    Our first time eating at a restaurant for Thanksgiving and we were very impressed. The view is amazing and we ordered their Turkey dinner. The food was plenty full and delicious. Service was great. We have no complaints. Just be ready to walk a few blocks if you can’t find close parking or don’t want to pay for garage parking. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

    From the seating to a nice table with bay views to our server was very comfortable and not rushed or pressured.The food was excellent thanksgiving turkey dinner, crusted halibut dinner. The cranberry sauce was amazing with the turkey and the mango sauce with the halibut!

    Several items we love to get there were either unavailable or the price had jumped to almost twice. Needles to say we didn't get out usuals and had to alter what was available to accommodate our tastes. Did we get enough. Yes. Was it good. Yes. Was it way more pricey than usual. Yes. Overall still a good evening but slightly disappointing compared to usual

    We come here every time we're in Monterey. Service is excellent and the food is great. Lots of choices on the menu and, if you're lucky, a nice sunset and watching the sea life. Dinner and a show!

    I made reservations requesting seating by the water and this didn't disappoint! We had a nice corner table next to the water. The area had ample heaters for anyone who may have been cool from the outside air. Service was attentive, no complaints. Food was good, but no better than other similar restaurants. Food was pricey as well and I'd say over priced. Drinks were strong. Overall, the experience was good and we would go again.

    Food was wonderful, but unfortunately our service was very poor. It took about 45 minutes to get bread, salad and appetizers. Then another long wait for dinner. All surrounding tables seemed to be served better than us. After another wait for the check, the server blamed the kitchen. However, she never once checked on us during the 45 minute wait.

    We got into Monterey late on the 1st day of a 3-day visit so randomly chose the Fish Hopper for a light dinner: just a cup of clam chowder and an appetizer. The clam chowder was the best we’ve ever had, the view of the bay was lovely and the service was excellent. We were so impressed, we decided to return for my 70th birthday dinner on our last night in town. Wise decision on our part! We had one of the best meals ever! The broiled salmon was done to perfection (and we’ve eaten a lot of salmon), and the fresh vegetables and risotto were equally delicious. We splurged on dessert which was also incredible. We can’t say enough about our waiter, Alejandro (Alex), who was also amazing - friendly, professional and perfectly attentive. He made our dining experience so special. So appreciative of him and all of the staff for making such a memorable experience for us.

    Our servers in the bar and at dinner were pleasant and friendly. We had a great view of the ocean and the seafood was excellent. The chef was able to accommodate my daughter’s dairy free request.

    Our greeter was not friendly and when 2 of the three of us showed up she asked ‘well how long will he be?’ We were 10 minutes from our reservation time. The restaurant was empty and we got seated at a seat near the kitchen. When I asked if we could sit further in where all the empty seats were I was told ‘you need a reservation’!!!! We had one ! They moved us. When our third didn’t show up at the time I texted him and he said they told me to wait outside because the other two people weren’t here. We were. The washroom was filthy. The food was good. Won’t be going back

    We go to Fish Hopper all the time mostly for the food and we love it when we are seated by the windows. The service is hit or miss. We went yesterday for our anniversary and it took us 20 minutes to get water. And it was really hot in the restaurant. It’s not pleasant when you are sweating trying to enjoy your seafood. It actually made me feel a bit sick to my stomach. The food was great though. Any time I have a risotto it’s always perfect. I do recommend this restaurant for the food, but don’t expect stellar service.

    Just what we were looking for on our coastal getaway. It is a bit pricey but was worth it to us. Very personable waiter and so glad to see that they are supporting Maui Strong Foundation which we do also. They have another restaurant in Kona. We will return again when we have the chance. The dishes we had were perfectly prepared and presented and the wine selection was very good.

    I’m very disappointed we wasted a meal in Monterey at this place when there are so many great restaurants in the area. Our table looked to be probably the worst table in the whole restaurant - we made reservations and it didn’t look full. The drinks were bad, the oysters were bad, the macadamia crusted halibut was okay. Nothing came out looking like the pictures. Our server was nice and did a good job.

    Not impressed at all. Actual quite disappointed. The drink were ok, but the food left a lot to be desired. The mahi-major wasn’t bad, but for the price the portion was very small. The fish and chip were not good. Of the three pieces, two were overcooked, dry and “fishy” (kind of a sign the fish was not fresh) and only one was edible. The serving of chips was underwhelming. Monterey has a lot of seafood restaurants. I’m sure you can do better than this one.
