Best Restaurants with a Tasting Menu in Caldwell

It's been a couple of years since we last visited Matisse, and in that time new chef Greg Powers hasn't skipped a beat after taking over from Peter Loria. The food is still delicious and well-presented, the service remains outstanding and the ambiance is just perfect for a special occasion. The only two down notes were the background music that was a bit repetitive (try mixing up the artists just a little more) and the single unisex bathroom that lacked air-conditioning on a warm summer evening (but which I suspect is a limitation of the space that can't be addressed without substantial inconvenience and cost). Still, we look forward to returning soon to try a new season's dishes and specials that represent an improvement over the old Matisse.

As always the quality and consistency are amazing.

What a lovely experience! The atmosphere was sophisticated and warm. Our server, Guillermo, couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. One of the mains wasn't as described. Guillermo told the manager who came to the table to apologize and removed the charge for it. Other than that dish, everything was delicious and served beautifully. We will definitely go again. Highly recommend The Hartley for an elevated dining experience.

Ours was a Moet Chandon tasting dinner that was superb 👌 Servers were professional and courteous! Food was great and the presentation was wonderful. All around was a fun,delicious experience

IT WAS A GREAT NIGHT AT RUTH’S CHRIS — THE DECOR WAS MODERN WITH SUBDUED LIGHTING & A QUIET NOISE LEVEL, THE SERVICE WAS WARM & CORDIAL AND THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS — I RECOMMEND THE PRIX FIXE MENU WHICH ALLOWS YOU TO TASTE A LITTLE BIT OF EVERYTHING — IT’S FILLING WITHOUT LEAVING YOU UNCOMFORTABLY FULL — THANKS FOR A FUN & TASTY DINNER RUTH’S CHRIS!!!
