Best Romantic Restaurants in Charlbury

A really great meal. The food was original, interesting and just generally fantastic. Easily one of the best dining experiences I've had in the local area. Also a very good wine list. Some dishes may appear small at first glance, but they all have little extra's that meant myself and my dining partner were happily full by the end.

Lovely food, lovely flavours, great service. The yurt sort of muffles sound so although it's small, it's not noisy.

We had a very good evening when we visited on a Friday Night. The service is really top notch and the fillet steak was cooked perfectly. We would recommend that you visit this pub and eat - its really worth it. A bonus is that the staff are really welcoming of dogs so you can bring them with you to!

The Fleece overlooks the green in the heart of beautiful Witney. Parking was plentiful and the perfect place to stop for a stroll around the shops too. Greeted by a warm welcome, we were shown to our table and served by James, who couldn’t have provided a better service. I chose from the specials board, Asparagus to start then the delightful Monkfish, cooked in paper to retain the juices and sitting proudly on a bed of mussels, olives and sweet tiny tomatoes. My Husband, the birthday boy, had crab and then the succulent rolled Pork Belly. All the food was delicious, served promptly accompanied with a very tasty cocktail. No room for pudding. Sadly, the Fleece is about two hours drive away for us because we would undoubtedly return regularly. If you are in the area, don’t miss this opportunity. We loved it.

We were originally seated by a door which was letting in a draft . We asked to be moved. A young waiter was asked. He really didn’t want to move us despite there being several no shows. He went over to another member of staff and said “you sort it, they want to move” it was really rude. Food was ok…… lacked seasoning and despite menu sounding impressive it isn’t quite there yet.
