The sun was beating dow, atop our canopy - we sort of ate outside - and the near view over the River Cherwell, with punting young folk, was near idyllic. The food was better than I thought it would be. I have eaten lunch here on four occasions, but this most recent visit was unquestioanbly the finest lunch the Cherwell Boathouse has served me. The wine selection was impressive too. But perhaps best of all - and that takes some topping - was the warm and friendly service we received. The three young members of staff made us feel as if we were in their houses, not at their place of employment. I would go out of my way to recommened lunch at the Cherwell Boathouse and I hope to have many more in the future. LM.More infoCherwell BoathousePrice: Expensive• Modern European• Oxford•4.8

I am onion and garlic intolerant, I know, a pain, I wish I were not, but this place (very unusually) takes it entirely in its stride.More infoKibou CheltenhamPrice: Expensive• Japanese• Cheltenham•4.8

- CChrisLondon •2 reviews5.0Dined on Jun 8, 2025Had lunch on a sunny Sunday in the orangery. I’ve been once before about a month ago. The waiter who served me then remembered me, which was very nice since he must serve many people. As before the service was discreet and prompt but with no pressure to ‘hurry up’. The setting is stunning, especially on a sunny day. We had a table by a window, seated on very comfortable chairs, (which is fairly rare for most restaurants, amazingly) and the food was very good. I had arugula salad with avocado, my host had salmon with Caesar salad and we both chose the ‘no words’ caramel crème brûlée for dessert. Throughly enjoyable and would recommend.More infoThe Orangery at RH EnglandPrice: Very Expensive• American• Banbury•4.8
