Great little local place. Food was great and service was even better. We met a nice couple there having dinner that gave us a few recommendations.
One of our favorite restaurants always great food and great service.
Good food, great service! Good food, great service!
Great People & Service
IT WAS OK, Covid doesn't help. Good to see them still in business
Despite Open Table allowing reservations to be made, the restaurant was closed due to the COVID-19 epidemic. Should have called the restaurant to confirm they were open
This restaurant had really tasty food that was reasonably priced and fantastic cocktails.
Nice to check this place out. Service and food were very good. I was quite pleased. Apps and mains were tasty and had selections for everyone!
Foundation Restaurant and Bar is an place to have lunch or dinner.
They have shut down, closed the doors
Wasn’t open, they should turn off their res system
I apologize for the lapse in OpenTable . We did not anticipate to be closed for this long and forgot to update the reservation system. We will resume service on Tuesday, October 27th.
They are closed although they allow you to make reservations
It wasn’t even open for business!!!
Food and service always great. They are taking great care to follow all COVID 19 requirements.
Good food. (one of my guests commented 3x how good his French dip sandwich was). God service by very friendly servers and bartender. One or my favorite places in town for lunch lunch or cocktails.
This is our favorite restaurant before a Kings game. We love their food and the service.
Kings game
We came before the Miranda Lambert concert on a Saturday. We were seated immediately for our 5:30 reservation for three people and ordered drinks. The waitress didn't return for almost 30 minutes with our drinks and never even checked on us. Luckily the busser kept refilling our water. We would have ordered a second round of drinks if we received them in time. The food took an hour from the time we ordered to when we received it. We had to ask the busser if our order was put in because our waitress never checked on us. We asked for the check immediately after receiving our food so we weren't late for the 7:00 concert. We ordered the salmon with side salad, chicken club with side salad and foundation burger. Everyone liked the food the service was just terrible that night. I would go back again but definitely for an earlier reservation.
Braised short rib over noodles was great. Good drinks, very good service, fun atmosphere. Risotto was undercooked. We sent it back and they took it off the bill. Going back there the next time we have a concert to attend at Golden 1. Our friends really enjoyed their meals (pork loin). Very good value for the meals. Very reasonably priced.
Four of us came here for a pre-concert dinner and had a wonderful time. Took them a little longer than it should to get seated with reservations and it was a pretty good wait for the server to get the table. After that it was excellent from then on. Drinks were great, appetizers and dinner were excellent. The doughnut holes were a wonderful treat afterwards. We will be back!! If you are doing anything at Golden 1, this is a great place to start your night!!
Have dinner there several times before Kings games. Waiter remembers us.
Very busy with the Kings game that night but we had no issues with service and the food was great.
for the money a nice place, service great, food portions massive, food quality good
Tried the restaurant the day after Valentine’s Day. It was understandably busy. The food was slow to come to the table but it was fine. The odd thing was their way of handling leftovers. The waitress would disappear with the plate and very slowly packaged leftovers would return. I noticed the same thing with several customers . When our turn came it took so long to bring the packaged leftovers back that we left before the we got the leftovers back. The service was not that good.
Went on Valentine’s Day. Had the grilled artichokes for app and it was pretty good. For dinner they were not really prepared. First they were out of mashed potatoes and said we can replace with any other side. I picked the parmesan risotto and my wife picked Brussels sprouts. Then they said they are out of B sprouts so she chose asparagus. She had the braised short rib which she liked. I had the New York steak which I did not like. It was drowning in sauce and pretty much raw. The risotto was not risotto. It was pretty much undercooked white rice. No Parmesan flavor, really no flavor and crunchy. They took half off my dinner which was ok with me. Just need to be more prepared for special occasions like Valentines. Server was really nice but cook should of never sent my plate like that.
