There were 4 of us for dinner, from starters through coffee/dessert the food and service was great. We have dined at Fish before and we will again!
Have been going for years. This is our annual Father’s Day raw bar. Food and atmosphere always fabulous. Always a pleasure and fun to dine here.
This was probably the worse meal I have had in a restaurant in a long time. I ordered the haddock which was supposed to come with a cream sauce. The original had succotash and I asked for that to be substituted with Jasmine rice. The vegetable was listed as pureed asparagus. The meal arrived with a tiny shriveled, dried piece of haddock, a huge pile of white rice which could have been "Minute Rice" and a thimble sized, iced cold portion of asparagus. I asked to speak to the manager and complained about the meal. Where was the sauce? Why such a small portion and so overcooked? And the asparagus - what? She asked me if I wanted a free dessert. I am not one to complain in a restaurant but I could not let this go. The bill arrived with my meal on it. I once again asked for the manager and she took it off the bill. This is supposed to be a gourmet seafood place. I will never go there again. (The waiter was very nice. I felt bad for him.)
Good enough but not outstanding. Fish is fresh, and they always have an interesting special. The timing is always off and our waitress was also the bartender and waitress for the bar- for us that meant she was too busy. We order and got our appetizer and then within 5 minuets our dinners come out as well as the bread! So much for a relaxing Saturday night dinner🙄.
Delicious Fried Oyster appetizer. The Diver Scallops with bacon marmalade is both unique and beautiful in presentation.
Fish has excellent food and service. The halibut special was exceptional.
Very well done.
The fish was fresh, nicely done (i.e. not over-cooked), attractively presented. Everyone in our party of seven enjoyed their meals, including salads, salmon, scallops, swordfish, crabcakes and fried seafood. the key lime pot de creme was a perfect way to end the meal. We will be back.
The salad with grilled scallops was quite good, and the waiter delivered terrific service, but $24 (tax and tip included) seems high for a small salad with four scallops.
Once again, food was excellent! I had forgotten that Sunday is "buck a shuck" night, so it was even better! Two dozen bivalves bit the dust along with our two orders of chioppino. The service was just passable. The host at the front desk barely greeted us [also screwed up OpenTable by not saying that we arrived - we were scolded via e-mail while we were still there] and he never said thank you, good bye or how was your meal? when we left. There's no excuse for that and just staring out the window like we didn't exist. We were "lucky" enough to have a screaming toddler at the next table, but that's not the restaurants fault. Our waitress appeared overly busy and was just shuffling food. I know how hard a wait staff can have it, but, again, this seems to be the norm at Fish. I don't know if it's the training or if they're just understaffed. However, as always, the food more than made up for the service! Excellent oysters, excellent seafood dinner prepared magnificently and the chocolate mousse cake for dessert made our eyes roll.
Celebrating our nieces birthday with a group of five. Food was fabulous- as usual.
You have one big problem and it is the young man who greets you at the desk. He did not greet us nor did he even say "good bye" when we left. They say that first and final impressions are most important. On both scores you ruined what would have been a near perfect dinner.
I think they must have changed chefs. Quality of the food has been much better in the past. Younger waitstaff on the Thursday night we were there; not as attentive or professional as others we’ve had. Still love this place, but definitely seems to be a bit of a slide in the quality level.
Our food was superb! One had fish and chips, 2 had a great salmon dish, and one haddock. The vegetables were perfectly cooked and all presentations lovely. We were very impressed. It was our fourth time there and every time it has been great. The bartender even came to our table to help us select a red wine.
My first visit to Fish -- food was great. Swordfish was moist and flavorful, well-balanced by vegetables and insanely delicious pearl onions. It was as if they had been soaked in bourbon or something. SO. GOOD. Surf and turf was yummy and the surf (lobster) had been de-shelled so it was completely non-fussy. Nice wine and beer list. The cocktail descriptions sounded fun although we did not order any. Was a busy Saturday evening so there was quite a bit of energy in the restaurant. Live jazz started up just as we were finishing dinner. We'll be sure to target a reservation that coincides with music next time.
Great food and great wine by the glass. The lighting was pretty harsh at the booths and could not be dimmed. Food and service super - interiors need a makeover of lighting and colors to get rid of the 70's feel. We will return for the food!
Loved it! Delicious food, great service - perfect start for celebrating graduation weekend!!
Biggest “shrimp” I’ve ever had, but I thought they were a little tough and overcooked. We were there for a retirement party. The rest of my group had only poditive things to say, but I was a little underwhelmed.
Great food !!
We really enjoyed our dinner and appetizers. The staff was very friendly and informed.
I went in with high expectations but first they were out of diver scallops. That was why I went. I had swordfish. Was bland and slightly over cooked. The accompaniments were minuscule dabs of something. Sorry. Great concept mediocre execution.
