An overwhelming amount of work paled into insignificance against the excitement at what they thought could be created in this out of the way building with a very long and interesting history. A lot of hard labour ensued to create their vision of showcasing the best qualities of a modern pub; seamlessly combining carefully sourced, sophisticated yet familiar food and drink in a welcoming authentic pub environment. Elegant, delicious food alongside fantastic local beers, unusual wines and a great array of craft spirits all wrapped up in a relaxed atmosphere.

The Old Quay House is uniquely located on the edge of the RSPB Hayle Estuary, with its beautiful views and wildlife to enjoy. We offer a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for couples and families alike. We have the pleasure of working with a small selection of wonderful people that grow, rear and catch remarkable ingredients and our menus reflect this, changing regularly (if not daily). CAST Café is run by the duo that set up and managed Argoe (as Restaurant Manager and Head Chef for 3+ years), which received and maintained numerous accolades under their management. The couple are thrilled to now venture out on their own, continuing to offer great food and hospitality in this beautiful setting.
