WE EVENTUALLY WALKED OUT! One raw bar app, one shrimp cocktail both with some kind of sweet chili dipping sauce that would go with a fried calamari or popcorn shrimp. Two goat cheese salads, neither with goat cheese. Asked for cocktail sauce and lemon, asked for goat cheese. Waiter returns with cheese in two small cups, which is poured on the salad only to discover its Parmesan cheese. Waiter is called over and tells us “there wasn’t goat cheese tonight”. Um, OK, bring us another menu please. Waiting…waiting….Comes back with cocktail sauce they must have had to run out to purchase, and no menu. We won’t bother ordering a replacement for the salad at this point…moving on. Main course entrees: steak tips, two salmon and one scallops. The steak was well done (supposed to be medium rare). Sent back. The scallops are mostly lobster ravioli in a bowl (fine), but they are frozen inside! Send back. Ask to see manager…waiting…waiting. Finally get up to leave. “Manager” walks over from the kitchen and says only “Just go.” Surreal. We ended up having a nice dinner on the other side of town. Only more than an hour after our original reservation time. Glad we’re no longer paying for a babysitter. What’s crazy is we had been to Fish before the pandemic. It was busy and the food was great. This was like coming to a different restaurant. And the kitchen is open-style, so we could see them smiling and shaking their heads as we got up to leave. WTF?! Stay away.

The menu was tatty; the cocktails were listed on a torn and stained piece of paper. The number of items on the menu has been significantly removed and the raw bar had no oysters. We decided to leave without eating; this was one of favorite restaurants before COVID. it is obviously struggling now.

This was always our goto restaurant however since Covid things have changed. Place was very quite for a Friday night and have to assume the food is the reason why. Three out of four meals were not very appealing. Seared scallops with ravioli looked like soup and more like ravioli with a few scallops. Mahi-mahi looked to mixed with another fish and served with risotto that was like soup. It's too bad as we always loved this place.

We made a reservation for New Year’s Eve (which was confirmed on open table). When we showed up the restaurant was closed. The website and the voicemail for the restaurant both stated the hours and they should have been open. Extremely frustrating an left us scrambling. So this review is based on the restaurant being closed without notice.

It s really too bad but this place went from nice to a disaster. I’ve dined here over the years and loved it. I also understand that places are struggling with staff so I do have a lot of sympathy for restaurants and understand service is slower then it use to be. Service was terrible to the point of waiting 45 minutes to be served a drink. Food was terrible. The menu is a tiny fraction of what it use to be. It’s unfortunate that things have gone downhill.

7:30 reservation, not really busy, and the special was already sold out. We ordered the tuna and the scallops. Tuna was pretty good, and the rhubarb quinoa (I think) that came with it was also okay. Four small bay scallops came with lobster ravioli. Seems like they should name the dish "Ravioli with a bit of scallops," especially considering that the ravioli was better than the scallops. The place doesn't seem quite as shiny as I remember pre-COVID-19. Service was okay. The waiter fired the main courses before we finished salads, forgot the side of broccoli we ordered, and was anxious to pick up the check before we left. The recommended wine was good. Solid B- for the price.

Worst dining experience in a long time!! Our tuna was cooked completely wrong. Waiter couldn’t even understand what I was asking. Husband ordered captain and Coke and was given something that was definitely not that. The waiter confirmed it came from the captain Morgan bottle so the restaurant must be refilling their bottles with crap. The bathrooms were dirty and while we were eating an employee decided to take a smoke break and propped the door open. The whole please reeked of smoke! Disgusting. Will never go back again and not sure this place will be in business much longer

We arrived at 5:40 for our 6 pm reservation. The dining room had 3 occupied tables. We were told we would be seated at 6…. So we stood and waited. But we were quite perplexed why we were not shown a table and given water until the appointed time. Once seated the service was attentive but not overwhelming. The food is very good, especially the pan seared scallops, and lobster ravioli. We will go back, but not arrive early.

The menu has shrunk considerably since our last visit in May. They served "HoJo" style breaded clam strips the waiter insisted were "Ipswich clam". We arrived for a 5:45 reservation and waiter insisted we were too late for the $1 oysters when took our appetizer order. The hostess/greeter has also vanished replaced by a "wait to be seated" sheet of paper.

It’s been a while and maybe this was just an “off” Sunday but my sense is that Covid and supply chain issues have really hurt this once superb restaurant . The menu has been severely honed down yet nothing seemed all that fresh. Service was really, really good as were cocktails ). But the place needs sprucing up and the food needs more living care. I really want this place to return to its glory days and all the staff were si attentive that I’ll give them another try.

