Great food, drinks, and service -as always!
Love coming here for date nights and other special occasions :)
Our second visit and the food was as excellent as the first time. Will definitely be back.
Frieda's is one of our favorite places to dine. Fredia and the staff are always friendly and helpful. Plus their happy hour specials make it the perfect place to relax after a busy day at work.
Great food, drinks and service. Our out of town guests were very impressed.
The food did not match the high prices. The service and atmosphere were great though. We won't return and would not recommend to a friend.
Very good food and good service. Menu has a lot of options. The table lighting could be a little brighter.
Awesome experience all the way around! Food, ambiance, and service was amazing!
Everything was delicious and our waiter was great! My husband was craving crab legs for his birthday, he got the King Crab and was still talking about them the next day. I got the filet and subbed the potato for the risotto and it was delicious. The shrimp diablo were great too.
The special menu for NYE was fantastic!! Flavored to perfection! We kept running low on water and had to find our waiter several times. But overall would highly recommend!! We love going to Freda's!
New Year’s Eve menu was excellent.
Privately owned and operated with the care and attention that the big chains sadly lack. Good selection of menu options, deliciously prepared.
Very nice atmosphere and amazing food. Live piano playing every Friday night is an added bonus. We definitely will return.
Reserved for a nice family holiday lunch. Restaurant was quiet and service was fantastic. Everyone ordered something different and entrees were served hot at the same time.
Lunch prices and portions were good with options to order off dinner menu.
We have eaten at Freda's since she first opened. We usually go for special occasions (birthdays, our wedding rehearsal dinner, anniversaries, Mom's and Dad's Day etc.) Service was not good initially but has greatly improved through the years and is tops today. It all matters on who is waiting on us but overall we have enjoyed all the service staff. They are attentive without being there too much, are knowledgeable and bring things to us with a smile. The food is outstanding consistently. Even the broccoli is, seriously, the best I've ever made or eaten anywhere! We love the Sunday brunch with shrimp fixed several ways, prime rib, smoked salmon and Freda's signature white chocolate bread pudding is oh, so delicious! There are many other fabulous selections so I/we come hungry!
This was our first time going. I like the architecture, design and layout of the restaurant. The food is decent-to-pretty good… I think there should be some more basic buffet items that they could have on the line available. The fruit was very good, the omelette station Cook was very friendly and approachable. If you sit near the bar, the bar service is not what I would expect for the price point of the buffet, and the hostess staff did not greet us when we walked in.
Overall the low energy and lack of friendliness of many of the staff is not what you would expect for the price point of the buffet.
Most disappointing was our last minute after paying when the staff said “we have a reservation at 1:00, hate to rush y’all but we kinda need this table. It was 12:59. It doesn’t get much worse than that. That’s the last impression we were left with. Poorly managed, the restaurant wasn’t overcrowded, I’m pretty disappointed. We had paid and were about to leave. The other 90 minutes we were there, no mention of us needing to be done by a certain time.
This is the 2nd time that I have eaten at Frida as restaurant and the food was superb the service was excellent I have no complaints and I have recommended this restaurant to all of my friends
We have been to Freda’s several times since moving here a year ago....either hosting clients or just dinner out. It has always been 5 stars all across for us but this time they sat us right next to the wait staff station and it was distracting with all of their issues, customers and arrangement of seating. So, we won’t sit there again! Their food is always fantastic so we will go back.
It was Christmas Eve so everyone was super busy. We were seated in a back room, so there was not as much ambiance, but it wasn't bad. The food was very good with large servings. Everyone was very friendly.
EXTREMELY Pricey for the food you get. Our bill was over $300 for 6. We won’t be coming back for Christmas Eve dinner. Server Carlos was fantastic. Freda was sweet.
Special occasion brought up to waiter we were seated in last booth up against a work station directly in front of the kitchen - and next to a very loud private party w/a microphone, only separated by a half wall and part frosted glass. POOR seating planning. Can't imagine every booth had a reservation & one with the same specific instructions and we were simply the last one at 7:15pm on a Sunday. Was given time to look over drink menu & sat for so long a manager had to finally come up and take our first order. When waiter returned made passive aggressive comment about manager getting our order. Bread, soup/salads, & appetizer all came out at same time. Waiter commented that he tried to space them but 'they' or he are busy. Should not be patrons problem if kitchen & staff can't handle a Sunday night dinner crowd. When finished main course, one plate was removed and the other two w/fish remnants stayed for us to smell & stare at while considering to have desert. By the time the waiter returned for desert order I was so disgustegusted by the dirty plates left on our table I just wanted to get out of there. Table was never cleaned between first and main course, or after - since plates were not removed until we received the check. We used our napkins to corral the dropped food away from us. WORST BIRTHDAY DINNER EVER - & it was my birthday.
Freda's has been one of our favorite places to meet with a few other couples for an excellent visit with great food and drinks. The food and service is superb. They have big round tables that fit up to eight, which is great for conversation and catching up with long time friends.
My wife and I come to the area every 6 weeks for business. We always plan our trip so we can have a meal at Freds's .
It is a great place to eat with a friendly environment plus the food is outstanding
Our last desert to try was the bread pudding.. It was outstanding.
Thanks for your attention to detail with great food.
Fantastic cuisine, great service. One of the best brunches in Austin for sure. Don't forget to order the bread pudding... it is to die for.
Food was mainly greasy and tasteless. Unless this was an anomaly, rating seems inexplicable
Ladies night with some out of towners. Looking for an Austin original. Freda’s did not disappoint!
Me and the husband were able to get away from the kiddos and thankfully dine at one of my favorite seafood restaurants in the Austin area! Yummy entrees(lobster roll and shrimp and grits), superb chocolate dessert and the service and ambiance are both impeccable and appreciated! Until next time.....
Fantastic quality and service. Freda is a top notch restaurant. Got to try the bread pudding. It’s to die for
We went for the 3 course meals and wine pairing monthly event. It was really great loved it
Was here for a business lunch. Got served half cooked catfish. Someone came out looked at it and said it was ok and didn’t offer to replace it. I didn’t want to make a scene during a business lunch. Terrible food. Would not recommend this place.
Delicious food. Pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommend this place.
limited menu but food was good. Service was good. Definately been to better seafood restaurants
The food was delicious and ther service was superb!
Had the best seafood meal ever. Service was great. Loved the piano playing in the background. Would love to have a location in DFW. Will dine here again when in the area.
Wonderful evening with my family. Lobster shrimp bisque was amazing.
They were very accommodating for my father who needs a scooter. We will definitely be back.
Don’t order their shrimp & grits unless you like grits soup
Food was amazing and great staff - we love this place!!!
A hidden gem that never fails. One of the beat steaks in town.
The food and service was just fine the only problem was that the dining room was too cold. They did trun off the ceiling fans but the AC was still running and you would think they would turn it off to save money when it's cool outside.
Well worth the visit....... we go periodically! Especially on celebration days
Great food, great atmosphere!
