Best Vegan Restaurants in East Haven

Based on the reviews, I was expecting good food and was not disappointed. I was pleasantly surprised by the creative / modern twists on classic Spanish flavors and our server was outstanding— attentive without being disruptive. We’re looking forward to returning!

Nick was our server and he was excellent!!!! My husband and I really enjoyed our experience because Nick made sure of it. We started off the meal a little confused about the menu and Nick dove right into it, explaining everything and letting us know what his favorites were. He was also the bartender (we were at a table) and he made an excellent drink. The Midas martini was amazing! My husband said it was the best, well balanced cocktail he’s ever had and I’m a bartender lol HIS WIFE who makes him drinks all the time and Nick was so great he took first place! I love that for him!!! While preparing our courses, he explained everything so well and took the time to get to know us. At the end of our experience he made us the cutest “Date Night” chocolate plate which was a really nice touch. My husband and I have both worked downtown and currently both work in restaurants as a bartender and as a manager. We frequent the restaurants downtown mid week because those are our days off and we understand that on slower nights it can be a little discouraging, especially downtown during the summer. Nick had an amazing attitude and catered to us beautifully. We will come back and tell everyone we know about the wonderful experience but most importantly the amazing service we received. Thank you Nick for making a regular date night something very special for us!!!

Good news: The food was delicious. I had the Chicken Scarpiella and it was flavorful. My wife ordered the Branzino and she loved it, The portions were large and both dishes were outstanding, Bad news: The service was adequate at best. Our waiter seemed like he was put out by our simple requests - ice when none was provided and water when we ran out. Only once during the 90 minutes or so we were there did anyone offer to refill our waters. We were forced to get various peoples attention for water as our server only checked in with us once while we were eating and once to ask if we wanted dessert. Aside from the hostess who sat us and the food runner who was genuinely friendly and seemed to care about our satisfaction, I was underwhelmed with the service. I would like to return but will need to think twice based on the service.
