Delightful restaurant which puts guest comfort first. The stone floors and walls were super cooling on a hot summer’s day. My friend and I were welcomed, along with my little Cavapoo. The drinks were fantastic and our host has done various wine qualifications which helped him pair our wines accordingly. The food served was delicious and beautifully presented. I am happy to return and try other items/the garden menu on a different occasion.

Beautiful presented afternoon tea. Range and quality of the food was outstanding. Staff were friendly and attentive without being intrusive. A wonderful treat for a celebration! The only criticism is the price of the water, which seemed excessive. Otherwise, the afternoon tea was good value.

Had a great lunch, some of the best fish and chips ever paired with local beers and great service! Easy and free car park (don’t forget to put your registration into their system!). Lunch menu is quite short compared with the dinner options but still plenty of choices. Be sure to enjoy the history about the location while taking in the ambience!

This was my second time eating at the George, and it did not disappoint. We attended today for a friend's birthday. Our meals were exceptional. Staff were attentive but not to the point of annoying. They made my friend's birthday special by singing to her and adding a sparkler to her dessert. I recommend the Sunday roasts :)

The main restaurant was very noisy so we sat in the bar which was delightful. A wonderful place and a view of the river. The food was good - although the pasta needed more flavour. Great place to meet with friends and a lovely room to chat in.
