The Getty is beautiful and it was so special to see it reopen but the garden tea was not worth the price. I just expected more for the $65 price point. The food was good and the service excellent but the setting and room that the grade tea was in felt like a multipurpose conference room with drab carpet and worn out chairs. The menu was just a paper printout and the table setting China was nothing special. The whole thing just lacked the feel of a Garden afternoon tea at the Villa. We all fessed up and really felt like we didn’t need to at all. We expected so much more for the ambiance.

A hotel guest had a medical issue that meant they needed to stay in their location occupying a portion of the living room where tea is served. Very sad unusual situation that was beyond anyone’s control. The staff went above and beyond both to make them comfortable and to take care of impacted customers for the tea. It was really impressive to see them treat the hotel guest so kindly and also to make sure that everyone at the tea who was celebrating something still felt special about the day. Hard to overstate how impressed we were with the service.

We come here only for their fish and chips And the sticky trifle and cream Their bus boy is excellent running all over the the place and always available to refill and clean up. Tip him please. The servers are always sweet and funny. One thing though I have noticed they stopped adding open table reservation points the last 3 times I went.

High tea at The London isn’t just an outing — it’s an experience wrapped in velvet and served on fine china. The setting? Think red carpet elegance with the ease of an A-lister who’s actually nice. The staff? Polished but warm — like if your best friend worked in luxury hospitality and knew how to read your tea leaves and your mood. Now let’s talk about the tea tower — a stunning triple-tiered moment of edible art. Buttery scones so perfect they could have agents, cucumber sandwiches cut with surgical precision, and pastries that whisper sweet nothings before melting on your tongue. I opted for the Earl Grey and, yes, the champagne pairing because… well, obviously. It’s giving celebrity cow with a Michelin palate and a farmer’s market soul. Luxe, but never aloof. Glam, but grounded. Just the way high tea should be.
