Lovely building, comfy chairs, can bring your dog. Food was very nice, duch starter about touch but still delicious with the ginger and rest of salad. Fish and chips went off well, we prefer take the skin off chips. Lovely coffees and shortbread.

Great food. Really great food. Was very hot in the restaurant, on the hottest day of the year, but we loved the castle setting and look forward to coming back.

Booked a table for 2pm but they'd already run out of stuffing, soon after they'd run out of Yorkshire puddings. We were in a nice corner but it meant that we kept getting overlooked for service: no extra drinks offered and we asked for the dessert menu but it was over 40 minutes before we had our order taken - and that was only because we went to the bar. That said, the welcome was friendly, had a lovely garden, good choice of drinks and the food good. Would go back.

Lovely venue and very helpful staff. We had a cream tea for 2 with a glass of sparkling local wine (which we didn’t get!) Personally I don’t think I would pay that amount again for what we got, the salmon on a small roll was inedible and the sandwiches were literally a 1/4 of a piece of bread with filling each. The scone wasn’t particularly fresh and the cake offerings were tiny. The breakfast tea was lovely, and the service fabulous. So all in all don’t bother with the afternoon teas over priced, just not worth it. But service lovely so go and try the hotel, Spa and main meals.
