The lunch and breakfast buffets were excellent, especially considering it was buffet style. Tasted fresher than plate service. Stephen and Ashleigh were probably the best servers I have ever had the pleasure to come across. Comfortable chairs and great music. As a guest at the hotel (Founders Inn), I completely enjoyed my stay. However, Swan Terrace Grill was the biggest highlight. Definitely looking forward to coming back. Even if it is just for a meal.
Food was of poor quality. We offered critiques from our last visit and no improvements were made . The NY strip was over done and tough. We requested med rare but were told it only is offered as med. The so called fingerling potatoes were tasteless . The broccollini was charred snd skimpy. . Desert was awful. Commented to waitress on steak quality and were ignored. Salad was ok
Waste of money! We made reservations for New Year’s Eve. Our server wore her mask under her chin while sniffling and wiping her nose. We made note of this and she wore it under her runny nose! Several employees were not following COVID protocol. The server brought us a cheese plate; as we were eating, she took it from us saying she made a mistake that it was for another table. Hopefully, she didn’t take them the plate that we had already touched. The dessert was inedible! The rose water pudding was a gelatinous blob that tasted just like an accidental spray of perfume in the mouth. The prix fixe cost was $190 which included a mandatory tip. The service and food were worth about $10. Save your hard-earned money and find another establishment!
Underwhelmed by the food options and overwhelmed by the number of people at the facility. It's a beautiful place but we were seated in a noisy section so we could not hear the piano player. Plus we were seated near a screaming baby
Umm for a $50 per person buffet I expected higher quality food and more selection. Brunch items ( eggs, bacon, sausages ) were either overcooked or greasy. You could wad the eggs up and make a softball out of them they were so overcooked. Biscuits were dry and these were the ones in gravy. The seafood bisque was just corn as I and others in my party detected no seafood. The other seafood selections consisted of barely smoked salmon and steamed shrimp. My husband who does not eat meat or dairy made a meal of the dressing and roasted root vegetables and fruit bar. My son who is usually ravenous would not go back for seconds. Bill was 315 for a party of four and none of us were at all satisfied. Bill included the 20 gratuity for the server bringing us drinks and the check. I didn’t mind gratuity but 50 bucks for bringing out water or tea is ludicrous. I was so sorry I picked this place for Christmas dinner over others and would never recommend it or go back.
Very well organized. Quiet, great choices, and clean.
Went for Christmas brunch and while I liked the selection, the food was just good, not on par with price.
I was very disappointed this year. There was a long line even if you had reservations. The food was disappointing. There was no Turkey, the bacon was raw, the rolls were cold. There were not traditional Xmas desserts. No pumpkin pie or pecan pie or apple pie. The person making omelette s was
Inexperienced and even commented how he used too much
Having one seating time made for a large indoor crowd. I was concerned about a lack of masks! Food was good. Staff was excellent!
The Christmas Brunch was amazing! There was five us us and the waitress was amazing and very attentive. The food was delish and everyone enjoyed it.
We went there for Christmas brunch. We had been before and enjoyed it, but not this time. The quality and selection of food wasn’t great. Very undercooked bacon, cold biscuits/gravy, lukewarm coffee, etc. Our tablecloth had food stains on it. Just not a great experience. Definitely can’t recommend this at $52.95 a person.
Very nice way to spend Christmas morning!
We were very dissatisfied. Service was terrible for our drinks. We will not be going back.
Great Buffet selection for Christmas Eve and the staff was amazing!
Our Christmas Eve dinner was wonderful. The memories of our experience will last for many years.
Always a treat! Emily (our server), though spread too thin, is gracious and very conscientious! The food was mediocre, but the experience more than made up for it!
We have eaten at Swan Terrace quite a few times, this was absolutely horrible! The food was cold, and tasteless. The last few years we have done Pasta nights and this was terrible! No appetizers, only three desserts, no choices of meat on the buffet and the made to order pasta was not very good. The hot choices were dried out and congealed, I was so disappointed! They hardly put up any decorations as they have in years past. Everything looked tired and not even representative of the Hilton Tapestry Collection. I’m not sure I will go back to Swan Terrace, definitely not the up scale restaurant it use to be. It was absolutely the worst meal I have ever eaten! Don’t waste your money!
