Best Historic Restaurants in Bampton

Food was excellent as usual , staff again excellent and ambience excellent. The roast was amazing as well as all other options chosen .

Beautiful setting for a hotel/restaurant, worth a visit for that alone. Very peaceful by the sitting by the stream. Hotel is situated in a lovely little hamlet. Inside the restaurant, the ambience was lovely, staff all very friendly. The food was very tasty but slightly expensive for what it was.

We had the best Sunday roast here at the Old Crown Inn for many a year. We choose the chicken supreme which was served with roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, and other veg including Yorkshire pudding. All were cooked to perfection and served with gravy.

Undoubtedly a magical place with just the right alchemy of good food, professional service and sense of self. We enjoyed just “being there”, mixing with a wedding party, Morris dancers and some lovely dogs, all while the village fete was unfolding.
