Our Chef draws inspiration from the vibrant local ingredients sourced from farmers and ranchers to craft an ingredient driven menu of delectable social plates and soul satisfying larger plates. Food on dishes was tasty separately but did not seem to complement each other.
We loved the food! Everybody in our party was very happy with their food and experience. Mimosa refills were a bit slow but we understand the bar was a bit backed up. Overall we will come again!
The ambiance at Finch & Fork was great, and the staff was friendly. The preparation of the food was sub par however. I orders a NY strip steak Medium Rare an it came out just past medium, and my wife ordered a pork chop that came out dry. My expectation certainly were higher than the execution.
The manager did comp us for the pork chop, which was great, but I would have rather had well prepared food to begin with.
In my opinion Finch & Fork is possibly the most under-rated, under-attended restaurant in SB. The food is always outstanding and last night was no exception. We had the tater tots, cesar salad, shishito peppers, the pork and the chicken. Churros for dessert. I consider myself a foodie, and I’d say all the dishes were excellent and I’d order each of them each again. Hibiscus margarita is always delicious. Service was good once we were seated. It’s generally pretty easy to get a reservation there, which always surprises me because their food is always outstanding.

We we a party of 3 and we were sat in a poorly lit (as in bad lighting, not dark with candles) room which looked to be overflow from the main quaint dining room. Drinks were expensive ($19/ glass wine, $18 martini) as was the food but that’s to be expected as it’s part of the Kimpton Canary Hotel. We have 2 apps (tuna tartar, not enough chips & buffalo Cauliflower, AWESOME). We all had the catch of the day (Halibut), it was just so-so, nothing special.
Under extraordinary circumstances Finch and Fork delivered. Many thanks to the entire team staff who filled in wherever they were needed.
Best scallops ever, incredible steak w mushrooms. Great fun atmosphere fir our daughters 40th birthdays. Only disappointment was glass my cosmo came in, we all chuckled, it was petite. Great server who thoroughly described menu and wines.
Went because the drinks sounded amazing and they have a decent selection of veggie and fish dishes. Drinks left a lot to be desired and too an exceptional amount of time (was not busy at all) "Snacks" we're awesome, mains were decent. Overall meh, for the price we expected a little more attention to detail.

Food was delicious. We had the special and though there was a small problem with the special (undercooked Risotto) they were accommodating, polite, and quickly resolved the issue.

I love(d) this restaurant and think of it as a go to for special occasions in Santa Barbara, but our last experience was terrible. As an example, we Ordered the black Caesar salad and I’ve had better salads out of a bag. The croutons weren’t fresh, nor made in house, the lettuce was wilted, and the Parmesan wasn’t freshly grated a, it was that flavorless pre shredded Parmasan that you buy in bulk. Also ordered the prosciutto melon salad and the melon wasn’t the freshest and the goat cheese with it was terrible. The poke was alright but not great. The halibut was underseasoned and overcooked. The cocktail list which used to be extensive and creative was paired down dramatically and the server didn’t even know the list. NOT worth it!!!!!
I had a reservation, nobody was at the host stand when I arrived, and when I got her attention she seemed annoyed I was there. I ordered sparkling water and waited so long for it I left and couldn’t even find the server to inform them I was leaving so they weren’t confused if they returned to the table with the water. I tried telling the host on my way out but she never looked up from her cell phone while I spoke. Disappointing experience…unnecessarily disappointing considering the food might be amazing. I’ll never know.
This was third time back at restaurant. The last two times I had an amazingly delicious pork chop. My last visit the pork chop was was somewhat dry though not overcooked. It didn’t have much flavor. The previous thin sliced apple was present but it and another accompaniment but everything was set in a somewhat bland cream sauce. Seemed like recipe had changed from last two visits.
Service was slightly above mediocre but for price point I may not be going back soon. What I had considered one of the best pork chop dinners seems to be no longer the case.

Great spot in Santa Barbara for a raucous brunch! Amazing service in a fantastic Spanish revival space. Great bloody mary's. very comfortable indoors during covid.
I'd recommend the shrimp + polenta. a great take on shrimp + grits.
The service was not great. The food was cold when it arrived and we waited for several things we asked for like salt and pepper.

Restaurant is at the Kimpton hotel downtown, entering through the lobby. Booths are well separated for social distancing. Menu is quite short, with just a few options each for starters, appetizers, cocktails and entrees. Food was very tasty. Pork chops were excellent and the halibut with the corn was outstanding. Service was quick and efficient.
It was enjoyable, but we were not blown away. Had the olives— delicious — the jidori chicken was perfectly cooked and delicious, came with braised carrots, which were luscious. The black garlic Cesar was solid, too. Service could have been a bit more attentive.

Our waiter really loved his job and the restaurant. I found the menu to be very limited, however the food was good, portions and quality.
On the negative side, they charged $12 for a bottle of San Peligrino water (about twice what we usually pay). The hostess/helper was under dressed and looked out of place. Out bill without alcohol, appetizers, dessert or tip was $120.
Overall not a good value.
The ambiance was very nice. However, the service was sub par. Our server did not engage much with us at all. Our drink orders took more than 15 minutes and my husband's drink was incorrect. Followed with a significant delay in our appetizers and entrees. Although the food was quite tasty, the lack of service would not get me to come back anytime soon. I really wanted to enjoy this place, as the setting seemed great. The service and delays could've been communicated better and I would've been understanding.
The food (once it came) was hot and very good. Our waiter was very attentive. We had a res at 6:15(early) because that's all we could get through open table. We arrived at about 5:45 had a cocktail at the bar first. Then decided to sit at our table at 6:15. There was no one there! The waiter said that people book a res then don't show. He said they had about 50 no-shows. We sat is a rather dark and sparce space. Ambiance not good. When you're in SB, you want to at least see and maybe feel the beatiful outdoors in the summer. This restaurant makes sense to eat in if you are staying at the hotel and need a quick bite. Otherwise, there are more pleasant options is beautiful SB.
The service is great. The food is a little disappointing. Porkchop is nice. However, the rest is not so impressive.
The dinner menu is PATHETIC. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants. I will not go there anymore until they have a decent dinner menu.

AWFUL MANAGEMENT! They can't even set up their reservation system correctly. We drove 1.5 hrs for a bday dinner to this location after making reservations at this location through Open Table only to find out they are closed on Sundays for dinner even though the restaurant kept letting reservations be made. If you can't manage your reservation system maybe you are in the wrong business. This comes from a person working in the restaurant industry for almost 40 years.
The menu is short, but the food was amazing. My partner had the halibut and I had the pork chop….wow! An SB gem for sure!
I was happy to be back, but the night let me down. They seemed understaffed (a chronic problem these days), so it took a long time to get someone to the table. Appetizers were very good. I ordered the catch of the day, which was halibut. It arrived Luke warm and dry, and we had to order the wine when the food arrived. My friend had the chicken, which she very much enjoyed. The place is not really inexpensive, so I am disappointed. The staff was very nice and seemed to be trying. Everything was just off. Ce la vie.

The food was just mediocre and with so many other great restaurants in Santa Barbara I would recommend looking at other options for brunch.
