Fornos of Spain
It was great but had to wait like 35 plus min with a reservation for 2 on a Wednesday night and it wasn’t full . A little annoyed at that .
Great place food is excellent.
Revisiting after 15 years! Love the food!
First time at this restaurant. Very impressed by the lush, detailed decor. The service was impeccable, very well staffed. The food we ordered was terrific and the servers were always bringing extras. Tasty bread, very nice salad and olives were brought to the table after we sat. We ordered an appetizer of thick bacon (pork belly?), cheese & figs (can’t remember the name). It was delicious. We had Orange Duck and Paella Valencina (sp?). Both delicious and filling. We were too full to order dessert but they brought us yummy cinnamon churros with pots of warm melted chocolate. Heavenly!
Our plates and silverware were replaced after each course and drinks were attended to swiftly. They did not rush the service even though the restaurant was filling up. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Forno's is always great. We had to wait a bit even though we had a reservation. When I made it, I indicated that we were celebrating a birthday. While there, I asked them to sing HBD to my wife. They did it at other tables but didn't happen. But they did comp the dessert. Anyway - just a great, great restaurant. Can't wait to go again soon.
Food still delicious but it has gotten expensive but every restaurant has. Go there for the shrimp in garlic sauce. Still great.
been there several time and it is always great! Food, Service and the Sangria!
We love this place! The food is amazing as well as their service. Can't wait to go back!
Delicious food and excellent service as always. Our favorite restaurant in Newark.
Portions are not very large compared to the rest of the area. Food is good. Ambiance is nothing to write home about. I ussually go to Spain, the food is better with very large portions, but the decore is worse, but the family loves the leftover!
Great customer service, good food & servers are friendly & professional. You'll be treated with care & respect. Would definitely visit again.
We went for lunch on our way back from the city. Always consistently good. Less crowded and noisy at lunch.
A real winner.
Service was attentive but the food took a bit longer than normal to come out. The Grilled Octopus appetizer was overcooked. The cod fritters were delicious. The mariscada in green sauce was under seasoned, the rice was slightly burnt, but he spanish potatoes were perfect. Dessert was great as was the coffee.
FOOD WAS GOOD, LI TTLE NOISY BUT ALL AROUND NICE.
Always an excellent choice with exceptional food and service. Wish we lived closer so we could go more often.
Always a great meal and excellent service.....great drinks too!
Keep in mind this is a very busy place 7 nights a week, so get used to a packed noisy dining room. With that being said, Forno's has a great reputation in the area, and you won't leave hungry thats for sure. I like taking my family or friends here before a game or event at the Pru Center, down the street. Its a nice way to begin the night. Only downside, its in a really rough neighborhood, but nothing you can do about that.
Celebrated my mothers birthday. The food was great, the ambiance was loud but nice, and the staff were courteous despite being overwhelmed by larger tables on a Sunday evening. Definitely would recommend and will be back again.
Our home away from home. Been steady customers since 2016. Nowhere else compares.
Awesome service , ambience the food was very good and plentiful.
Celebrated son's 21st birthday. His NY Steak was savory, just right.
Chicken Marsala and Francaise were tender and flavorful. Service was outstanding, very attentive and accommodating.
Small friends reunion
Great like always
Loved the food and the wait staff, who were surprisingly on top of everything.. We had 4 diff servers come to us at varied times and they all seem to kick in as needed.. The back room was incredibly noisy and that was really our only problem with the place. Parking was a bit tricky as well because the cars were backed up in the street sometimes blocking traffic.
Food is excellent and plenty of it. The timing of service was great, no rush and no long waits between courses.
Great food, beautiful restaurant, wonderful experience.
Great dinner and great service. Order the sangria
As always to food was divine, with 2 exceptions - the asparagus were so tough cutting them was a problem and the sausage dish ordered was charred and tasted burnt. The dimmest lighting may add ambience to some but made it near impossible to see the menu, even using the phone app. The noise level was pretty high for a weeknight, and I was a bit disappointed that the outdoor seating was not available as the tables inside are close together. Also as much as I love attention from waitstaff the constant (~every 5 minutes) having someone replenish our water or ask if we were done when we repeatedly said we were still eating was VERY annoying.
Great service and great environment. Great food and great service.
The service staff is a little 'rough' in their delivery. The wine list needs to be kept up to date. The food and value were great!
First time back to Fornos since Pandemic. Service is still impeccable. Clean flatware replaced without asking, serving utensils provided with shared foods. Prices seem to have gone up a lot. Portions are still substantial, but I felt the quality of food and preparation were not as good as before. My husband had the lobster cannelloni which were filled with a mostly filler “lobster” stuffing. He left most of it. Octopus was delicious but expensive. The house salad, always very fresh, had terrible tomatoes. No excuse this time of year. My daughter had salmon which she liked and I had the Dorade special which could have been cooked less. The side vegetables were very salty and the yellow rice side was very greasy. My husband’s almond cake dessert was still somewhat frozen. My son-in-law had oxtail stew which he said was good. The fried potatoes were fabulous! The restaurant was very crowded but many patrons wore masks when not at their tables. The number of people still made me a little uncomfortable. Personnel are always very nice and accommodating .
One of the most outstanding restaurants I have been in !! Amazing from beginning to the end . Food is amazing and the service even better. Just Unbelievable dining experience
It was fabulous as always!
My favorite restaurant. Food is great, service is generally very attentive (our waiter got off to a slow start, then we had excellent service) Every entree was excellent. We decided that we would skip desery, then was treated to chrros and an incredible dark chocolate dipping souce. It is getting expensive but, as my sister said, she was leaving with several more meals.
The place was great. Food was great. Service was great. Valet parking was a plus.
We had a reasonable experience. Avoid the meatball appetizer, however the bacon appetizer worth the calories! Chef. Accommodated our garlic allergy at the table in the paella and THAT alone will be our reason for returning! We loved that salad was automatically provided, a small dessert was free, and that the wait staff was attentively always available.
Treat with my cousin
excellent service ,There was a lot of people ,restroom were clean
Always delivers expert service and great food!
Food was excellent; service was top notch
