Excellent restaurant with attentive efficient staff, delicious food carefully prepared. Extensive selection of wines, beer and drinks.
We took advantage of the "theater menu" which got us to the concert with plenty of time to spare.
The seats were uncomfortable but everything else was close to perfect.
We were visiting Charlottesville from Chicago. Fleurie is the Best French restaurant in the area and within many others in the United States. Excellent food, ingredients, preparation, and presentation. Service is outstanding and the ambiance is relaxing.
Lobster bisque was amazing! The staff was very detail oriented and very knowledgeable.
Best restaurant in Charlottesville. It transports you. Food and service are absolutely second to none. They really know how to make a birthday celebration extra special!
This is our favorite restaurant in Charlottesville. The food is creative and consistently excellent. The ambiance is cozy and inviting and the service is professional and courteous. What more can we ask for?
Charming, small restaurant with first rate service and an excellent menu. Unplanned, we dined during restaurant week and were impressed by every dish. The gnocchi and lobster bisque and the surf and turf (lobster and roast beef) were well prepared and attractively plated. The desserts were works of art. Will definitely return.
Quality of food and presentation is superb. Service so professional and never misses a beat. Best dining in Charlottesville!
Fleurie is terrific restaurant. The food is always interesting and beautifully prepared. I started with a risotto in squid ink with then slices of chorizo and my wife had a lovely beet salad with horseradish sorbet. My salmon main course was perfect as was my wife's chicken. Delicious desserts. A good wine list, craft cocktails and very professional service.
Fleurie is on the pricier side, but well worth it for special occasions, the food is delicious!
The food is innovative with beautiful presentation. The roasted beet salad with horseradish sorbet was a tastebud delight. The service was excellent with knowledgeable staff who were attentive. The noise level was low.
Great food excellent service. Lobster bisque top of the line.
This is the third time we have been to Fleurie and as usual it was amazing. Incredible service, knowledgeable servers (she recommended the best wine pairing I have ever had), and absolutely INCREDIBLE food. This place is a treasure and if you like creative and delicious dishes, you must give Fleurie a try.
Wonderful night out during Restaurant Week. We enjoyed lobster bisque, surf & turf, scottish salmon, and creme brûlée, each item perfectly cooked and elegantly presented. Service was outstanding. Thank you for a wonderful dining experience!
Perfect atmosphere for our 25th anniversary! The food was amazing.
Foof was excellent however portion(main course) was very small. Suggest skipping extras and adding to main course
Our first visit to Fleurie proved to be a smashing success. The Restaurant Week menu included so many appealing options that we had a hard time choosing. Everything was expertly prepared in the classic tradition with a modern flair. Service was attentive without being obtrusive. We will definitely return to sample the regular menu.
The service was outstanding but the food was not. The salad we had was good and abundant. However the salmon was maybe 3 oz and that was it and the chicken was ordinary and not hot.
Loved everything about this restaurant and our meal there. It was a culinary delight for the senses! And must say it was one of the best meals I have ever had. The service was impeccable, too. Our waitress paid such wonderful attention to detail, straightening our utensils when the entrees arrived, making sure our water glasses were placed just so. We were very impressed.
Great atmosphere with amazing service and food. Pricey but worth each penny of it!
Wonderful food and great service. Always a treat to experience the flavor combinations and the calm service.
Elegant yet friendly, helpful service. Perfectly prepared offerings.
Nicely presented and wonderfully prepared food. We loved the lobster bisque, the salad, the scallops, and the desserts. Service was attentive.
We love Fleurie, but we came last Saturday evening and we were put right in front of the kitchen. The host moved us to the table next one over. Service was impeccable as always, but we were blown away by Melissa, she’s awesome! Unfortunately our lobster bisque was cold and my Wagyu steak, which was $85 , had no taste at all, no seasoning. The chestnut soup was way too sweet, could be a dessert soup. Otherwise our dinner was nice, but will be taking a break for awhile.
