Antico is an independent, chef-owned Northern Italian restaurant in Bucktown, Chicago, celebrated for our fresh, seasonal ingredients and rustic yet elegant atmosphere. Our menu offers Northern Italian dishes centered on freshness and high quality, with most menu items including pasta, gnocchi, and gelato prepared in-house daily. Those we don't make are imported directly from the best sources in Italy, such as our Prosciutto di Parma, Parmigiano Reggiano, and Mozzarella di Bufala from Campania. Consistent with our approach to food, we carefully select Northern Italian wines from smaller, passionate winemakers who share our commitment to quality. By selecting wines from the same specific regions in Northern Italy that inspire our menu items, we take advantage of the historical relationship created by centuries of both food and wine evolving together to create the perfect match.

The food was delicious (escargot, soft-shelled crab sandwich, and unusual and tasty fish sausage on sour dough) and the staff very friendly. Half-price bottles of wine on Mondays a great value. It did take more time than I would have liked for our food to get to us. We were seated at one of the quieter tables. So glad not to have been in the main area, which was deafening.

John's Food & Wine was very good food! The check in process was very odd, as you order directly when you arrive at the host stand. I understand it creates some efficiencies but it felt odd and caught us off guard as we booked the reservation through Open Table vs visiting the website, which explained the process in further detail. Additionally, we were seated in the back room which did not mention the vibe of the main dining area. The service was very good when we did interact with a server during our experience and again the food was exceptional and full of flavor.

Lovely night. Second time there and service much better. Food is solid. Love the steak tartar and my fish was outstanding. Steak frites very nice as well. Mussels need work. Great sauce but both times there very small and not meaty at all. But otherwise great night.