Such a lovely room with great ambiance! The food choices: outstanding. Sadly, the hot choices for food was lukewarm! Server was wonderful but spread way too thin.
Poor quality food. Wait staff smelled of cigarette smoke. Majority of diners in sweatpants and sweatshirts.
Limited menu, waiter overwhelmed. The hotel is beautiful. I would not recommend the res.
Food choices were very limiting amd temperature of meat was warm and not hot
Celebrating a special birthday
Founder's Inn dining is lovely. Atmosphere great, food good, service excellent.
Our family enjoyed a wonderful Pasta dinner during Pasta Night at the Swan Terrace.
The atmosphere was relaxing and the service was superb. This evening started our Holiday celebrations and may have started a new tradition.
Swan Terrace is a wonderful dinning experience.
There is a disconnect with your reservation service and rhe Swan. For Sunday brunch you show 3 times slots prior to 1130am. They will not allow you into the restaurant prior to 1130. I made a reservation for 1100am and could not enter plus they said I did not have a reservation even though I showed them my email confirmation from you.
What a beautiful Thanksgiving dinner. Everything was perfect!
Wonderful experience, will go again every year! Food was delicious and was very elegant.
Absolutely loved it!
It was our first time doing the Thanksgiving buffet at Swan Terrace. It was absolutely amazing. We were in the ballroom. The setup was beautiful and spacious. Food was delicious but the service was the icing on the cake. Everyone was so gracious, helpful and on top of everything ! Kudos to all involved. We will definitely be back
Thanksgiving dinner with all the works served buffet style. Full house. Beautifully decorated for the holidays.
Went for lunch not realizing there would be no menu service, only buffet-style service. For a buffet, where the food is not made to order and sits out, the food was pretty good but the value for the money was not very good.
We had gone to this restaurant several years back to celebrate a 50th anniversary. Wow …. What a fall from grace. From fine dining to one step above Denny’s. Maybe the biggest decline I’ve been Ben seen.
The menu had 3 entree’s. Frozen to table. Service was none existent, Food quality is bad. Tremendous decline. Couldn’t wait to get there, couldn’t wait leave.
My family and I absolutely loved this dining experience! We enjoyed the delicious food and the entire staff is just awesome! Thank you to the gentleman that was our host. And the our waitress! My grandson was amazed at the indoor and outdoor experience as we were able to walk around the grounds which are lovely.. The you for the Piano as well!! We’ll be back soon!☺️
Everyone was so nice and the food was excellent! We went for our anniversary!
I was concerned of lack of mask wearing. I specifically picked this restaurant because the website emphasized mask wearing.
I really did appreciate one of our waiters, Nick, who kept his mask on properly the entire time! I felt so much safer when he came to our table. The host was great about keeping her mask on the entire time!
When a restaurant emphasizes mask wearing it means covering mouth and nose. Nick and the host (plus another gentleman who worked there wearing a suit), were wearing their masks properly.
Fortunately, we were away from other tables. This is a beautiful place and, as I mentioned, the food is excellent!
I would feel a lot less stress if everyone followed the mask policy.
Little disappointed in the limited menu, but I do realize it is the time of covid. Very busy in the restaurant with a dog show in town. We will be back, the atmosphere is great and the food is good, just miss the old menu
One of my favorite places to eat! Especially when staying at the Founders Inn, but even if not and in Virginia Beach!
We have been faithful attendees at Swan Terrace for many years and are pleased to say that the quality of the food presented has returned after some months of a decline.
There is something for everyone at this brunch including raw oysters, boiled chilled shrimp and chilled thinly sliced low (salmon), various salads with many accompanying items, five breakfast and dinner items and at least four deserts.
Loved the buffet. Felt very safe. Went early & was able to social distance. Dress went from casual to churchy.
Excellent service from hostess Jennifer and server Yvonne. Great Caesar salad and Thai Chili Shrimp and noodles. Finished with a churro bread pudding. Very convenient- highly recommend.
Wow, quite a spread! Everything was very tasty. I am a southerner so I would have liked some grits and I am sure others would have as well. That's not a complaint mind you, just a suggestion, Everything was really good and I would recommend it to anyone!
