Enjoy artfully plated Peruvian cuisine at Fresca in Fillmore. It has a comfortable, casual yet contemporary setting that's ideal for enjoying a meal with family or friends. Fresca features an open kitchen where guests can enjoy watching the chefs create their dishes. Delicious appetizers like ceviche made with fresh seasonal fish, crab-filled wonton fritters and lamb meatballs will tantalize the palate before you dine on the main course. Fresca serves traditional popular entrées like lomo saltado, whicht consists of sautéed tenderloin steak strips topped with onions, tomatoes and cilantro on a bed of rice.

Owners Zoila and Julio Calvo-Perez opened Fresca's doors to share the flavors of their culture to locals and visitors to the community. This restaurant offers wine and beer with meals. It hosts various events and also welcomes reservations.

The food was delicious, and our server was spectacular. We didn't want to leave! We took our parents here -- they're from out of town and love trying fun restaurants in the city. This has always been one of my favorite restaurants but I was even more impressed this time around -- definitely a perfect spot to impress the parents! Plus, we NEVER order dessert and ended up ordering four to share among 5 of us. Not because we were hungry, either -- it was just too good to resist. Can't wait to go back.

The food was very good overall. It was presented well and had complex and delicious flavors. We especially enjoyed a seafood chowder and the jalea mixta. We arrived about 6:00 and the restaurant was quiet and comfortable. By the time we left, about 8:15, the noise level interfered with our conversation. The servers were very helpful and pleasant but, as the restaurant got more crowded, the pace of service became incredibly slow.

Amazing food! A must when you visit San Francisco. We have been dining here for years every time we are in town. I am far from being a creature of habit, but this restaurant's food quality is superb, and makes you keep coming back for more. We are in town for four nights, and decided to come back for dinner again second time on the same trip.
Services are truly delicious. I would recommend dining at the bar and watching chefs prepare the food right in front of you.

I scheduled a reservation to celebrate my girlfriend and I 2nd year anniversary. I was excited to celebrate our two years over a nice meal. We showed up 10 minutes early where we were seated quickly. After being seated no server acknowledge us for 10-15 minutes. My girlfriend and I were just sitting there waiting to place our order and all the servers did not acknowledge us what so over. I have never been completely ignored for around 15 minutes after being seated at a restaurant. We finally ordered our food after 15 minutes of being ignored, which took around 45 minutes to delivered to us! This horrible experience lasted an hour and half. While waiting for our food and during eating our dinner the server only came twice to check on us. I was extremely disappointed in the service me and my girlfriend got at this place. My girlfriend noted to me that she felt that we were ignored because we were the only people of color eating. This was one of the worst services I've ever experienced and what made it worse is that I choose this place to celebrate 2nd year anniversary with my girlfriend. Big mistake!

Great food but the service is very slow. Our waitress didn't come to greet us until 10 minutes after we arrived. Food took a long time to come and the main dish came before the appetizers. We had to ask for our plantain chips with the appetizer 3 times before asking a different waiter to bring it. Then we had to ask for our check 3 separate times until it finally came. We honestly felt ignored by the staff. Food is good but you just need to budget double the time you might normally for dinner.

This place never disappoints! If you want great Peruvian in the city this place is a must visit. Do note they don't have Pisco Sours at this location though... My the sangria is great!

Great service, but above all, perfect food. Certainly way too loud (why don't restaurants add sound absorption foam on their walls like a music studio?), but worth it for the food. Thank you - divine!

we were in town for the weekend from Cincinnati. we had received a tip that the neighborhood restaurants were good, but we booked Fresca sight unseen. the food was amazing. we split several dishes which were all good, but the meatball appetizer was our favorite. the sangria was also delicious. our server was friendly and helpful, but didn't rush us. we would definitely go back.

We had a 730 reservation. We were seated at 810. We did not receive service until 830. Under staffed and over busy. The first course was good. Entrees were fair at best. We eat at Fresca West Portal regularly and would not return to Fillmore.

Maybe we were there at an off time. Waiters were all standing around together and chatting. Service left a bit to be desired. Food was tasteless and not made well. I ordered trout with shrimp and there was literally two pieces of shrimp. It was really just trout covered in a huge pile of purple onions, such a huge pile that I couldn't see the fish! Not what I had in mind.

Overall good food! The bistek was great and the paella was okay. The ceviche ahi tuna was quite good as well.

The service was okay. It was a very busy night so our waiter wasn't as attentive as we would have liked.

Would definitely come back but hopefully service improves the next time.

I'm taking the time to write a review to commend Elsa for her calm and effective action that evening. A woman seated with a man, possibly on a first date, had a seizure. The man froze. Elsa filled the void and cradled the woman in her arms and prevented her from hurting herself. She also calmed the woman's date, who after a while got out of his seat and began to help.

It was a weird night at Fresca. An adjoining table of 8 women was extremely high maintenance. Shortly after the woman had the seizure, 2 of the women at the table of 8 got into a heated argument, wherein one of them challenged the other at least 3 times "let's take it outside". These women were in their late 40's at least, if not their 50's! Elsa had to manage that table also, as well as a table immediately behind the woman who had the seizure, who were patient & quiet despite having their meal seriously disturbed.

Before all this happened we stood on the sidewalk waiting until 8:35 pm for a table when we had an 8 pm reservation. One table had a check sitting on it when we arrived at 7:50 pm. That table finally paid and left at 8:45 pm. we took a different table that let their check sit for about 15 minutes. A glance towards the entrance would have been sufficient to see that people were waiting for a table. Another table let a check sit for over an hour, but at that point no one else was waiting to be seated. No knock on Fresca, just an observation about the lack of courtesy of a number of its patrons that particular evening.

Elsa was a star that night, and the food was good.
