Best Sunday Lunch Restaurants in Ponthir

We have enjoyed every time we have been to the Rock and Fountain and everyone is friendly and helpful. We do enjoy the food and we actually decided to make it an early Father's Day visit, we do prefer this as we get more choice and it's quieter. It was all very pleasant and we will return.

We had a lovely welcome when we arrived with our dog and were able to sit at our booked table a bit earlier and order easily and quickly. Lots of staff working, all happy and friendly. The bar was busy, as was the restaurant, so some large groups, but all in good humour and lovely to see a pub busy and successful. Our food was really delicious - we did the sharing platter as a starter and it was amazing. Then one chicken dish and one steak, which was very nicely cooked and very tasty. Enjoyed our meal and the pub in general. We have a motorhome and were able to stay overnight in the car park (prior agreed) which was quiet and a good night.

Really enjoyed our celebration lunch! Will be back to sample the evening menu! Great service and food.

The roast was very tasty, particularly the sirloin beef. Sadly the service was a bit slow as they were so understaffed so we had to ask for drinks again. Recommend though!
