Best Romantic Restaurants in Weston Turville

We visited The Ivy in St Albans on Saturday night for the first time together, after my partner recommended it, and it certainly did not disappoint! We shared two starters, and both were absolutely gorgeous. I then had the fish cakes for my main, which I thoroughly enjoyed. We were both feeling full by dessert, but after spotting someone else’s and deciding it looked too tempting, we shared one, and we were so glad we did! The staff were wonderful, friendly, helpful and really knowledgeable when it came to recommending wines. Our waitress mentioned she had only been there a week, but you would never have known from how knowledgeable and attentive she was. The whole experience was fantastic. The food, service and atmosphere were all lovely, and we were pleasantly surprised by the bill. I expected it to be considerably more, so it was definitely great value for money. Even though we were almost the last people there before closing, we never felt rushed or pressured to leave. That really made the evening feel relaxed and special. We had such a lovely time and will definitely be returning. Highly recommend!

My friends Sara, Anne-marie & I love this restaurant. It is our new meet up place now three times a year. We won't go anywhere else now. Best service, best food and such a pretty place. So relaxing! A wonderful experience as always! Service is impeccable and food is delicious. Two salmon starters and one scallops along with bread to nibble beforehand. Two monkfish with leaves and one game stew with mashed potato. Three fancies for dessert followed by coffee. So yummy. I’ll definitely be back! My only constructive criticism is that I felt the fancies were suited to an accompaniment for coffee rather than as an actual dessert. However some calories were saved, so I should be thankful for that!

The food was very good, the service equally so, the environment was very comfortable and it was good value for money. A true restaurant not somewhere just to go to get something to eat. We will return
