   We have gone many many times to this restaurant, but over memorial weekend we went to have dinner. On this occasion we had a bad experience, our food came to the table, cold or lukewarm. Which showed us that everything was pre-cooked and served to us warmed up not fresh.  As for hors d’oeuvre we ordered clam chowder which came after serving us our meals andwith no spoons.  The waitress had a difficult time finding our table to see if we needed anything. When we confronted her about the problems no apology or explanation was given about , she acted as if everything was okay. For such a highly priced restaurant they usually took pride in the good food and service, but really took us as customers for granted and showed no interest in making our experience pleasurable. We were disappointed completely especially with having a 250$ bill and having to go to in&out after just to get something worth eating!

   Aside from the beautiful, expansive bay view, this restaurant was a huge disappointment. We do a lot of fine dining, and regularly pay similar prices to FH, and our experience was sub par. I had the sesame Mahi Mahi and my husband had fish and chips. His food arrived kind of cold and was just so-so quality. Mine had several areas of disgusting gray flesh I had to remove, and the seasoning was way over salted. It came with boring rice and bland vegetables. Also had clam chowder which seems like the quality has gone down over the years. My friend had the sample and based on that, did not want to order it. I did not try the sample and ordered it thinking it would be delicious, but it was just okay. We were a party of 4 and 3 meals came out together, and the 4th was very late. We had to flag down someone who was not our server to get more water after not seeing her for quite some time. FH offers the same view as outside so zero reason to return.

   What a lovely anniversary dinner we had! Everything was perfect, from the warm greeting and best wishes for our celebration throughout, to the beautiful table overlooking the bay, our wonderful server Abner, and the amazing food and wine. Such a perfect evening!

   The food is good and the environment is spectacular. I ate here three times while in town. Each time we were blessed with the same amazing waiter who truly was remarkable. The prices were consistent with other restaurants on the water and the ambiance was awesome on the deck and inside.

    For years we go to Fish Hopper tô eat Clam chowder. Yesterday the chowder tasted like it was thickened with flour or cornstarch. It was horrible. The service was extremely slow, but we understand, it was Mothers Day… The server was very kind and was working hard…

    The renovated sardine factory setting and the views of Monterey bay and seals swimming is outstanding but I was very disappointed in the sardines, bacon-wrapped scallops, and the surf and turf filet mignon and lobster tail with mashed potatoes. My gf said her caesar salad was below average. The hosts and server were good. When my server noticed I hadn’t eaten much he asked if ok, I said didn’t like it, and he contacted manager who came to table and inquired and took items off the bill which I did not request but was the right thing to do and appreciated. This place has lots of potential and I hope my food experience was atypical.

    One meal was good, the other was not. The shrimp was not hot and it was rubbery. For a seaside seafood, it was super disappointing. No longer have complimentary rollsl…you must purchase them. We’ve eaten there many times pre pandemic…won’t return.

    My wife and I visited twice while we were in town and both times the food was excellent and service was great. Our servers were attentive and available when we needed them. Will be visiting again when we’re in town again.

    My pasta dish w/seafood had no flavor. I had to add salt and pepper and it was still lacking flavor. The views compensate for that though. I'd recommend going there and sitting near the very far windows.

    Wonderful restaurant! The view was impressive since we ate dinner watching the sea lions, sea otters, pelicans, etc. The Sushi Nachos are a MUST! So delicious and fresh. Our meals were both delicious and the staff was impressive as well. Thank you! Highly recommend!

    The NY steak was a little over cooked for both of our orders and wasn’t very flavorful. The prawn appetizer was also over cooked. The crabbed stuffed prawns with the meal were delicious. The view superb and the waitress was excellent.

    We were fortunate enough to have one of the several tables by the window, which was great. The lobster that I ordered didn’t have much flavor and wasn’t rich at all. That is the only complaint about the food. Everything else that we had was delicious and large portions.

    The halibut was over cooked and burned on the bottom. I was brought a new plate that was still over cooked. The lobster was rubbery and over cooked. But didn’t feel like complaining again. We were given a free dessert. We were disappointed in paying too price for unsatisfactory food.
