I love Fish Hopper! They have tasty, sustainable seafood like coconut prawns and macadamia halibut (which I highly recommend). The ocean views are beautiful, and they request that children be well-behaved, which is so nice. I practice mindful eating, and it’s so enjoyable to do here, given the tasty food and beautiful views. You can really take time to be present and experience life when you’re savoring great flavors and being so close to nature. ♥

We went at lunchtime and sat outside. It was surprising noisy for being outdoors. The view is amazing and well worth the noise level. The service was mediocre and no one knew who was supposed to be servicing our table. We did get our food within a reasonable time and it tasted fine. We had a hard time getting drinks or finding someone to help. Overall, I was underwhelmed.

Tasty seafood, very good service from everyone there. I wasn't a big fan of their cocktails, and the bartender wasn't very knowledgeable of drinks, but otherwise a great experience.

Horrible presentation of food which is better at their takeout table. Extremely noisy & too many crying children. Allows people to eat in at night while we spent hundreds inside! Go elsewhere. Not very clean or pretty.

First time going there and mader reservation few days in advance. Surprised to find out we still had to get in line with mixture of 15 other guests with/without reservations. There was no sign indicating to new patrons that's what needs to be done. The food is decent but the noise level is bit high.

Thank you!

We ordered the seafood platter for two and it was very good. The seafood was very fresh and more than plenty for two. It was a bit expensive but then again this is Monterey on the Pier.

We were caught in traffic and I called to ask to save my reservation. When we arrived we received first class service and a window seat. We will be returning soon.

Our only complaint was that, even though we had made our reservation months in advance, upon arriving we still had to wait in line for over 20 minutes to just check-in for our reservation. So, we were waiting in line with everyone who did NOT have a reservation. Which the people in front of us (with no reservation) ended up getting a superb table with a great view while we were put towards the back with a partially blocked view. Part of me wonders why the heck I even bothered with making a reservation in the first place. Especially since this was our first wedding anniversary (and we had our first dinner after we got married at the Fish Hopper in Kona). Due to the waiting in line and the blocked view, it was a very BIG let down for our very first-anniversary dinner.

Just to sum it up, our dinner was very tasteless. Our server forgot to put our appetizer order in so we had our appetizer with our dinner. Not to mention the calamari, not good. I’m not one for making reviews but this was Valentine’s Day and I expected much more out of the restaurant.

The freshest seafood in Monterey and the atmosphere is absolutely incredible. Drink specials are unique, staff is friendly and food will be discussed for days to come. We had a great time and we ate at the bar! What a great place....I have been 3 times and would go back 3 times in a row.

First time OT has let be down. Had reservations for 8 that had been verified. Rest. Acted shocked we were there. They sloppily put together a table for 6. I asked them to add spaces and chairs.

Drink order was delivered one short as was our dinner. Food was okay but over-priced and at best service was inattentive!

Fish Hopper was so so in my opinion. I've had better food at other restaurants. The service was as expected. Prices are high but all restaurants have gotten more expensive. Just another expensive dinner that was not really worth the cost.

We have eaten here in the past and had a great experience, even with the higher prices. This time, the food was good, but uninspired. The seabass was overcooked. The croutons on the salad were stale. The waitress was energetic and very attentive. Maybe they were just having an off night in the kitchen. There are lots of dining opportunities in the Monterey area. They might have to step it up a bit to maintain their top tier status.

My fiancé and I had reservations at Fish Hopper for Valentines evening. Was seated right away and greeted by our waitress very quickly. Brie new the specials, answered our questions and gave good recommendations. We had an ocean view and a large comfy booth. Food was done timely and delicious. Expect tp spend $30-$40 average plate. Considering the nice view and great service and good food I would consider this a good value for a nice couples dinner.

The service was terrible! We waited 40 minutes to get drinks, soups were served at the same time as the meal and were cold. The entrees were good and the location was great. Giving 3 stars because the service made the soup cold and delayed everything.

We made reservations for Valentine’s Day which was a good choice because it became extremely busy around 5pm. The reservation was made for my husband, I and our baby. As we walked up an employee quickly told us no strollers were allowed and told us to place it in a space that was unsupervised around the way from the restaurant. Then upon entering it was a LARGE sign telling us to remove our child if they get loud so we don’t inconvenience other customers. Woah. It was pretty intense and if I wouldn’t have made the reservation I would have turned around and went somewhere else. This kind of ANTI-FAMILY culture is absurd and lacks so much grace. The actual done in experience was wonderful and our waitress made us feel very comfortable with having our baby there but you still can’t help to feel you are some sort of burden to the establishment. Every time my baby coo’d I wondered if people were watching us! Luckily my child had a wonderful time and didn’t make anyone else feel uncomfortable. HAA. We are lying customers too and if we want to have a date night out with our child your company ought to make us feel a little more comfortable about because we are lying customers as well. My whole experience outside of that is shadowed by it. This sign needs to be taken down and maybe implemented with a little bit more class and style.

We had a lovely dinner. The food was delicious, our waiter was friendly, attentive and informative. The ambience was also wonderful. We were there at night and from our window side table we could see the full moon shining on the waves and water and making them sparkle. It was very romantic!

Great experience! The location and views are simply spectacular. Sea otters playing just offshore and dolphins swimming by. The food was excellent but not enjoyed by all in our party (hence 4 stars). The salmon salad was absolutely amazing. Bloody Mary was ok

Love this place! Been several times. Was a bit surprised at the price of the "boat" of seafood for two we got. We could have purchased (3) of the most expensive entre's on the menu for less than that $180 charge for that, but our mistake for not asking first as that price was not listed. But the food was great.
