Raasa – First Impressions Visited Raasa on what I believe was their first weekend of service. The food overall was of good quality, with some strong dishes that showed clear potential. That said, the menu felt quite limited and lacked coherence in places. A more focused, well-structured set menu might have helped showcase the kitchen’s strengths better at this early stage. A couple of bread options would have been a nice touch too. Was not sure dosa works as a bread option. We started with the scallops, which were a highlight—well-executed and flavourful. For mains, we tried the lamb shank biryani, which had great flavours but came in a portion far too large for one person—more suited for sharing. The chicken tikka was also good, nicely cooked and seasoned. Service was unfortunately not up to the same standard. The team were clearly trying hard, but it felt like they hadn’t had enough time to train properly yet. Hopefully, this improves as they settle in. Raasa has promise—some good dishes and a clear passion for food—but it still feels like it’s finding its footing. I’d be interested to return once the menu develops and the service team finds its rhythm

Had a lovely dinner as a family at Cyprianis last night. The food and drinks were lovely, with the lamb dishes and haloumi starter being special highlights. My son had the beef ragu pasta and he loved that as well. The service was impeccable and the price, I think, reasonable for what we had. The restaurant itself is lovely inside and as it was quiet when we arrived we were offered our choice of where we wanted to sit. We will most likely be back.

A Hidden Gem for Authentic Indian Cuisine! Celebrated my birthday at The Indian Essence by Atul Kochhar and was blown away! Initially unsure about authenticity, but trusted the chef—and it paid off. The Murgh Tiranga and Gilafi Lamb Sheekh Kebab were packed with flavour, and the Gol Mirch Gosht and Shahi Malai Kofta stole the show. Loved the nostalgic touch of chaat masala salad, and desserts like the rasmalai with rabdi and sticky toffee pudding were the perfect finish. Warm, attentive staff made the evening even more special with a surprise birthday dessert. Truly a memorable experience
