The food was incredible. We got the 6 course tasting menu and everything they brought out was amazing.
We had a wonderful time. The staff was incredibly attentive and the food was delicious. They made our dining experience memorable.
Wonderful complexity in all of the entrees and appetizers. An excellent place to celebrate a special event.
My young friend is leaving Friday to ski the French Alps over UVA’s spring break. A bon voyage meal à la Française. Attentive, knowledgeable wait staff, carefully prepared dishes, great wine recommendations, low noise level, best Pavlova this side of Sydney. A memorable evening out.
Expensive but excellent ambiance, service and the food was above average. I will return for special occasions.
This was our first visit to Fleurie and we had a lovely evening. The food and service was amazing. We will definitely be back and hopefully at a time when it is warm enough to eat outside.
Our server, an attractive young woman, was very, very professional, knowledgeable, sweet, helpful, etc. etc.
Our experience with the 6 course meal with wine parings far exceeded our expectations. I decided that I don't ever have to go back to the Inn at Little Washington with Fleurie right here in my home town. I want to extend my deepest appreciation for giving us such a divine dining experience!
This was our second visit to Fleurie, and it did not disappoint. We opted for the 5 course tasting menu, and we brought our own bottle of wine. The restaurant itself is a little tight size-wise, but the ambiance is very nice and the noise level is good.
The first course was foie gras, which was excellent. The last time we visited we had a foie gras mousse paired with pomegranates, which was insanely good. That said, this version was still very nice on the palate, which a consistency of soft butter, which melted in my mouth.
Second course was a rabbit gelee, which was a bit of an acquired taste from a textural standpoint. It was my least favorite course, but it still provided great flavors. Third course was a butter poached lobster with dijon mousse and candied nuts. Everything went well together, and the lobster was prepared perfectly.
Fourth course was a guinea hen with assorted greens. The hen was tender and the skin was crisp and flavorful. Fifth course was a lamb dish served with eggplant puree and beans. It was a delicious and hearty dish. The lamb was a perfect medium rare and very tender. The entire dish went together very well.
The dessert course was unique...swiss chard tart, along with a salted caramel tartlet and ice cream. It all worked together quite nicely; just a combination you don't see very often.
Overall, we had a great experience, and will definitely be back again. If you are in the Cville area and want to treat yourself to a great dinner, this is the place to be.
Our party of four had dinner here Friday night. We were immediately greeted at the door. The service was thorough but not intrusive. The waitstaff was very knowledgeable and responsive. We enjoyed the amuse bouche and had a variety of opening courses, all well done. Two of us had the lobster entrée, one the eggplant, and one the risotto special. The vegetarian options were not an afterthought, as is often the case. Desserts were delicious and in reasonable proportion. And you could actually hear one another talk and not be so closely crowded that your tripped over other patrons! Great experience.
Three of us had a fabulous dinner here on Wednesday night. The food was delicious- we had sweetbreads, chestnut soup and clam risotto as appetizers and an eggplant dish, lobster in pastry and scallops as our main courses. The sommelier was AMAZING. She helped us with our food selections and paired them with fabulous wines. We were too full to order dessert, but were delighted to receive a plate of tiny tarts and chocolate truffles- with a small glass of dessert wine- for free. We will definitely return the next time we are in Charlottesville!
A good choice for a special occasion. Service and dining with gracious ambiance. Quiet and focus on the food and service.
Fleurie is so great we have to resist going there more often so as to not spoil our experience. We never go someplace on February 14, instead we go day prior or after. We were delighted to still have the Valentines Day options menu! And we are always thankful for the matching wine pairings which we could never do in our own. OBTW, I had the best oysters on the half shell I’ve ever had! Tasty meat greatly enhanced by the sauce.
Amazing! Went some place else first that was horrible we walked out and then stumbled across this place. They were able to seat us right away on Valentines and really made the day so special. Thank you!
Extremely overpriced. $250 for 2 of us to eat 4 courses of tiny proportions.
From the moment we arrived for our first dinner at Fleurie, we were treated like celebrities! We chose to order à la carte, but the tasting menu looked wonderful. Our server was especially gracious and very well informed about the wines, the food, and even which vineyards we should visit new C'ville! Every course was perfectly prepared, beautifully plated, and absolutely delicious. Best three hours of exceptional dining we have experienced in a long time.
