Even though Olivine is a wine bar, I mostly go there for the delicious food. The steak, chicken, terrine & pate, the brussels sprouts (swoon) and fries are all great. The wine's always good too. The fitout looks lovely, but sadly the designers prioritised form over function - the cell bench seating is really uncomfortable! Nevertheless, the ambience is great and I like the idea of us all collectively creating a new, more positive cultural memory to sit alongside the history of the place. If you haven't been, I definitely recommend a visit. Do leave time to check out the historical info in the unrestored cells; it feels important to honor and try to understand the story of the place while we're there.

Absolutely stunning space for a special dinner or catch up with friends. Waitstaff were attentive and very knowledgeable about the food and wine pairings. Dessert menu options were amazing, just couldn’t fit it in - next time!

Great service & great recommendations. Were patient when came to food allergies ensuring the food was prepared exactly to my dietary needs. Will definitely be back!

Great service.. as I'm Ceoliac and need GF food, was plenty of GF or GFO on the menu

Enjoyed the visit overall - staff were lovely and attentive, the food was delicious but a little bit slow between starters and the bigger dishes. Ambiance was great. Only note is that the wines were quite expensive - the cheapest glass was $20 and would have appreciated more of a range in terms of cost. I find that most places will offer glasses at varying cost between $16-$24