Great service. Food was ok. Drinks strong
Great menu for Valentine’s Day
Mash potatoes arrived cold with our New York steak, all entrees were inconsistent in size and presentation but we made the best of it and our waiter was good but problems in the kitchen
I had only been to this restaurant previously for happy hour. We chose this restaurant for Valentine’s Day because we didn’t want a pre-selected menu. The city was awkward and super close to other tables. We requested to move and were told that we cannot have a booth, as they were reserved for parties of four. However during the rest of our dining experience, multiple couples were then seated at these same booths. My husband enjoyed his steak, but my steak salad was super dry and not flavorful at all. I would only return here for drinks at happy hour in the future. Not impressed as a dinner venue.
Anniversary
We were early to our reservation time. The restaurant was about 40% full. There was one waiter for our area. We had to wait nearly 20 minutes just for water, and more for our orders to be taken, even though in my reservation I specified we were attending a show (told the waiter as well). Food was alright.
Great food and service always!
There was a little bit of a wait for the main entree, but the waiter was always checking to see if there was anything else we needed. It was well worth the wait. The food was very tasty.
I arrived 10 minutes early for my reservation (2 people) and was promptly seated, then I was ignored. after 5 minutes the guy serving water came by and gave us water. The waitress never came by and proceeded to take orders from two tables(2 people each).
Subsequently, we decided to leave and I have written a negative review on Yelp and posted a negative review on my Facebook that I will NEVER go back to this place.
This place should clearly not be on a must visit unless it is the last restaurant available after a nuclear explosion..and that is eve iffy.
We started with the artichoke appetizer. It was tender and tasty and turned out to be an excellent choice. My husband had the braised short ribs. They were some of the best he has ever had. I chose the pork loin. The flavor was amazing but it was a tad overcooked and that made it a little dry. It was served with some fried potato slices.
The menu has plenty of options. We will definitely e going back. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable and that’s always a plus in my book.
It was our first dining experience at Foundation restaurant. We were early for our reservation but we were seated promptly. We thoroughly enjoyed the three course meals that were the specials offered that week.
Our server, Rachel ensured our dinner time went smoothly and made us want to return again!
Had high expectations for the foundation restaurant and bar and it was just blah. Nothing special. Won’t be going back.
The entrance to this restaurant was a little hard to find, but once you found it, the place is cozy. They bright white lights decorating the outside of the building shines at night. I was a bit early for my reservation for Dine in Sacramento to meet my friends. The waiter was very friendly and moved a chair so my wheelchair could easily sit at the table. I decided on an appetizer of fried artichokes and Brussel sprouts. I did not like the artichokes, they didn’t have any “meat” on the leaves. The Brussel sprouts were warm and were cooked with bacon. Delicious. My friends arrived and we ordered off the prepared menu. I chose the spicy green beans for my appetizer. They warmed you up and the sauce cooled you down. Next came the entree which was the braised short ribs on mashed potatoes with a reduced red wine sauce. The meat was so tender you could pull it apart with your fork. The last course was dessert of chocolate brownie pie. I almost lost my etiquette by wanting to lick the plate of dark chocolate and caramel sauce. I didn’t. I would recommend you coming here if not for food they have a selection of classic and modern cocktails.
Upon arrival, we were quickly seated. I began the meal with the Korean BBQ Short Ribs. They were tender and perfectly barbecued. They were served on a bed of delicious, yet slightly spicy coleslaw. I ordered the ranch pork loin. It was sliced into several pieces and served on a bed of Yukon potatoes that were thinly sliced and fried (maybe) along with button mushrooms all in a truffle glaze sauce. I cleaned the plate. For dessert we chose the decadent chocolate brownie and again it was delicious. The other diner chose the fried green beans which were surprisingly crisp and delicious. For the entree, the short ribs were chosen served over mashed potatoes and carrots. The short ribs melted in her mouth. The Foundation has been a favorite over the years. It never disappoints, whether it's dine downtown week or you are ordering off the standard menu. We also had cocktails which were great to the last drop. Our server's recommendations based on our likes were perfect. The service was excellent. We were given time to go over the menu. Each time we were ready for the next course, poof, it was there. The Foundation is one of our "go to" dining establishments. Try it if you haven't already. Truly, you won't be sorry.
30 minutes to get our drink and then all our food, apps, salad and entree came at once. Horrible waitress
