An exceptionally stylish supper club, civilized speakeasy, a sophisticated saloon. Each of these "personae" is housed in a soaring two-story interior distinguished by a gently curving mahogany bar, fluted columns with ornate capitals, stunning original art, plush banquettes, cozy booths, starched linens, glittering glasses, and polished flatware. Overall, the ambiance is pure 1930's and 1940's - tasteful art moderne reminiscent of the glory days of Cunard and French Line ships. Fashionable and glamorous are the hallmarks. Trendy is simply not a part of the BIX culture.     We were so looking forward to celebrating our daughter's birthday with high tea at The Fairmont. Sadly, we were informed you no longer have it on Sunday afternoon. We had a lovely brunch with four of Caitlin’s friends. Our server was wonderful, drinks delicious and our food was exceptional. I do, however, encourage you to bring back the tea. There’s just something very special about a tea on Sunday with your daughter.

    First we had a wonderful table upstairs. The service was excellent and our server, Scott, was wonderful and attentive. We enjoyed the food: my husband loved the bones marrow (unusual dish but quite good), I liked the crab rolls and the beef short rib. My husband was not thrilled with the crab pasta, too spicy killing the taste of crab. He was offered the same plate without the chili and when we paid, that dish was deducted! Deserts were just okay. Overall a good experience. Just wish people were not so loud!

    Outstanding server. Very professional and courteous. Though it was a lunch booking, we were not rushed. He made sure we are served with drinks and have needed time to review the menu. Both tomatoes and mushroom soups were yummy. The salad portion was generous too.
