Everything tasted great, really fresh ingredients and amazing combinations of flavour. The cocktails are delicious. The service was good to start off with but did tail off towards the end - took a while to get the bill and drinks after food had arrived. It was friendly service though.
Recommend the tasting menu if you can’t decide, it had good variety and was delicious and filling.
We’ve previously loved Flesh and Buns’ Sunday brunch so we’re disappointed to discover their brunch offer had considerably changed last weekend.
The food remains great, but the service also let it down last weekend. We knew we had a 2hr window, but we’re constantly reminded of it during the meal and even had the mains arrive when we hadn’t finished the starters! Shame because it ruined our appreciation of the food.
Won’t be coming back for the brunch unfortunately.
Consistently great food, bao buns in particular are delicious
Excellent selection of food options. Very good "modern" Japanese food. Great lively ambience.
I've been here 3 times and the food is authentic, well presented and delicious. The Korean fried wings are a must. Could eat those every day.
Great food and good price
My favourite restaurant in London. I use any excuse to book a table & eat my weight in buns. Service is always excellent.
Very lovely restaurant. Wanted to find a place that was authentic and this definitely ticks that box. Went for lunch when it was quiet. Ordered Buns and sushi, all was delicious! Highly recommend this spot and the staff were lovely.
The only downside i have is that it is quite expensive. i had lunch for 2 and it cost £90, but that did include two cocktails, starters and mains.
Overall Lovely experience, would definitely go again, but be a bit smarter when ordering as a lt of food was left over.
Great food, great service and reasonably priced. £60 for 2 people, starters, mains and drinks. All the dishes we tried were really tasty. The portion sizes of the 'flesh' section are large and the menu as a whole offers a good selection. Will definitely be back
Had a fab time at flesh and buns never been there before and wasn’t sure how to order the staff were brilliant and helped us every step of the way crispy wings and soft crab amazing the music in the back ground the whole experience had the Sunday brunch menu with s’mores to finish awesome
No brunch provided though advertised on opentable. Gutted as we had to do ala Carre which was three times the price
I found the food to be mediocre. The Japanese rolls we ordered were below average. The buns concept is nice, the meat was tender and flavorful, I think they can do better in terms of the sauce options they server with it. Service was quite bad throughout our dinner experience. We were served by too many people who were not well coordinated among them, at times we were having a hard time reaching a waiter. We would have appreciated a bit more support in the ordering process too. All in all service was just disappointing and could have made a big difference in the experience if it was improved.
If you love Japanese food, you can't go wrong with Flesh & Buns <3
Great ambience and evening. Buns are cracking and the sake recommendations are good
We ate supper here on our recent London visit, and my kids requested a second night because they loved it so much. The pork belly buns, the corn, the fried chicken and steak rice were all delicious. The donuts and yuzu tart are outstanding as well!
Perfect food, excellent venue & superb staff..
Really good food - would recommend the smores! Cocktails also delicious.
Food tastes great and staff is very attentive.
Just find it inconvenient that people can't take leftovers away with them.
Quick lunch prior to matinee at nearby Donmar Theatre. Excellent food and drinks.
Food is very tasty, but this place just feels like a money extracting factory. They don’t care about providing a great customer experience, just turning tables as quickly as possible. Table space is very cramped even by London standards, but the worst offence is the obsession with the 2hr table policy. They make a point of announcing it to every table they seat, and literally chased away some people sat next to us. I paid my bill, but I will never return. Manager very pleasant and blamed his bosses for a dumb policy he doesn’t believe in. Sorry Bone Daddies - you’ve lost this customer. I don’t want to feel like I’m on your clock when I go out for dinner.
As soon as you walk through the door this place seems inviting, met with such a beautiful smell, was shown to our tables by a welcoming hostess, food was great, cider was also very nice, just one thing the waiter checking the bun pot was a bit weird when all it takes is someone to ask for more Buns other than that I will definitely be back.
I went there multiple times for dinner and food was great. Then booked a table for lunch and the same food was very poor. Consistency should be maintained, so I was very disappointed. Also, once the staff has started working, it’s quite shocking that everytime you talked to them, they make you feel like you disturbing them.
