we showed up there were tables available but our experience was no different than just walking in without a reservation.
We were seated at a table for six where half of the table had a view of a support post. I had requested an ocean view if possible with the original reservation. I understand that they do not take special requests but there were other tables available. It is good to note that ocean views only accommodate 4 tops in this restaurant. We moved the table around slightly to improve the view as this was a special occasion.
We were brought water along with chips and salsa. We waited 10 - 15 minutes for the server to take our drink order. It took another 10 minutes to get our drinks (beer/mixed) and she took our food order. Our food came out 15 - 20 minutes later. The food is ok. I would say overpriced for what you get. The menu is limited.
We ate and wanted to order dessert. We tried to catch someone’s attention and finally our server came back to the table after a long wait. We ordered the cake and asked for our bill. We waited 10-15 minutes for our bill. Overall we spent almost 2 hours here. We were amazed at the lack of service as we have eaten here in the past and it put a damper on the evening.
We thought it the food was great and the sunset fabulous. Many tables overlook the water. They had shades down to protect from the heat of the sun and when it got close to sunset time they raised them for everyone to see. You could hear the gasps of the customers at the beauty of it. Would definitely go back if ever in Maui again! Perfect way to end our ltrip.
Great food, great view of the Maui sunset and a nice laid back atmosphere.
We had dinner right around sunset and it was so awesome. The clouds blocked some of the view but our food and drinks made up for everything. The Mexican street corn was out of this world. The tacos were so tasty - our fav was the beer battered fried fish. The Frida was my fav drink, a little spicy and flavourful. The salsa. Omg. The salsa. I could drink it! We bought more to go!
Really enjoyed our meal and the waterfront location! The staff was on top of their game. We ordered the grilled fish (my friend had the fish enchiladas, and I had the fish plate) and it was delicious!
My hands-down favorite place to eat in Lahaina...maybe in all Maui. Excellent food, outstanding service and...it’s Maui outside, so the view doesn’t get any better.
Was set on a carne asada Malta burrito...then the waitress whispered to go with the short rib instead. I did and she was right, it was awesome.
Oh,and the same owner runs Honu, the Italian place right next door. Now I’ve got THAT to look forward to.
I selected for a birthday during my open table reservation. I got to the restaurant and during my visit, no mention of it whatsoever (no free cake etc). Food was delicious tho.
I can’t say enough about how good this place is. From the outstanding and welcoming service, on to the expert cocktails to the fantastic food. My wife, friends and I are all from San Diego area, so good Mexican food is a staple for us. We were desperate for a fix after a couple weeks on Maui and experiencing several disappointments. We were strongly referred here and we e all strongly recommend it. It’s authentic, it’s creative, it’s abundant. Enjoyed it so much, we cancelled reservations to another place two days later so we can go again. It will definitely be on our regular rotation.
“Don’t Miss it “ menu item...the butterscotch dessert with salted caramel sauce. It will make you believe in the Food Gods.
We were seated promptly with a reservation
Best salsa I’ve ever had!
The food was awesome. I had the burrito with short rib meat and it was to die for! I would definitely recommend it to anyone going to Lahaina.
Wasn’t expecting $39 a plate, but it was really good. Would go back again for a special occasion or business meal.
Love Frieda’s. We had great service, as usual, and a great table overlooking the ocean. The guacamole is the best we have ever had. All the entrees were excellent, we had the grilled fish enchiladas and our granddaughter had the ribeye, all superb! And my wife swears by their sangria!
Great service, great food and the scenery is amazing! Our waitress took our cameras and took pics of the sunset and us. Food selection is what you expect from a Mexican restaurant with a few flairs that are outstanding. As prior reviews state, extra chips/salsa is extra but who cares, it’s all home made and worth it! Check it out and go for a sunset dinner and you’ll really enjoy it!
