Fresh Salt is more than just a restaurant; it is a place to enjoy one another’s company and experience the breathtaking views of the Long Island Sound quietly intertwined with the Connecticut River. Utilizing the chef’s simple yet high quality approach, the fresh, seasonal local ingredients of Connecticut are transformed into beautifully inspired dishes. Our Local Food Commitment allows us to work with local farmers and artisans to ensure the quality of locally grown ingredients from the sea, land and soil. These fresh ingredients and vibrant tastes of Fresh Salt are available daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Located right on the water means seriously fresh seafood and our menu definitely delivers. From the beloved Lobster Roll to the cherished Clam Chowder and so many more specialties, Fresh Salt dishes are guaranteed to please every palate. We offer indoor and outdoor dining, outdoor dining is based on a first come first serve basis, outdoor dining is non-reservable.

                                                        My wife ordered chicken sandwich and the bread was soggy. Piece of chicken breast was small, not worth the money. Taste was bland and was sent back. They also forgot to add the house chips that came with the meal. A side of fries, very small paper bag was way over priced at $7.95. For comparison about the same size and amount as child portion fries McD’s. Waite staff not attentive, no refills on soda offered, had to ask several times before we got one refill.

                                                        Everything about this restaurant is very well done, service, ambience, etc., except the food is on the mediocre side. Ordered the lobster roll and it neither looked appetizing nor tasted great. It would be a fabulous place if they paid more attention to their kitchen.

                                                        So delicious! our service was fantastic, very friendly and polite. we were able to bring our dog and sit outside, which was great. We will definitely be back.

                                                        Great atmosphere by the water. Friendly, attentive server. Our meals were very good and served in a timely manner. We were not rushed to order and were given time to visit with friends that we had not seen for over a year. Would definitely return!

                                                        We were 5 ladies and all of our dishes was fantastic…I had the 1/2 salad with Lemon Vinaigrette dressing on the side with a blackened piece of Salmon cooked to perfection! Ambiance was also beautiful with all the boats overlooking the restaurant

                                                        It was our 45th wedding anniversary, so we traveled to Old Saybrook and went to dinner at Fresh Salt. It is a classic Connecticut shore restaurant with a nice ambiance. We had a 7:45 pm reservation. We didn't get our table for 35 minute. We were given no option for a bar seat/cocktail. The receptionist did not apologize and didn't seem too care. The dinner was good. The waitress tried to make up for the bad experience. Desert was outstanding,