Neal, the Head Service Manager at The Inn at Little Washington, told us that one of the former chefs there was now at Fleurie in Charlottesville. We were headed to Charlottesville the next day so we booked a table at Fleurie via Open Table. Fleurie is on the Pedestrian Mall in Charlottesville. It was very cold with about 5” of snow on the ground and that Tuesday night the Pedestrian Mall was deserted but Fleurie was warm and welcoming with most tables occupied. We had a wonderful evening. The food was delicious and with a picture perfect presentation. The service was delightful, helpful and efficient. The wine list was varied with a good selection and numerous varietals. Our evening was truly splendid and I would highly recommend Fleurie whenever your travels take you to Charlottesville!
Service was excellent from start to finish!
My scallop dinner was good but not amazing. My husbands duck WAS amazing.
Wish we had known we were getting a complementary little chocolates dessert in advance, would not have needed to order the other dessert. Coffee was tepid but did not complain as it was end of evening.
A lovely fine dining experience for the most part!
I hoped when I indicated on the reservation that this was a birthday dinner that we might have a chance at a nice table, but we were seated right next to the fairly loud kitchen. The service was pretty prompt & they let us have our table fifteen minutes early (5:45). I was disappointed that the waiter had to be asked to provide us with the pre-theater menu: Fleurie should know that most customers at an expensive restaurant don't like to make a big deal of the fact they're on a budget. All that said, the food was excellent--the lobster bisque in particular, one of the best soups I'd ever had.
This is an outstanding restaurant. The food and service was impeccable. We also liked the small and cozy feeling of the restaurant. We will be back!
Wonderful doesn't really seem adequate. Wonderful meal, beginning to end. Thank you to the entire staff. Fabulous execution of all dishes. We will be back. If you are in Charlottesville, this is a must!
Fabulous dinner with excellent service.
Our waiter was especially attentive without hovering. He got to know our preferences and made suggestions to assist us with our selections.
My husband and I went to Fleurie to celebrate my birthday. The dishes were amazing and the service was very attentive.
We had a fabulous evening celebrating our anniversary. The venue reminded us of restaurants in Europe. The service was outstanding, we had at least 4 waiters, all very attentive and never intrusive. The food delicious My only suggestion would be to have a more traditional French salad to come with the entre rather than an a la carte salad. The lobster bisque was great, and the chef's special desserts following the meal were a delightful surprise. We cannot wait to return.
Excellent food, terrific service, wonderful atmosphere... This is our go-to restaurant when we would like somewhere fabulous to dine.
This is a return visit to Fleurie and once again it was wonderful. The service was impeccable, the food delicious, and the ambience was very nice. The wine list is huge with lots of variety and this time we relied on the recommendation of the wine steward and his suggestion was terrific. We had a great time and will definitely be back again. In this part of the state it has no peer, and although I am sure there are good French restaurants in Washington DC and Charlotte, I am not aware of any better.
Amazing food and staff. Phenomenal wine as well.
We were in Charlottesville for Christmas, and had a wonderful dinner on Saturday Dec 22. But Lo! It came to pass that Fleurie was open on Sunday Dec 23 (usually closed on Sunday). So of course we returned the next day for a second dinner. We had the steak tartare with caviar (again!), the gnocchi, the polenta cake, and then for dessert, the apple tart with vanilla ice cream (with a glass of Calvados) and the passionfruit cheesecake. All dishes were paired with wine director Melissa's unfailing expertise. Fleurie is a food lover's heaven.
Incredible food, attentive service, exquisite wine list, and wonderful ambiance.
The vegetarian tasting menu is always deliciously unique. Service is impeccable. A definite favorite of ours.
The restaurant entrance was imposing but insufficient to offset two mundane meals.
The appearance raised expectations of this French restaurant.
Portions were frugal and not well flavored, unlike the former Gordonsville, Pomme or French restaurants in the NY/NJ metro area.
Lobster was flat , watery, tasteless & devoid of flavor though the surrounding rice was well flavored.
Quail was tough and appeared to not have been freshly prepared. Stuffing was pedestrian.
French restaurants in our experience offer highly prepared , very flavored meals.
The bill of $186 or so was exorbitant for two meagre, albeit well decorated meals.
We cannot recommend Fleurie or return for another try.
