Best Restaurants for Spicy Food in Wheatley

The Beetle & Wedge has an idyllic situation by the River Thames, and the meal - we were four people who all ate Sunday roasts - was equally good. The staff were friendly and efficient, and my only minor criticism was that they barely gave us time to think, for we had only just finished one course when they brought us the menu for the next.

Food was excellent but the policy that your food comes out when it’s ready and as a result your large plat comes out before the small plates is ridiculous… a kitchen should be able to pace the food better.. and not rush the patrons.. Your other establishment The Back Lane Tavern manages to pace the meal much better and one doesn’t feel hurried..

Easy to book via Open Table including a time amendment. Took my daughter for dinner on a Saturday evening. We were greeted by a bar man on entering and were immediately seen to a very nice table for 4 even though there were two of us giving us plenty of room. Service was prompt and informative. We ordered the warm Sourdough to start which was fresh and nicely warm. My daughter had the Chicken Schnitzel and loved it. I had the Lamb Pave with Moroccan couscous and roasted veg, which was delicious. To finish we indulged in the warm chocolate fondant cake with melted chocolate inside, ice cream and white chocolate sauce. All in all a fabulous experience.
