Finch & Fork is a Modern American Bar and Grill centrally located on the corner of Carrillo and Chapala streets in the heart of Santa Barbara’s vibrant downtown. Executive Chef Peter Cham draws inspiration from the vibrant local ingredients sourced from farmers and ranchers to craft an ingredient driven menu of delectable social plates and soul satisfying larger plates. The cuisine is meant to be served with artisanal wines, craft cocktails, and great beers in the relaxed atmosphere of our bar, lounge, and dining room.

Due to COVID all dining is on the rooftop of the hotel which could be very cool. Instead, it was cold, not enough heat lamps, tables are outside wood tables with uncomfortable seating. We arrived at 5:45 and didn't get our dinner served until 7pm. We were the second party to arrive but the last party to get served. They lost our ticket? While the food was good when we received it, it all seemed to come at once ... a big rush.
The first glass of wine had to be sent back, it tasted /smelled like it was bad. The water also tasted funny.. was it due to the plastic wine glasses they were serving everything in? Who knows. Finally, a 20% tip was included in the bill (for 3 people), the waiter made no mention of it. Luckily we reviewed the bill or we would have tipped twice. Value for experience ?? Low at best. We are locals. Won't be coming back for a while.

Boy what an amazing surprise. Food was, well, simply superb. The flavors melded magnificently in my scallop dinner. Make sure to have the some more pans cotta. Take my advice and order 2. Can’t wait to return.

The food was great and the service even better. However, I wish there were a few more items on the menu or a daily special or two. The selection was a little small. The fried chicken and mashed potatoes were awesome.

We often went to Finch and Fork because it was one of our favorite restaurants in Santa Barbara. This was the first time we had gone since the pandemic and we found that the burger was different than the burger with fig jam that was served before. You should have kept the old burger! This new burger was just okay, but not nearly as good as the old one. I hear you have a new chef. We ordered deviled eggs and they never came. We didn’t remind the server because we wanted to see if he would bring them but never did. At least we didn’t get charged for them. And there were very few people in the restaurant, so it wasn’t that the server was crazy busy with orders and such. Also, I asked for an Diet Coke and it took forever to come and I had to remind the server. At the end, our bill was wrong....$27 higher than what it should have been. Unfortunately we were not very impressed with the food (burgers) and service. Disappointed ☹️

Our server was so friendly and nice. My birthday plans were completely changed because of Covid-19 and our server made sure that we had a great meal and brought me a special birthday dessert. The food was delicious, all four of us loved what we ordered. Will definitely be back!

Wow! What a great restaurant. Awesome service too. All dishes were impeccable with a F&F signature touch. Jidori Chicken was amazing, trout was amazing. This is a NOT miss in SB and an example of how to survive (excuse me, FLOURISH) in a very competitive restaurant market. The great people working there also made it amazing.

Such good food. All our meals were outstanding. We had the duck, short ribs, trout, pork chops. Started with sweet potato hummus and that was outstanding. Bananas foster milkshake and toffee cake was fabulous. Excellent service. Yummy drinks. A wonderful celebration!

The service was excellent but the food this time was not as we recalled from our last experience. The broccoli was overcooked and a couple of other dishes seemed under seasoned. The waiter checked in with us for our opinion 2-3 times and offered to replace the dishes with something else. He also offered to bring us a dessert which we all declined because we were so full. We did acquiesce to a glass of wine. The manager also stopped by to inquire about our meal. We just aren’t complainers and really appreciate the excellent service but the food was sadly lacking compared to the last time we were in.

This restaurant has a nice atmosphere with a good location and lovely decor. Service at the entrance was not very friendly. Table service was a little sparse but good enough. Good selection of affordable wines. The pork chop was excellent and the cavatelli pasta was good, but not as flavorful as expected. Very nice menu, I would consider returning to try more dishes or meet friends in the bar area.

I know people have had much better experiences than I have so to be fair I’m just stating how I was treated. I had a reservation, arrived early, it was Valentine’s Day so when the host says “it’s going to be a few minutes before I can seat you.” I would say okay it’s V day very busy, but walking in, no this was nothing the case 3/4 full many empty tables. So you’d think maybe they made me wait because of service or they were going to give me a great table? Okay makes sense but sorry no again, empty booths, empty corner tables and we’re sat at 1 of 5 two person tiny tables to which my wife asks for a booth, the host “says sorry those are for four tops”...”every booth along the wall has 2 people in it she says”. He asks us to wait and moves us to a table in a very quiet part of the place which was nice. I don’t think he told anyone he sat us though because service just went down from there. Apps came out before drinks, water needed chased, dinner took 2 hours 1 app 1 small plate 2 large plates..seems excessive for a 830 reservation. Food was good, drinks were good, wouldn’t return.

Our second visit to F & F, we dined here last year. Again, the place was packed but we were seated immediately. Our server, Russell, guided us through the menu. He helped us order just enough food, appetizers and dinners. He selected a wonderful Pinot to complement the food. We cannot wait to go back again next year. Great job !!!

They do a great job on both the small plates and the entree's which are reasonably priced, certainly for Santa Barbara. And I love their washed bourbon cocktails.
