Bricks & Barrels is a steak and seafood experience voted three consecutive years as Charleston's Favorite Restaurant in the annual People's Choice Awards. The Mediterranean Chicken was nominated for Charleston's best dish by The Food Guy, a local food critic: bone-in chicken breast braised in capers, figs and olives created a beautiful symphony of flavors (sweet, tart, salty, earthy) on a colorful, gorgeously presented plate."     Bricks and Barrels should be renamed, "Salty's Bricks and Barrels". No saltshaker on the table but plenty of salt put on entrees. Server, Benjamin W was excellent. He was knowledgeable, timely and skilled. The swordfish with bourbon glaze was good. Rice was terrible! Had to ask for Chef Mario's special Cowboy butter to bring the rice some flavor. The beets and cheese were a nice offering, but the cheese overwhelmed the beets, greens and nuts. You should offer it as a "side order". The portion size was fabulous but too much cheese. The Gold Rush drink was super! The Cheesecake with fresh fruit was perfect. The private bourbon barrel booth was very novel.

    The Varsity Club gave us a great meal in terms of food. The She Crab Soup was good and full of crab. The Schoolhouse Salad was a great salad. We had the pork chop and trout. Both were excellent. The only negative was the service. I’m pretty sure there was only one server for the entire restaurant and the dining room was about 80% full. There were definitely some assistants, but only one woman was taking orders, etc. we waited 27 minutes before our order was taken. Food was great. But there need to be several more servers.

    Great restaurant nestled away in the center of Summersville. It's a really good find with fantastic food and amazingly friendly staff. We ate dinner hear during our visit to West Virginia and reviews did not disappoint us. The restaurant itself needs a bit updating and more warm ambiance, but that's nothing compared to a great menu selections cooked to perfection.

    This bar was special. Loved the cocktails and pie- both very tasty. There was so much effort and thought put into each detail of the rooms and cocktails.
