Butterjoint is a comfy bar and restaurant located in North Oakland. Our welcoming and eclectic atmosphere is appropriate for almost any occasion - whether it be meeting a friend for a drink, celebrating an important event, or relaxing after work. Our menu is a mixture of familiar Pittsburgh foods (think pierogies, hamburgers, French fries) and French bistro classics (beef tartare, raclette, mussels), and seasonal classics that come and go throughout the year. We put care into our vegetarian dishes too, including making our own tempeh, falafel, and veggie patties from scratch. Menu items change frequently--usually every day--and reflect many long-standing relationships we have with farms and breweries in our region. In addition to reservations, we also have a thirty seat bar that is first come, first serve. We don’t know exactly how old the bar is, but it’s at least seventy years old (probably older) and very cozy. Our friendly bartenders are here to make something you like.

Meat & Potatoes is a high end gastropub in downtown Pittsburgh. Its kitchen takes as its inspiration the idea of elevating comfort food to a gourmet level.     Our first time- will definitely be back! Excellent food. We shared some apps to try more things and shared a crispy chicken sandwich with fries. Pierogis were outstanding. Great crostini. Sauerkraut balls were a creative dish (love sauerkraut). Sandwich and the roll great. Good fries. Definitely more pierogis next time and when we can try out a signature drink. We had an early lunch/weekday and it was quiet. I’ve heard it’s hopping for dinner/weekends, and there’s seating outside for nice evenings or a sunny summer day (umbrellas for shade).

    Sufficient food choices. Nice cocktail, wine, & beer choices. Great food, all of us (4) loved our appetizers & dinners. Our server Jordy was friendly & knowledgeable. Everything from atmosphere to food, drinks, service, & personnel was fabulous! I would highly recommend this restaurant.

    We had some outstanding new menu items but had to start with old favorite the smoked trout rillettes, they are so bright and delicious. The Asparagus with Lobster and sauce Americaine was an eye-opener. I had never had Sauce Americaine before, and it was subtle and wonderful. We shared the roasted half chicken with spring salad which was out of this world. the peas and sugar snap peas in the salad were so fresh and delicious. the dressing and the sauce for the chicken melded together to make a wonderful flavor. Wines were tasty and the service ws great.