Lovely spot in Covent Garden for after shopping dinner! The first for the sushi was surprisingly fresh and of good value. I had the pork belly bun and it was divine, ordered an extra portion of sauce! Ambience was very nice however it gets quite loud in the restaurant.
Had a great meal at F&B in between the Harry Potter & the Cursed Child shows. Three adults and one 1yo child. There is no child's menu, but we all shared the food.
We over ordered - esp since the child ordered the fried chicken which is HUGE. It's also ridiculously tasty. There "Flesh" dishes and 2 buns each would have been plenty.
Highly recommend the SMores dessert - 1 for someone with a v sweet tooth, or as you get two big marshmallows and 4x biscuits, easy to share this dessert between 2.
Flavours were out of this world, staff so attentive, experience just lovely.
Highly, highly recommend.
I am Chinese and know a thing or two about buns! But this place can make them soft, steamy and fluffy. Perfect accompaniment to the pork belly, or duck. I wish they would give us a bit more variety in terms of sauces. e.g. a sort of Hoisin sauce would work well. Still, this is one of the best value for money restaurants I have been to for a while. For the lunch time special anyway (£22 for 2 sumptuous courses!!!).
The piglet belly is crispy and generous (size), but the meat part could be a little more moist. But I am being picky because I can do a roast pork belly myself.
Go for the lunch menu and choose 2 different main courses so you can share.
For this little piglet, I chose the kimchi chicken wings as a starter! Way too much food. Delicious.
Chicken wings best ever sooo tastey recommend pre theatre meal Staff very attentive and informative
We went to Flesh and Buns before going to the Donmar Warehouse just next door. This is probably the most convenient restaurant near that theatre and is good because it is really quick so you won't miss the curtain going up (even though the Donmar doesn't have a curtain!). The service is great, food absolutely delicious. I had the pork belly in a bun which was very enjoyable. The aubergine melts in the mouth. The creme brûlée dessert was to die for. We will definitely come again as there is so much on the menu to try.
Our second visit to Flesh & Buns was absolutely fabulous! I started with the Spicy Tuna Roll followed by the Crispy Piglet Belly and both dishes were amazing. I tasted a friend's Japanese Fried Chicken and although it was tasty, I preferred the meal I ordered.
2nd visit with my 9 year old daughter and 18 year old son and loved it once again, great food great staff, ill be back
Just love going there, if I’m in town. And recommend it too all my friends 👫 x
My friend and I really enjoyed Flesh and buns. The food is delicious, particularly loved the broccoli dish
Me and my boyfriend went to Flesh and Buns for his birthday dinner. The food was absolutely delicious, especially the Korean Chicken wings, they might be the best wings I've ever eaten! The service was great, the staff were friendly and very helpful. The only tiny niggle was that the tables were very close together, making it hard to get out and we could also hear every word of the people next to us' conversation.
But overall it's a great restaurant and will definitely return for those wings!
Had the tasting menu - everything on it was delicious and the service was quick and professional - thanks, Andrea! Will definitely be back!
So delicious! First time tried the aubergine bun - unreal!
We didn’t leave anything, every dish was amazing
The food didn't come in the right order which was frustrating and it was quite expansive. However the food was good and the staff friendly. I recommend but it wasn't "the best" experience I have ever had in central London.
Great food, none of which I've ever tried before - the steamed buns were especially delicious. More of a young person's vibe (I'm a middle aged fuddy duddy) but this didn't detract from the food at all. One small criticism is that the service staff were, if anything, too attentive - i.e. it was hard to hold a conversation with staff constantly diving in to refill our glasses, etc. Maybe this is a part of Japanese culture? Overall - really great experience.
We went there twice to make sure we try as many items as possible from the menu. Everything tasted authentic and delicious. The waiters are all very welcoming and friendly. The place isn’t cheap but surely worth it.
The staff were accommodating of our travellers bags, they were all very friendly and the service was exceptional. the bottomless brunch menu was delicious and all served in a very good time frame.
Amazing food, super fun scene, would highly recommend.
