Best Restaurants for Afternoon Tea in Chicago

Perfect for our anniversary dinner! Our waiter was very sweet and attentive. The pasta dishes were fabulous and the salad with flower petals was fun, fresh, and delicious.

Kim and Uvaldo were very friendly and we appreciated engaging in conversation with them- it allowed us to build a rapport and feel welcome. The food was delicious- no complaints at all there other than it taking a long time to come out especially given that there were only 3 other tables. We come here from time to time mainly for the food and the familiarity with some of the staff, however, it’s WAY too quiet and the silence can be uncomfortably deafening. We would return more often if the above was addressed.

The Allis offers a beautifully designed space that makes it a great spot for everything from brunch to evening cocktails. The ambiance is undoubtedly the highlight — stylish, cozy, and perfect for conversation. The food and cocktails are good, well-prepared, and presented nicely, but they don’t particularly stand out. If you’re looking for a culinary wow moment, you might not find it here, but everything still tastes solid and satisfying. What truly elevates the experience is the service. The staff is friendly, attentive, and well-trained, adding warmth to the already inviting atmosphere.
