- SSandraLondon •3 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoWe treated ourselves to dinner for my husband’s birthday and what a treat it was! From start to finish it was a fabulous experience. The food was spectacular, not a morsel was left on our plate. Service was impeccable, we were checked in on often enough to ensure we had everything we needed but not so often we felt rushed. The little decorated birthday treat was so appreciated. Five stars all around!More infoChapter OnePrice: Very Expensive• Modern European• Orpington•4.7
- AAngusKent •1 review5.0Dined 3 days agoOnly made decision to go about an hour ahead and what a find. Good atmosphere in the pub and the food quality was every bit as good as at the Ashdown Park Hotel which has two aa rosettes. Good wine list and excellent Harvey's beer. The sauce with the Hake main course was superb.More infoThe Hatch Inn HartfieldPrice: Expensive• Gastro Pub• Hartfield•4.7
- DDouglasLondon •2 reviews5.0Dined 7 days agoI stumbled across the Dorset Arms while in the area and what caught my eye straight away was the sight of oysters on the menu, not something you expect from a traditional pub tucked away in the middle of Sussex. Naturally, curiosity (and a love of good seafood) led me in. I was genuinely impressed. The Mersey oysters were outstanding, fresh, briny, and as good as any I’ve had. In fact, I usually swear by the oysters at Smiths in Wapping, which are hard to top, but these were right up there. To start, I had the Padron peppers, which were perfectly blistered with just the right touch of salt. For my main, the flat chicken really delivered, juicy, full of flavour, and nicely glazed. If I had to nitpick, the accompanying salad could have used a little more variety, maybe some cherry tomatoes or peppers for a pop of colour and texture. The wine list was a pleasant surprise too. I started with a white that paired beautifully with the oysters, then switched to a rosé that was dangerously easy to drink. The staff were polite, the atmosphere relaxed, and the food far exceeded expectations. If you are anywhere near the area, the Dorset Arms is absolutely worth a visit, especially if you’re an oyster lover. Highly recommended.More infoThe Dorset Arms PubPrice: Expensive• Gastro Pub• Hartfield•4.7
