• French American • Oakland
Booked 23 times today
Butterjoint is a comfy bar and restaurant located in North Oakland. Our welcoming and eclectic atmosphere is appropriate for almost any occasion - whether it be meeting a friend for a drink, celebrating an important event, or relaxing after work. Our menu is a mixture of familiar Pittsburgh foods (think pierogies, hamburgers, French fries) and French bistro classics (beef tartare, raclette, mussels), and seasonal classics that come and go throughout the year. We put care into our vegetarian dishes too, including making our own tempeh, falafel, and veggie patties from scratch. Menu items change frequently--usually every day--and reflect many long-standing relationships we have with farms and breweries in our region. In addition to reservations, we also have a thirty seat bar that is first come, first serve. We don’t know exactly how old the bar is, but it’s at least seventy years old (probably older) and very cozy. Our friendly bartenders are here to make something you like.

Vallozzi's started over 50 years ago when Helen Vallozzi was selling homemade pastas out of her home. Helen opened a take out restaurant in Latrobe, PA a few years later where her popularity exploded. In 1977, Ernie Vallozzi moved his mothers location to Greensburg where it is still open and operating today. In 2012 Ernie's son Julian expanded the tradition in to downtown Pittsburgh. Vallozzi's Pittsburgh has recently joined a mere 1,200 restaurants worldwide as a recipient of the Wine Spectator Magazine's Best of Award of Excellence and is the only Italian restaurant in Pittsburgh to receive such an honor. We can host your intimate date, family dinner, business meetings, or larger parties in our banquet room. Or come enjoy a specially made cocktail in our bar area and a small bite.

I had an excellent meal at Eleven. Anna was my server and she was attentive, professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. I was celebrating my birthday and enjoyed a sangria and the absolutely delicious Seafood Tasting (Scallop, Halibut, Crab Cake), which I highly recommend - it comes in a wonderful sauce with corn salsa. All around the restaurant, there were couples on dates, friends enjoying a meal and drinks together, and colleagues at a work dinner celebration. Seems like a perfect place for all kinds of events. Valet is only $6 if I recall correctly so that isn't a downtown dining issue at all. Anyway, Eleven has become my favorite big burrito group establishment. .

This was our first time going, atmosphere in An ambience. I loved. Love the decor and the way the tables and chairs are set up and styled . We were very comfortable sitting and having an intimate dinner. The food was top-notch. I didn’t give a five only because a little bit heavy on the salt for the truffle fries, but that could’ve just been my pallet. Everything was very flavorful and cooked perfectly. server was very knowledgeable and helpful on any questions we had on the menu. the mixologist for the drinks spot on definitely give the place a five star.
