Service & food- wonderful!
Always delicious food and great drinks! And the halibut is spectacular!
Appropriate for special occasions because of price point
Raw bar is fabulous. Everything on the menu is top notch. We go at least twice a month. Lilly the bartender is fabulous!
We usually love this restaurant but we took out of town guests and the halibut was a disaster. My husband should have sent it back! The waitress said she would tell the chef but it fell on deaf ears or wasn’t mentioned—not appreciated by us!
Three of four entrees were unexceptional and overpriced. Fourth was very good.
Very pricey for the location and the amount of food.
This has become a favorite place of ours. A lot of oysters to choose from, the menu is really diverse, and it has a great wine selection. Then at dining with the doors open is an excellent treat for a nice meal at the hi-top tables, but the dining room is charming. The wait staff has always been some of the best we have had - attentive and knowledgeable. You can't go wrong!
Good food! Cioppino is my favorite.
Overall Fish was quite good. It was a little bit noisy but otherwise comfortable. The Halibut was done perfectly as was my wife's scallops. The appetizer fried clams were a particular treat.
Absolutely perfect way to celebrate our anniversary with friends who were also celebrating theirs! We dined late enough that there was no noise and we received
full attention to service. We look forward
to dining here again; it's been our go-to place for meeting these friends who live further away.
Restaurant with amazing food, excellent service, and convenient parking. Highly recommended for a special occasion. Entrees range from $25-$45.
We’re in Marlborough once a year for the National Guild of Hypnotists’ convention, and we always have at least two meals at Fish. These folks know how to treat lobster - never had it over cooked or under cooked. Such consistency takes serious kitchen skills. Desserts are great, wine list is good, staff are excellent - we’ve been coming here every summer since before Fish was Fish, and we have always had a wonderful dining experience.
Everything was great! The food, atmosphere, service, great date night.
Our second time eating here. We have enjoyed our meals both times. Great selection of oysters and great menu options for a meal. And both times we have had excellent service.
Great restaurant experience tucked into an unassuming and highly accessible location. Outstanding food and great service. Pricey but worth the plunge for a special occasion or romantic interlude.
Very nice raw bar. Cherrystones where delicious. Tried a new type of oyster. Fish was fresh and well prepared. Mariah was sweet and efficient. We'll be back!
Food was really really terrific! Had oysters and Caesar salad to begin and the Surf & Turf as my entree. Other guests enjoyed the chowder and Salmon entrees. Steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and all accompaniments were delicious.
Elliot was very friendly and gave us the time we needed to talk and catch up, although a few service steps were missed (no cocktail fork for oysters and no steak knife for entree, until I'd asked). Asked for Ketel Citron and was told they had it. It wasn't until the drink arrived that I was told they only had Crop Citron; I would have altered my order had I been made aware of this in a timely fashion.
All in all, we had a wonderful experience and really enjoyed the food.
Never in Marlborough, but highly recommend Fish for a great meal.
Went for dinner after seeing other reviews on Trip Advisor . The others were spot on the food was great.
Good meal with excellent service. Fish always perfectly prepared but
The food was very good but the portions were small. We went for lunch and the restaurant was very quiet. This looks like a great place to go for dinner.
Regular visitor to Fish. This visit was excellent. I had the Fish and Chips which was good. Others had the scallops and loved them. A very pleasant evening with excellent service.
The daily special was wonderful.
Everything we ordered was a delight and the wine selection was also great. Clam chowder, cheese plate, onion rings (yes....) Paella (with "Israeli Couscous"!). The atmosphere at 7:30 mid July was just perfect. We would definitely come back.
Came to see drummer in band!!
Dinner reservations for 7:00 on a Saturday night with my girlfriend. Arrived, place was busy...band was setting up. Service (Theresa) was friendly and attentive. Oyster appetizers were tasty. Food was great, drinks were imaginative, band "The Brunson Burners" was great and took requests. Cozy bar area. Nice mellow atmosphere. All in all....a wonderful evening. Highly recommended.
I love the food at this restaurant. We always start with fresh oysters, Wellfleet if we can get them! The salads are great and the tuna is always fantastic. We only sit in the lounge area as the atmosphere is cozy and upbeat. And the crowd seems to be a bit younger than the main dining area.
Both my wife's entrée and mine were good. My wife had asked for her salmon to be cooked med-rare but it came med which was OK. Everything came al-a - cart. Rolls and a small house salad would have been a nice touch. I though things were a bit pricey but not outrageous. We had indicated when I made the reservation that it was my wife's birthday but no acknowledgement was made. So overall it was good but nothing outstanding.
Clam chowder with bacon was great. As was the grilled octopus. My companion had the swordfish and loved it. Great dinner. Would go back!
Excellent food and service. We have been here multiple times and the only thing that detracts from an outstanding experience is occasional loud noise from the open kitchen. Almost as if someone is banging cookie sheets together to make an announcement. Other than that, however, always worthwhile
Just good, not great. Menu hasn’t changed in years. It’s gone from a special place to a same-o same-o place.
Honestly it was just ok. For us it was definitely not as good as when we first started going there. We found the app menu limited on better variety and while the scallop entry was good, portions were small, 4 scallops. This we typically see at other restaurants as the app qty. also wine prices were high
Great spot for oysters, especially at a dollar a pop on Sundays. Our meals were tasty, but not value-priced. Service was casual.
There were 4 of us for dinner, from starters through coffee/dessert the food and service was great. We have dined at Fish before and we will again!
While I think the food is good and the service superb....it is VERY pricey for Marlborough. I would not go often just for that reason.
We have been to Fish many times and chose to go there for Father’s Day dinner. Our waitress was very pleasant but somewhat scattered. We had to ask for a third place setting to begin with and then for a drink before ordering-our dinner. We had calamari and oysters and then ordered dinner. Another server brought our order to the table but one dinner was incorrect. The waitress never returned in a timely manner to the table so we could return the incorrect plate. Then, the other server returned with the correct dinner and put it on the table. The waitress returned and asked if we touched the first place! Then she said, you touched it so I have to take the correct order back! Not, which one would you like but left the incorrect order because it was touched! Our correct order was left on the table so it shouldn’t be served again! Was floored by how we were treated over the meal mixup. Waitress was not savvy at all in handling the customer!
Have been going for years. This is our annual Father’s Day raw bar. Food and atmosphere always fabulous. Always a pleasure and fun to dine here.
This was probably the worse meal I have had in a restaurant in a long time. I ordered the haddock which was supposed to come with a cream sauce. The original had succotash and I asked for that to be substituted with Jasmine rice. The vegetable was listed as pureed asparagus. The meal arrived with a tiny shriveled, dried piece of haddock, a huge pile of white rice which could have been "Minute Rice" and a thimble sized, iced cold portion of asparagus. I asked to speak to the manager and complained about the meal. Where was the sauce? Why such a small portion and so overcooked? And the asparagus - what? She asked me if I wanted a free dessert. I am not one to complain in a restaurant but I could not let this go. The bill arrived with my meal on it. I once again asked for the manager and she took it off the bill. This is supposed to be a gourmet seafood place. I will never go there again. (The waiter was very nice. I felt bad for him.)
Good enough but not outstanding. Fish is fresh, and they always have an interesting special. The timing is always off and our waitress was also the bartender and waitress for the bar- for us that meant she was too busy. We order and got our appetizer and then within 5 minuets our dinners come out as well as the bread! So much for a relaxing Saturday night dinner🙄.
Delicious Fried Oyster appetizer. The Diver Scallops with bacon marmalade is both unique and beautiful in presentation.