Very good seafood, reasonably priced, professional service. A little noisy, but a very nice evening. Consistent with previous visits
Introduced British Visitors to Saturday Night at FISH with live music.
A great time was had by all. The food was superb.
We love this place! We've had big family celebrations as well as casual dinner-with-friends here. (Out-of-state guests ask for return visits, too!) The food is always, ALWAYS deliciously prepared and exquisitely presented. The tuna tartare is my favorite appetizer and I love the seared tuna entree, done (rare, per my request) to perfection. Special attention is paid to the preparation and seasoning of the accompanying vegetables (the garlic spinach was terrific), too. Every element of each meal is distinct and delicious. Tasty, beautiful desserts included key lime panna cotta, apple cobbler, and creme brulee. A truly fine dinner, with live music and a nice breeze from the open patio. Especially enjoyed the warm welcome from owners, Jason and Jessica, too. Did I mention we love this place? We do!
I can't believe how delicious the food was. The menu was so extensive, I had trouble figuring out what I wanted. I first ordered the fish soup. It was the BEST soup I ever had. My husband ordered the Ceaser salad and that I was delicious. We couldn't help to notice the shrimp cocktail at the next table. They were Huge! We then ordered the shrimp and lobster dinner and that was delicious. I can't wait until we go back!!!
Food is incredible, ambiance is perfect, service is good- and could have been better. The night we were there were several large parties so I understand. This place is a Gem!
Have previously been several times with good results. This visit not as good. Seated at high top near bar which I had asked for due to recent hip surgery. The bartender was our waitress. She was overworked and forgot us throughout the evening. Very similar appetizers came out several minutes apart. My main course was luckwarm and not cooked to my specs. All in all a good seafood restaurant but not not all aspects of the organization are worthy of a very good review.
As usual, everything was spectacular! Excellent service, food was served hot and delicious. We sat at the high top tables near the bar and the the 3-piece band was playing. However, the noise level was fine. We could still converse without screaming. A little pricey, but worth every dime....
Food was great. Ambiance was cold. Very noisy. Service poor. Waiter was distracted and not attentive. Overpriced for what was delivered. Can find better food and dining experience elsewhere.
We have consistently had very good experiences dining at Fish. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the food is excellent.
The food was pretty pedestrian. Although the seafood was of good quality, flavor and seasoning was sorely lacking.
Food was excellent along with service
Fish has been a go-to spot for good dining for many years. Unfortunately for us it’s getting to be a same-o same-o place. Menu doesn’t change, salads are underwhelming but fish is still very good.
Excellent food and excellent service, never disappointed with this restaurant!
Saturday night was our second visit to Fish Restaurant & Wine Bar. It was worth the trip again. Excellent service, great wait staff and the menu and special items were fabulous. There was a live jazz band in the bar that made the evening dinner fun and lively. We truly recommend this restaurant for anyone who enjoys great food and music.
Great food and fine dinning. Best fried clams in the area. Able to cater to low carb. Nice quiet, classy place for a date. Would not recommend for small children.
We both enjoyed the $1.00 oysters with a glass of wine. The swordfish was delicious with a twist-roasted brussel sprouts and butternut squash.
The food was good. Service and ambiance were just fine. Wpuld try again because the food was good and problem may have been the server. Restaurant decor is nice enough but somehow it doesn’t shine.
Excellent food, service, and a live lounge band. Great Saturday night treat. Fish is an excellent seafood restaurant that with a few more selections would make it the best seafood restaurant west of Boston.
I have been taking out of town clients there for years and very much enjoyed it. This time was not great. Its started with nobody answering the phone that day so I could adjust my reservation. Voicemail said to leave a message - I left one and they "never got it." I asked for a quiet area of the restaurant and away for the band that is just too loud for the acoustics and size of the place. ( I knew that from the last recent visit.) So they put us right next to the kitchen which was also loud. I asked to be moved and they were very accommodating. We ordered and there was a mistake in the order. The waiter was polite and said he would fix it. Another staff member brought out one part of the additional food but not the rest. Our waiter never checked so we had to tell him the food was not right. He was not overly apologetic. Polite but busy. He said he would talk to management and came back saying they still charged full price for the original order he placed. So in essence there was no consideration for the error and then only partially fixing the error. The person never got what she asked for and no real care to appear concerned. Where was the manager? Maybe he/she could have come by and checked in? This is a nice restaurant with a nice menu. In years past it has been outstanding. It is reasonably expensive so very good service and food correctly cooked and delivered should be expected. Don't know what went wrong but it was a below average dining experience for this location. I will try it again but if this happens again, it will be off my list to take clients.
