Excellent service, including great recommendations by both our server and the sommelier. We appreciated their care and attention to detail. The steak and pasta were highlights. Restaurant was boisterous with fairly loud music.

Café Lunette Halifax Le Grand Fromage: An Alsatian Wine & Cheese Affair Have been to Café Lunette a couple of times before but never for dinner. This was a special that included their Prix Fixe menu plus a wine & cheese tasting for $65pp. (The Prix Fixe menu is regularly $38pp). We got there a little early so took advantage of their flutes & frites for $10. Yummy but we should’ve restrained ourselves, ended up being very full by the end of the evening. He had the French Onion Soup & I chose the Chicken Liver Parfait as the starter (our second starter 🍟😜). Both were delicious. I really liked the chutney & pickled onions that came with the pâté. Then he had the sirloin & frites (yes, more yummy chips) & I had the Chicken Leg Confit with salad. The servings were generous, the food was hot & well prepared. The service was great! Then we got to taste 3 French cheeses along with 3 white wines from the Alsace region. We liked them all & had our favourites. The wine & cheese tasting was loosely guided. The wines were described in more detail than the cheeses & we were left on our own to discover how they went together. Altogether a wonderful experience in a pleasing atmosphere that included live music. They promised there would be more special events in the future.

A truly enjoyable afternoon tea experience! Service friendly, attentive, and quick. Ambiance is beautiful.
