Overall great service and good food. Restaurant is in a hotel, so the space was not super unique, but it was comfortable. It was reasonably quiet, but it was a slow Monday night, so tough to tell. The prime rib was very good much larger than shown on the menu(maybe 15iz vs 10 oz in the menu), but it was advertised as smoked. Not very smoky but really tasty. The walleye was very fresh, and don’t miss the roasted vegetables. Very well prepared. Drinks are good but expensive.
I recently moved to Minneapolis and this was my first time going out to dinner since being in the city, so I had no idea what to expect. The whole night was better than I could have anticipated. The servers and bartenders were extremely friendly, the ambiance was fun and slightly romantic, and the food was amazing. I would recommend the meatballs and the butternut squash ravioli to anyone looking for an amazing meal!
Food was delicious, server was exceptional, drinks were top notch.
The chicken wings and popovers were my fave! We will be back.
First time in Minneapolis and this was a fantastic dining experience! Our waiter Kevin was attentive and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend for couples or business dinners.
Prime rib was OK but not done medium as ordered. Closer to well done. Bread basket with about 12 slices for $7.00 was excessive for 2 people.
Terrible service and food. Came into town for one night and was disappointed.
Great food and awesome service!
My friend and I dined at Fire Lake on Super Bowl Sunday. Therefore, there were not many people dining at that time.
Were greeted by our waitress, Karen, who was fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable and prompt with her service.
We shared the walleye and dirty fries for appetizers and they were delicious and very filling.
For my entree I had the rotisserie chicken which was some of the best I ever had. Tender on the inside and the outer coating was crispy with the perfect amount of seasoning. Was served with a huge helping of mashed potatoes and fresh broccoli spears. This was topped off with a light gravy which made it into the perfect comfort dish
Surroundings were great and we were positioned near the bar to watch the game.
Overall an excellent experience at Fire Lake. Will definitely be returning when in downtown Minneapolis!
Great food with Great Service! Perfect meal before a Timberwolves game!
Really good food and our server was excellent. There was some modern techo style music playing which really wasn't our style, but was able to drown it out with conversation.
Drinks were decent.
Went right after lunch time, not bz, seated right away, didn't need reservations. Waitress was real slow and didn't check on us. Atmosphere is real nice at bar.
Overall really great place, and server was super nice and bubbly. However, the service while nice, was very very slow. It would take 20 plus minutes to get drinks when the restaurant was fairly empty. Wouldn't recommend for anyone wanting a "quicker meal". An hr meal turned in 2 and a half hrs.
Went there for brunch before going to MN Orchestra.
Had the savory pannekoken.
food came hot and direct to the table.
my old fashion was great.
We've eaten at FireLake a number of times, all with good results. However, our recent visit was very disappointing. The restaurant didn't have our reservation, the service was painfully slow, and one of our orders was delivered to a different table by mistake and had to be refilled. Despite the fact that the restaurant was two-thirds empty, we were unable to get a later dining time for our group of four.
We had the walleye dinner & it was fabulous. The chocolate torte dessert was delish! We will go back.
It was Christmas Day. Restaurant was pretty empty. I have gotten my favorite meal, Gnudi two Christmas dinners previous, but it was not on the menu and I was told that I could not get it. Very disappointing. Don’t know if we will go back next year.
Attentive staff, a quiet, pleasant atmosphere, perfect ambience and beautiful food. We couldn’t have asked for more.
One of the best restaurant in Minneapolis and pretty much a secret gem.... This is one of my favorite place to go for lunch or dinner. The food is amazing, very affordable. I have never had a bad meal there and the service is impeccable.
The food was good. The staff was good. The restaurant was very clean. my only thought would be if you're going to put a dress code on your website enforce it
FireLake Grill is a great place to eat dinner before a show at the Orpheum. It's a couple of blocks walk, but sometimes a brisk walk after dinner and before a show is just what you need. The cocktails are nice, the food is hearty, and they have decent vegetarian options. We are fans of the popovers. We will be back.
This is the best kept secret in town for Sunday (pre-game) brunch. Food was great and it wasn’t busy at all! Bonus: $3 mimosas! Prices are reasonable for downtown. I had the Hog Savory Pannekoeken which two people could easily split. My husband had Cinnamon Brioche French Toast with side of maple bacon. YUM!
We had a delightful experience. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.
It was our 3rd time coming to fire Lake, my husband and I. And once again we were overjoyed with our experience with that fire Lake. The service is attentive the food is of high quality and the over all atmosphere is very pleasant. We had ordered, during our last visit, the Tomahawk steak. We were the 1st to have ordered this entree since their new menu and the chef himself came out to greet us and chat. You could really tell that the chef was cashing it about his dishes and we felt cared for. The menu at fire lake is both diverse and well executed. We highly recommend this restaurant and it has become one of our favorites.
Out of a few key items from the menu which was disappointing, but the service was good and what we ultimately ordered ended up being good too.
Firelake is always a great place to dine before a sporting event or a show. Food is simply great and the service is super. Very handy parking and you are right in the middle of the Minneapolis loop. Great place for a date.
I ordered ‘Duck’, what I got was a mix of Duck & Chicken and a Chef who insisted it was all Duck. Awful food.
Service was terrible , one and done
Food overrated ,
We walked in and looked as if we were an inconvenience, and treated that way the whole time. Time for new staff and or possibly management. The only bright spot was the bartender helping us with parking.
Outstanding. Food was terrific and presented well upon serving. Staff was wonderful and very professional. Unique dishes with a variety of choices. Would highly recommend!
This was the worst Opentable reservation experience I have ever had. The manager had called the bartender in for the day to cover another employees bar shift. She was so rude and openly argued with him in front of guests. We visited 11/25 at 12:00pm. She openly stated she did not want to be at work and her service reflected it. Also, lots of handling of food/money without proper hand washing. The managers ability to make cocktails was dreadful and he was also very rude. 2 tables of six walked out after sitting for 10 minutes. The food was typical hotel lobby bar food. I would not recommend or visit this place again.
This was a great place to eat on Thanksgiving. I did my homework and read the previous year's reviews and the food was awesome! And plenty of it! I would certainly come back again next year should I decide to take the day off for cooking Thanksgiving. You got alot of food and it all tasted great.
We were heading to the Orpheum later that evening. Firelake's location was extremely convenient, our server was attentive and each course appeared in good time. And the food was very good. We'd go again!
Service was great, sandwich was bone dry.
Always enjoy it here. The server was so nice and friendly.
Pop Overs we’re cold and everything you get is an “extra” on your bill.
Our server was awesome. Just the right amount of checking in without being a bother. Pork chop and meatballs were extremely tasty. Perfect timing prior to our show.
One of my favorite restaurant in Minneapolis. Service & food is always impeccable. the restaurant and bar are beautiful.
excellent our hostess was great as well as the food and wine
The walleye was the best! Tender inside with slight crispness outside and a very generous portion. The prime rib was a hit with the others in my group. Service was awesome and the waiter was spot on directing us to to both wine and food choices given our questions.
We had a really great experience. Our server Carissa was wonderful! Food was beautiful and excellent. Thank you!
