Best Live Music Restaurants in Downtown

We dined here for a business dinner and had a wonderful time. The Palm offered us a private room for our party and while the noise at first was pretty loud (they had live music), it got better throughout the evening and the private room helped us to have a nice conversation. The service was great and everyone in our group said their meals and drinks were very good. Parking was also easier than expected - lots of available street parking and valet offered off San Jacinto.

The food and cocktails were enjoyable, and we appreciated the unique concept of having a performance with each dish—it gave the restaurant a special and ceremonial touch. We were especially looking forward to the steak show, which was the main reason we ordered that particular dish. Unfortunately, it was served while I had briefly stepped away to the restroom, and I missed the entire performance. It would have been nice if the staff had waited just a minute or two or at least informed the server presenting the dish. Throughout the meal, the service felt rushed. Our server, a blonde female, cleared our plates very quickly—even while I was still eating and there was still food on the plate. There was no communication or courtesy check before removing the dishes, which made us feel a bit uncomfortable. Additionally, we ordered sparkling water and tap water, but later noticed we were charged for two bottles, which seemed inconsistent with our request. The tip was automatically included in the total bill of $691, but unfortunately, the level of service we received did not reflect the premium pricing. It felt like the goal was to move us along quickly rather than to provide a thoughtful dining experience. On a positive note, I would like to highlight the exceptional service from the restroom attendant. She went above and beyond—opening and closing the door, dispensing soap, turning the faucet on and off, and offering paper towels. Her attentiveness and care stood out and truly deserved recognition.
