I went with my sons for my 59th birthday dinner. We went early because we are a low key group and just wanted a good meal without a lot of fuss. I picked this place because I love Italian food and wanted good cocktails to choose from. The inside was better than I imagined, very nice ambiance and decor.

Well this was not a 5star rating because open door do not make my reservation + the restaurant was out of the food choices I really wanted

Fumo has been a tremendous addition to our neighborhood both as a culinary success and as an authentic casual Italian dining establishment in particular (so very needed in the upper west) We dine at Fumo frequently and have tried many of their creative dishes, much to our delight (even the kids were excited!) and find the menu friendly and delicious. The staff is extremely knowledgeable. personable and attentive, always making sure we are totally happy with the preparation and food restrictions, they have recommended us excellent wine pairing and help the kids with their choices. The ambiance is pleasant, the space is not crammed and the beautiful big windows facing Broadway give it a feeling of a charming Trattoria in Italy - matched by super reasonable prices for the quality of food and service. We recently celebrated our daughter's birthday at Fumo with 20 friends and family, and after working closely with the management on the menu and details it ended up a major success with everyone having a great time. We highly recommend this restaurant!