If you're tempted by Fleurie, be forwarned. The place was mobbed well ahead of time on Valentine's day. So we opted for the day before. Whether to go depends on your mood and your wallet. Very much a New York-like operation, more about style than substance. It's intimate, cozy, and expensive, and great for making first impressions. The food is beautifully rendered, if not often as flavorful as it looks. Servings are small, and some of the appetizers barely last for more than 1-2 bites. But everything was beautiful, and tasted well above OK. We are "satisfied" with it as a special occasion (Valentine's), but it will take a while before we choose it again. Charlotesville has too many fine restaurants for the picking.
We expected it to be expensive and it was. It was so loud that table conversation was difficult. The food was good but not so that it was worth the price. The service was extraordinary
One of the stand out "special occasion" restaurants in Charlottesville for at least a decade. We love it!
Always a great experience at Fleurie. We especially appreciate the “2 Chrises.”
We went for restaurant week, so it was very busy, but the hostess sat us immediately and even allowed us to move our table away from the door to get out of the draft. The food was delicious and our server very attentive. Overall a great experience!
The food was absolutely fabulous. And the gluten free options were plentiful and so delicious! The staff was amazing and I can't wait to go back!
Fleurie continues to be our favorite Cville restaurant. Food is always excellent and the service is superb, perhaps the best we've encountered anywhere. Tight spaces between tables never seem to interfere with the smooth movement of staff to serve; all are attentive but not intrusive. While generally full or almost so, the tone is a pleasant hum so conversation is easy.
Wonderful food, great service. My wife and I took our daughter and son in law out for a great dinner at Fleurie. It’s always a pleasure. The service is friendly and professional. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. The desserts are wonderful as well. They have an excellent wine list and a good selection of wines by the glass. My only complaint is that the white wine we ordered really wasn’t chilled enough.
Fabulous as always. No one prepares scallops better than Fleurie!
Service was outstanding! Food delicious as always and even better value with restaurant week. I love this restaurant
As always, when we want a really nice night dining out we choose Fleurie. That is saying something --- Cville has a bunch of good dining options.

Very good food, service, ambiance. The draft each time the door opened was very uncomfortable. They need to take care of that problem!
Dinner was delicious, correct temperature and not hurried even though it was restaurant week. We were even seated side by side which helped with our conversation-thank you!
Restaurant week, portions very small, very efficient, great wine suggestion. Food very well prepared, would try again for pretheater menu to see if different, like their bistro even better.
Amazing service and amazing food. Would definitely go back
Great food! Would come again.
Food is always excellent, although I must say their amuse bouche was mediocre at best. This was restaurant week so the place was packed. Service was ok - friendly but slow. Lobster bisque was very good. SCallops were prepared perfectly. Of the surf and turf plate, turf was better than surf. Creme brulee was very good. They have decaf cappucino, which is hard to find in this town. Points off for how noisy this place is AND how close the tables are to one another. This is a bad combination.
Lovely time! Thank you!
Went here for restaurant week with my fiancé, the three course meal we selected from their menu was incredible. Perfect wine to go with it, too!
Always wonderful. Appropriately attentive staff and food is always delicious and innovative. Love the little extras: gratis small appetizers and sweets after the meal. Great wine selection too. Our favorite place to come for Restaurant Week twice a year.
This is a delightful little gem in the heart of downtown. One of the most outstanding and delicious meals I've had in years. These folks are superb chefs and the total experience was far more than I ever expected.
I always feel special and pampered. The music matches the calm, elegant ambiance. The wait staff is most knowledgeable and unobtrusive. Their suggestions and explanations were spot on. The food is delicious and beautifully presented and prepared. The chestnut soup was a welcomed treat. A wonderful dining experience!
We visited Fleurie for our anniversary. Our first French restaurant. We ordered the tasting menu which is a 6-course meal. Most of the food we have never tried, but all of it was excellent, of course we had our favorites. Service was outstanding, staff was friendly and knowledgeable. It had great ambiance and the noise level was very tolerable.
The best meal we have had here...and they are always good. The scallops were cooked to perfection and it was an ample portion. The lobster vol au vent was excellent and creative. Great wine list. Top notch service.
