Best Restaurants with a Scenic View in Carver

Noble Rot is an excellent restaurant - food, service, everything - except…they have a long table with a bench on one side and chairs on the other that can be divided for different parties or one big party. I didn’t mind being sat at a shared table too much, but I was seated on the bench and it was ridiculously uncomfortable. No back support and the seat itself was hard as a rock. So this review is 4 star instead 5 (6 if I could!) because of this really hard seat. It’s a lesson for me, and maybe you, to specifically be asked to sit at a table with chairs, or in the banquettes that have cushioned benches.

It was my sweetie's birthday, and Salty's made the evening special. First, they prepared the table with shiny-colored birthday confetti and a birthday card. Then, when the meal was over, they served us a slice of birthday cake with a glass of bubbly each. My wife had halibut, and I had steelhead; both were outstanding. This was not our first time at Salty's. I remember the last time I was there, the salmon was fantastic. I cannot remember what my wife had, but she loved it. The waitress was very friendly and personable. From our table, we had a beautiful view of the river. I looked around the dining room, and most, if not all, tables had a view of the river. If there is a negative, the noise level was moderate. We plan to return for our anniversary.

Food was OUTSTANDING! We got the burrata cheese, bread, butternut squash ravioli with the cream sauce and ragu. My only complaint was the bread being a bit dry and cold as well as the pasta being under salted. The service was pretty good. Our waitress was a bit cold, but there were other staff around who gave us recommendations and helped us out. The ambiance is amazing. Nice, quiet restaurant. Feels like you’re in someone’s living room, sipping a drink and looking at a view.

Had a wonderful Mother’s Day brunch there with my family and there was truly something for every picky eater to enjoy. And the service was so great - we had a manager offer to walk with us outside to take our photo against the backdrop of the river - she did not have to do that. And they were so kind to move us to a spot that wasn’t a high top. They even made us the most extraordinary brunch coffee cocktail - on the house due to our wait, which was not bad at all. My husband enjoyed his more traditional eggs and sausage while my son and I slurped oysters and clam chowder, perfect truffle fries, and a lightly seasoned lobster roll. All delicious! We made a mental note to bring family here when they visit; such a great place with impeccable service and lovely views. Thank you, King Tide!

Our experience at Departure was excellent; the food, the waitstaff and the ambience were all top notch. We had family from out of town and they were impressed by the hotel and the view from the restaurant. We would definitely enjoy another meal there. Everything was delicious!!!
