Cool place, great for drinks, pub fare and general hanging out. Friendly service and great location.
Great place for a laid back dining experience.
We got there early on Saturday for brunch. Waiter was friendly but the kitchen lost our order and it took awhile to get our food. Manager offered a round of drinks or dessert. Food was delicious! Definitely will go back.
My boyfriend and I absolutely loved this place. We came for Valentine’s Day and loved every part of dinning here. Also we loved the waiter as well. She was amazing. Sadly I don’t remember her name but she had cute cherry earrings and short hair. Thank you ! We will for sure come back. We also let our friends know about this great place.
Mimosa flighrs are the best.
Definitely a normal spot to go to. Nothing out of the ordinary or super impressive but good. Had the street corn pizza which was a highlight and out waitress was very helpful with helping us make drink selections from their extensive menu.
Our fave go to to take our Tufts son and his friends out for dinner.
Nice options and very tasty fish tacos. Drinks were nice and fancy. A little loud but what restaurant isn’t
Never disappointed by the beer menu here. Love the food too. They have comfort food, but also a couple healthy options. But the beer list is incredible.
Food was great in concept, but somewhat poorly executed eggs. The eggs tasted (and looked) like they were done in the microwave - reminiscent of the kind of eggs you get at McDonald's. I was hoping for a nice runny fried egg with some griddle goodie bits stuck to it, but it was very sterile looking and cooked to the max - no runny yolk and no flavor. It also came out room temperature and soggy at first, but they definitely deserve credit for redoing it for me (I hate asking, but I was super excited for the breakfast club - a fried chicken sandwich with a fried egg between two cheddar chive waffles. The waffles and the chicken were a bit soggy and the egg room temp, but they redid it for me and it was better for sure).
Great burgers! Salmon was cooked perfectly. Sean, our waiter, was super friendly!
Food and service were good
Drinks were below par. Small glasses with too much ice made them feel like watered down shots.
Convenient location, good list of beers on tap, but a tad pricey, many at 9.75/10oz. Food was somewhat disappointing. Powerbowl salad was Ok but turned out to be a pile of spinach with all the other ingredients kind of sitting on the bottom of the bowl--all but the spinach cut to the size of corn kernels. Just a bit weird in the end and not too interesting. Burger was fine, but not exactly notable in any way and was served barely lukewarm--not what you want and made you feel like it was precooked and set aside or something. Service was prompt and considerate so no issues there.
Terrific food and wonderful service. Would definitely recommend it to my friends and family.
This place is really quite good! Everything we had was very good...hangar steak, duck burrito and fiesta tots as an app. Service was a smidge slow, but not too bad. Loved the ambiance and energetic tavern vibe. Good weekend night dinner place!
Good food, very cozy environment and great staff. I will definitely return and recommend it to friends.
Great place to go with a group! Always easy to get a reservation (which definitely is recommended on the weekends). I've tried almost everything on the menu at this point, and it's all delicious! Great cocktails, tasty sangria, great draft list, and the menu is delicious--brunch, lunch, and dinner!
Delicious food, beverages and amazing and friendly service! This place is a gem!
Great service, friendly servers, good food. Would definitely go back!
It was a nice surprise on Christmas night. Service was very good, staff was welcoming. Good experience when you are celebrating Xmas away from home.
Thank you for your recent visit to Five Horses Tavern and for taking the time to review us on Open Table. We are glad you enjoyed your experience and look forward to seeing you again. Please follow us on Facebook, Instagram or Untappd for our updated draft list and upcoming events!
We really appreciated the great service from Ash on Christmas Day!
Awesome food, great location, very creative menu. I will definitely be back with friends!
Five Horses Tavern was my go to spot when I lived in Somerville.
Now returning to Boston as a visitor, it's exactly as I remember. Great beer and drink list, nice variety of food, and each item is a somewhat traditional dish, usually with a creative flair.
Glad to see FHT hasn't changed since I moved away from Boston.
Not sure, why but pictures look better than the food.
Delicious!! Will come back for sure!
It was great, they also brought out dessert cupcakes with a candle discretely for my girlfriends birthday after we finished our meals, and all I had to do was ask and explain in the comment section while submitting reserving - 10/10!!!
We live nearby and we frequent the five horses for the following reasons: The food is quite excellent, well made and fresh, and importantly, has great vegetarian options. In warmer weather you can get a table near the open windows. Drink selection is good as well, especially nice is their sangria. Plus, it’s busy but not too loud. The servers are kind, friendly, and attentive. You should go too!
The foods always good, but for the amount that you get and actually how special or different it is than any other place you could get it, it’s not always worth the $5 more per meal
We've been going to Five Horses since it opened in Davis Square but after all these years, to be able to go back with kids and see that it is a family-friendly place, with understanding and amiable staff, makes us love this place even more. And the food is great, of course!
Great but chili is a bit greasy
Came in here and pleasantly surprised. Came on a Saturday evening had a reservation and was seated within in minutes. There was a wait for walkins.I expected standard pub grub. The meals were significantly better than I expected. The service was excellent. The drinks were excellent.
Delicious , creative dishes, reasonably priced. The buttermilk brined chicken was the tastiest I have enjoyed outside of my own home. While the high energy of the place creates a fun atmosphere, the noise level does make conversations difficult. However, I would definitely return to try other selections from the diverse menu.
Excellent food and service but a bit noisy.
Best comfort food around. Very friendly staff. It’s in close proximity to Tufts, where we visit often. Making it a point to go there again!
We had great service during a peak time on a Friday night. We tried an array of beers, wines, and cocktails in our part of six, and all of us were pleased with our selections. The food was good, but not exceptional. The noise level was extremely loud (e.g. music) which made conversation somewhat difficult, but we enjoyed ourselves nonetheless.
Always my to go to restaurant in Davis Square
Great service, convenient location, great food!
We ended up little late for reservation due to parking. I actually got a call from them to see if we were still coming and they’d hold our table. So nice! Food was great
very friendly service; good beer list; lots of variety in the menu; we had a very nice time.
