Firehouse American Eatery and Lounge
This is great for a night out with friends. I came here with fun for-workers. However, we are all different ages and it may have been
We were visiting San Diego and picked this place out from an online map view of the area. Waiter was wonderful, he let us move to the “fire” table when it was vacated by other guests. Food superb.
This is really a bar with a dance floor that happens to serve some food. If you are looking to dine out, then you should go elsewhere. The food is ordinary bar fare.
Hadn’t been there in 20 years! Still very good food with great service! Went for brunch - Would love to have sat outside w/ a view :(
inside was quiet, cavelike and felt like I was in a club. And the television was acting weird so we couldn’t even watch sports. But overall good and will go back
I've eaten here various times and have never had a bad meal.
We had dinner at this place on a Saturday evening. Great atmosphere, good service, very good food and wine.
My only observation is the fact that they DO NOT have any type of cognac at the bar. Other than that I highly recommend it.
Was pleasantly surprised by the free valet service at the door. Our server was great and the food was very good!
What a great place to sit and enjoy the weather. Great dining experience!! Food was outstanding and service was excellent.
Ordered drinks and coffee. Coffee cake out after food. Asked for hot sauce. Never came. Had to walk up to the bar to get the check. Have gone for both dinner and now brunch and similar experiences both times. Bill is way too expensive for the level of service offered.
Had an awesome time with a very large party. Firehouse was able to fill my reservation for 21 people in a heartbeat.
Service was slow and food was subpar. Reserved a table for the rooftop but got seated inside in poor location.
Loved our server Tim!!! So so nice and accommodating
Extremely slow service, drinks made incorrectly and food was not very good.
There was a mix up with our reservation and they were super busy, but they made accommodations very fast. Great food and atmosphere, love this place!
Went there for birthday brunch. It was a great experience, but the waitress was less than attentive. Overall, a great time though.
Staff was stellar and didn’t miss a beat. Loved the rooftop and view and the food was delicious and a great value for what we ordered.
Our group has been here various times & every time it has been a new experience. Never know what might happen with that days crowd.
We went here because it was reviewed as kid friendly. It was not. Service was terrible.
Good food and service
Sit on the rooftop if you can. Ambiance is fun, drinks and great, and food is delicious. Get a frose and the mini corn dogs!
Super fun restaurant
My issue is not the restaurant—it was the Open Table app. We made a reservation on the app and when we arrived, the restaurant said, “It should not have given you that reservation time—you’re going to have to wait for a while...”. Though we still only waited an extra 20 minutes, still disheartening when you where expecting no wait.....
Restaurant was not clean there was a lot food on the floor under our table and the chairs where dirty. More of a busy bar then food.
Great service, was very friendly with all my family including our 16yr old & 21yr old, would highly recommend, well done 👍
Was a nice place but we were stuck in the sun. We wanted the rooftop it’s why we choose this place. Recommend getting shade cover or something. We came for brunch and me and my 75 yr old mother in law left burnt. Food was good one person got the chicken sandwich which was dry but all in all good. Server was nice.
A good young atmosphere with a wide selection of food and drinks. Definitely on the noisier side upstairs. Restaurant turned bar scene by about 9:30.
Not sure if it was just because it was Pride weekend, but the music was playing super loud! A lot of fun, but not good for conversation!
It’s really unfair of me to rate the restaurant. We went expecting to have dinner. The night we were there it was a nightclub playing electronic music rather than what I expect in restaurant. It was clearly popular, but for a reason other than why I went. I’m responsible for my disappointment rather than the Firehouse. I’m take this time as an opportunity so others don’t make the same mistake and even though my numeric rating is low it’s not really reflective of what the Firehouse offers.
To be fair, we did visit on a cloudy Monday night so perhaps not the best time to judge but service was pretty slow given the fact that we all but had the place to ourselves and none of us were particularly happy with our dishes (just starving so we made do). I did notice that later in the week, it seemed to be hopping and it is really a great location so might be willing to give it a second try should we find ourselves back in PB.
The food and atmosphere were great. Music wasn’t too loud which allowed my fiancé and I to still enjoy date night.
Tasty food. Bottomless mimosas were a great value. The ambiance was fun and very lively. Highly recommend.
Thanks to a reservation, we were seated promptly and got an ocean view table on the rooftop deck. Gorgeous view of the ocean, boardwalk and surrounding activity.
Decor is tasteful, service was quick and attentive, menu was varied and food quality was great. I had the Buddha Bowl (quinoa, kale, sunny-side up egg, bok choy) with some protein added in - delish! My friend had the cobb salad that was fresh and tasty.
Drink menu is a standout - I had a gin and juice (gin, lime, grapefruit, ginger). Fresh tasting and thirst quenching. Friend had wine - good quality and decent price.
Only drawback was the noise level - lots of college student/millenials acting like they'd never had a drink before. Bottomless mimosas = loud convos and louder laughs. Oh, well, I was that age once, too!
Lunch for two, one drink, one coffee each = $50.00. We lingered and they didn't rush us, so we tipped generously.
Bonus - valet parking (2 hours free with restaurant validation) comes in handy, cuz it's CROWDED in this neighborhood on a Sunday afternoon!
I reserved a table prior to coming in and requested that I have a seat with a view and they were able to fulfill my request. The food was very good and I highly recommend the BLT with the fried egg.
I visited for dinner before my Senior Prom. Making a reservation was definitely the right choice as our view was spectacular. We had the chicken tenders, duck fat fries, and grilled cheese. Great portion sizes for a reasonable price and amazing view. Will be coming back soon.
My friends and I had a very enjoyable afternoon at Firehouse. However, I had called prior to making a reservation to ensure that the bottomless brunch included Saturdays and was until 3pm on Saturdays. I was informed that was correct, so I made a reservation for 12:30pm. When we had gotten there our server informed us that it was only until 1pm. Bottomless was a big part of why we had originally picked Firehouse. The food was great and we ended up getting bottles of champagne, but it was not what we had hoped for.
make is romantic bruh.
Fantastic food and service and great views of the ocean on the upper floor.
The food was great! However, our reserved table was directly in front of the DJ/speakers...would not have been able to have any type of conversation. The hostess was able to seat us downstairs. Our server was very good and as I said, the food was wonderful. I had the chicken parm, my husband had the filet. Would visit again as long as we were away from the music. Call us dinosaurs but we actually like to converse when we’re out to dinner
I was not impressed. The service was slow, didn't look like they had enough wait staff. Food was just ok, not sure of their definition of "forefront of upscale dining." It was definitely high energy with a DJ and lots of people.
