Best Restaurants that are Worth The Drive in Westerville

It was a wonderful dinner before the big game! We always like to attend Restaurant Week at Jay Gilbert's for the fabulous food and the great value!

This is a neighborhood favorite; always reliable on all fronts. The main dining room is loud when full but we often get seated in the outdoor area which is obviously enclosed and heated in winter. This is normally much quieter. Last night was made noisy only by the inconsideration of two patrons who saw friends and went to speak with them , for nearly 15 minutes, speaking very loudly right next to our table. Of course the ‘friends,’ who did not speak loudly, appeared irritated that their dinner for two was being interrupted and said so to each other after their ‘friends’ left. That was the only thing that marred an otherwise good end-of-week wind-down dinner in a favorite local venue.

Pre theatre dinner. The grilled salmon and veggies were tasty and healthy. My dining companion had the lasagna and chicken parm combo, and he loved it. Only bad thing was that the previous diners unscrewed the top to the parmesan cheese, and when we went to use it, it went all over the meal. Luckily, he likes cheese, but it would have been over the top if he didn't like the cheese. The server was gracious and offered to bring new food, but he accepted the cheese without issue. Maybe just have the servers/bus boys check the cheese shakers after every table leaves.

So glad we decided to try this restaurant. The service was amazing and our server was so knowledgeable about all the drinks and the menu options. My husband and I are GF and there were so many options for us to eat, definitely a new favorite.

We had a wonderful experience as soon as we were greeted at the door. We were celebrating my husband's birthday, and they were kind enough to give us a complimentary dessert. The meal portions were huge! We WILL be going back to Hyde Park in Dublin very soon!