Our server was very good, however for a seafood restaurant, they were out of much of the shell fish (oysters, lobster, lobster ravioli). Our meals were small and the preparations attempted to be creative, but did not quite make it. Disappointed.

Lovely restaurant, nice big circular booth. Food was very good. Only critique is for the first time in a very long time I smelled cigarette smoke while I was eating and it turned out they have a lovely big door that opens to let fresh air in but sadly if staff or guests are smoking out front the smoke also comes in. I am sure there is a way around this especially if it is staff on break. But otherwise very lovely restaurant and would recommend.

This restaurant has gone downhill. We haven't been since before COVID, but the restaurant has changed. We were there on a Saturday night and they only had Tito's Vodka - all other brands were out. The place was dirty (dead bugs on the window sills and not toilet paper in the bathroom stalls). The food was expensive and very small portions. The service was average and there was not a manager or chef to speak with on a Saturday night. Overall, will not be going back.

I ordered a Gray Goose Martini , with olives , and rocks on the side . I got the drink , it had Spanish salad olives , and the bartender thru my rocks out . Never again .

When the live jazz combo is the highlight of your experience at a restaurant, well… Sorry, but the food was a C- at best. The presentation of the food was a D given what it could have been and should have been. C’mon, you’re workin’ with scallops, shrimp, fresh fish, and clams! Service though gracious was very slow and inattentive. We expected much more but we’re sadly underwhelmed. Don’t think we would give this one another chance.

We enjoyed our meal quite a bit. Food was great, service was great. It was a very hot/humid day and the restaurant has nice big accordion doors in the bar that were open. We were sitting in the dining room, and it was quite warm in the dining room. It didn't feel like there air conditioning was on. Other than the temperature in the dining room, the meal was wonderful as was the service.

As usual - the surprises never end at Fish Wine and Bar. While parking we could hear the soft tones of jazz wafting through the evening and upon arrival saw it was a live jazz band (who were absolutely GREAT) and kept the atmosphere at an upbeat, yet peaceful tone throughout the evening. Haloumi cheese on the beautifully arranged cheese charcuterie, the tune, jambalaya, lobster ravioli and salmon - delectable. One of my favorite desserts - churros topped with cinnamon and sugar - lovely surprise. As always - the greeting was warm, kind and funny - Jess and her staff are an outstanding example of a true service - the discreet and ongoing "check-in" to assure water glasses were always full, food wast to our liking, was anything else needed or required? All with a sincere desire to make us as comfortable and happy as possible. Now that we are over with Covid - the restaurant appears to be getting a facelift - beautiful creamy colored banquette seating has brightened the whole seating area up - I can't wait to see what is coming in the next few months!! As always - it was a 5 star evening - what a treat to have such a fabulous restaurant right here in our city!! Thank you to all at Fish Wine and Bar!!

They have a great menu, however we expected cold beer, did not get it and when request was made to give us cold beer we got it yet we got charged for the warm beer also. They had a great deal on Osters $1 each, enjoyed it but we ordered their 3+3 Osters+ Gambo shrimp we got the same small Osters+ smaller than medium shrimps for $24... The manager, without gave us assurance that that those are Gambo shrimps, as if we have never eaten in quality restaurant before or we are stupid for say it is not what we ordered ... We never got the charge out... Later I discovered that we were being charged for an appetizer that we ordered but never got... We gave the embarrassed server cash tip... The manager attempted to take... Clearly he is crook and it a sham that a good people working there and the sheff who created super nice menu, were not getting a professional manager

The ambience of the restaurant was nice. Although there was a live band but we were seated at a table toward the back of the restaurant so the noise level was not bad. The waiter started off nice and friendly. We ordered the surf & turf which was supposed to be a filet of steak and lazy style lobster. When we got the entrée, there were only four small thin slices of cut steak and a tail and two claws of the lobster. It totally did not fit the description on the menu nor the price of the dish. To spend close to $50 for something not at expectation was not a great feeling. Also, the waiter never came by once to check up on us even though the restaurant was not busy on a Saturday night. He only stopped by when we were all done and ready for our check. Food at this place was good if you don't order the surf & turf. Service was poor considering it was not busy.

We were seated at a window booth, the well placed trellises, disguised the street, the restaurant is very quiet ( minimal traffic noise). The dining room is spacious, yet cozy. The entire staff were very friendly and accommodating, then there is the food. The food is simply spectacular!! The raw bar, like having shellfish straight off the boat. Appetizers that set a very high standard in flavors, presentation, hot, prepared perfectly, tender even. Entrées were simply amazing, we will be back, we have found "our go to " freshest seafood place, close to home!
