Really great food. The thali was not on the menu, but luckily available. Great choice of three spicy and tasty vegetarian dishes, naan, papadum and rice with vegetables and pickles. The service was friendly, personal and fast. Our compliments to the staff!

Absolutely excellent! Had a fabulous time at the Grease filmed afternoon tea. Food was amazing & attention to detail was spot on!

Reliable spot with bowling green views. In a trendy conservation area. Certainly unique to Southend. Away from the usual seaside type of eateries. Hidden spot we go to here from east London. Food always fresh, locally sourced. Sunday roasts are a treat and one for the classic quiet ambience of the former bowling green clubhouse. Akin to what one expects from independent gastro pubs or bistros in Islington and Greenwich. Except prices are reasonable, the decor is definitely unique and you can go to the beach and amusements after. Must be my 5th time here now.

The venue is beautiful and a calm setting with great views. The food was on the whole was ample and a good selection. The sandwiches were a little dry on both sides and although there was a great selection of cakes, there were three of us and sometimes only 1 or 2 of the mini cakes on offer. Everything else had three eg three sandwiches, three scones Every all it was a great experience and value for money.
